Please use question marks. (?)

I'm sure you learned in elementary school that a question is followed by a question mark (?).

Yet, I see the forum filled with post titles like, "How to make $5000 per day." but when I open the thread it's someone asking how to make 5k per day. I see threads like, "How to get 200,000 visitors to your blog." but when I read it there's a guy asking how to get more traffic to their blog.

I'm assuming these are people making inflammatory declaratory statements to get more post views rather than asking a question (which are often somewhat ridiculous scenarios).

I'm not trying to be the grammar police- you could pick my posts apart and find numerous errors.

I'm only asking that posters make an effort to make their post subjects acurately reflect the contents of their posts. Right now, there are a few posts like this just on the first couple pages of the forum.

If I see a sign on a storefront that says "FREE CHEESEBURGER" I don't expect to go in and find a guy asking me where to get a free cheeseburger.

Those misleading thread titles are annoying, but that line right there is what earned you my thanks. I needed a good laugh, you provided, I thank you.

Very good point! I've wanted to post this exact topic before. I hate when something looks like a statement because it has no ? at the end but in reality it is a question.

You mean people don't properly punctuate......I mean punctuate?

Yep, I've fallen for it too.

I totally agree. I don't know how many of those I fell for in this forum today alone. Another reason I wish we had a button that is the opposite of a thank you button.

Yes, a little question of honesty. It takes a bit of polishing or paying attention to what you are doing and saying, to keep it cleaned up. I've been taken in by those too, and they load a bad impression fast.

Fortunately the hover over the topic title is usually enough to give it away. But that is still time that doesn't need to be wasted.

One that's been proposed a couple of times is a WTF button. Sounds like a good idea to me.

I agree that people should use question marks when their subject header is, in fact, a question.

On the other hand, I also dislike being told what to do?

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

I think we should also have the button available Saturday through Tuesday as well.
