The Economy is Bad...

... blah, blah, blah! The economy is always in a state of transition. It's up a little, it's down a little. It's down a lot, it's up a lot! It has always been that way and it will always be that way.

What you may not realize is that, even when the economy is down like it is now, there is a market created. Think about this... in just about ANYTHING, the change of status almost always creates some type of market just waiting to be tapped into.

I'll use the economy as an example... a down economy will create a demand for reports on how to save money on groceries, gas-saving tips, how to save money on the utilities; in fact, just about ANY money saving tips. With so many people being laid off, they will be coming to the internet to learn how to make a living online. So many markets will be opening up or expanding.

Don't look at events as being bad and getting all gloomy! In every single circumstance, always look for an opportunity because there is nearly always one there.

If I hadn't recently resigned from the Spelling Police, I'd help you out there. ;-)

      Oh, what the heck... indispensable.

You were way off. You had extra syllables even. ;-)

I thought maybe you were trying to coin a new word. Independent + Indispensable. But, I think that would be indepespensable.

yeah, bad economy means that some stocks are undervalued and local shops are going to give discounts soon!

Plan your shopping now and make a list of what you need for your house.

Or prepare a list of stocks to research on to find out whether they are undervalued.

Thats vague. The truth is to remain indispensable, one must be adept enough to change his survival strategy in such a way that you're constantly right on the curve of changes - that you can think outside the box enough to come up with unique ideas for solutions to your problems.

There's a saying that's been floating around my head for years...

"For every adversity, there is within it, a seed of equivalent or better benefit"
Can't remember the origins of that but maybe Joe Cossman.

Very well stated Chris. For any downturn, there is always a flip side which presents opportunity. It's just a matter of looking at a situation from a different angle.

There is always a way to make money, no matter what the economy is doing.

The key is to use your noggin to find ways to create wealth, not moan about what is going on in the world.

The economy is very bad. American Express has started putting charge limits on their accounts.

Chris, you are like good advice in a box. You deserve an award or something, I couldn't agree with you more regarding new opportunities in an economic downturn. I'd also like to remind people that Reese was right about the stock market...
