Learn everything or jsut outsource

I think this would be a great question not just for me, but all the newbies out there as well.. I think I can speak on behalf of all of us struggling in internet marketing when I say that we would greatly appreciate if some pros answer the following question:

Ok, I have been giving myself information overload for about a year and a half about internet marketing. Im pretty sure I grasped all that I could learn very well and even tried to apply it. Maybe what I am doing is wrong and can't get it right, soooo....

Should we just buy one GREAT ebook or course, learn the Formula for making money online, then apply it by paying someone else to actually apply it for you?

    No.

Learn the big picture of affiliate marketing first. Then see how the techniques of gaining traffic fit into the picture.

I've found that ebooks tend to focus on a specific technique only. That's fine for those wanting to learn everything they can about that one technique, but it does not present the big picture of affiliate marketing.

If you're going to use SEO, understand it well first before deciding if you want to outsource. If you're going to go for internet marketing, understand it well first before deciding on the traffic technique you prefer and if you need to outsource it.

    Big picture then little picture.

Absolutely. Make sure you have a system that works and can be replicated then just hire staff to run it for you. Remember if you are in ANY way crucial to your businesses success you don't have a business you have a job...

  • I would definitely learn it first you can't buy knowledge. Once you know what you are doing and can make it work then you can look at outsourcing it to other people.

This will save you money and headaches:

LEARN HOW TO DO IT YOURSELF, THEN OUTSOURCE

The blind can't lead the blind. Get up off the lazy chair, work out the best way to do it and then get someone who is cheap to follow your system that you know works becuase you did it yourself. That way if they don't get results you know its cos they are not doing it right.

      Thank you for quoting that.

Outsourcing is not only by transferring the tasks and then waiting for the results to come. It's still about giving the attention to train your virtual staff, allow them to have a feel in your "business" and business systems, study your background, evaluate their interests in it and how will they be applying their skills, etc, etc. Also, finding the right team in place takes a lot of time before you'll know they're the ones you should be working with from now on and so forth.

Before you outsource, make sure you've got a lot of experience and knowledge with what you wanted to target in the internet marketing scheme then once you've already mastered everything, you could now outsource the tasks, spend more time with the family/loved ones and just oversee the perfect results. And, one last thing, taking time to praise your virtual staff's achievements is always a good point to motivate them even better to help you manage your business. That way, they feel more appreciated and valued at the same time.

      I hope that helps.

Do first, then outsource. Always start your project by having a system in mind. Then work on bulding the system and fine tuning it. Once you have a system up, then you think about outsourcing out to people to replace what you are doing.

That way, you can have the biz running without you been there and secondly, you are able to know if the people you hire are doing what you want them to do....

Like everyone say, learn, do then outsource

I'd definitely recommend to learn different parts of IM and master them yourself before outsourcing. The reason for that is you then know what you are talking about to the people you are outsourcing to.

Obviously you can't master everything in IM... but what I recommend to do is take something that interests you and get really good at it... such as PPC, conversion, SEO, list-building, product creation etc before branching out.

THEN, once you know what you're doing is the time to outsource IMO... unless you love to do it yourself.

    Somewhat related...somewhat unrelated.

As an professor, many of my colleagues now OUTSOURCE their grading. It is controversial:

The Faculty Lounge: No Time for Grading? Outsource It!

I also have recently been requested to write by companies that want me to research and write for the students.

So if it even happens in academia, we are not immune. Who has time to LEARN and who has time to TEACH?

By the way, I am not endorsing the practice, just pointing it out.

My wife who is also an online prof has suggested that perhaps the student could just outsource the researching and writing of his paper to the assistant doing the outsourced grading for the professor.

That way he is guaranteed an A.

It is good to outsource but I think it's better if you know how to do the business before you let other people do it for you. I think it's always better to have a hands-on on whatever you do.

I suggest you may make a system base on what you learn . Do a pilot test, if it fail , add more power and modify it, when it success you will get some income. And now you know how internet marketing perform, you should use your income to outsourcing , because you know what you need to do for increase you income with your experience. If you start outsourcing to do at beginner, you may loss a lot of money and give up soon before get real income.

You need to know everything first or at least you have some idea about the project/services that you want to outsource. If you have more time and you think you are knowledgeable enough to do the project then do it yourself but if you want to focus more with your core business an outsourcing provider is needed to help you out.
