Need advice on article marketing/directories

Noob here. I appreciate the forum and need some advice.

I have been submitting articles to about 10 different directories, over a period of about 4 months now. These directories were all recommended on several lists of "top" directories. Six of them give me backlinks (and traffic). The backlinks show up anywhere from 4 hours to 4 weeks after I have my articles accepted. Four of them have accepted several articles with backlinks to my sites but no backlink checker shows any indexing of the links after several weeks. Should I...

  1. Replace those four directories in my workflow with four others?
  2. "Boost" the links? (If so, can you suggest a method?)
  3. Submit to fewer directories? (I am very interested in maximizing my effort-benefits, so I don't mind doing fewer if there are serious diminishing returns from doing many.)
  4. Other solutions for more effective article submission? Your suggestions are welcome!
Thanks! You have been a great help to me in the past and I look forward to your advice.

    Hi there,

My advice is if those 4 directories continue to not show the indexing of your backlinks, then change it. But I personally would not submit to fewer directories. The more you use, the more backlinks you are going to get.

One of the great sites you can use for article submission and boosting your backlinks is called: SubmitYourArticle.com

They literally will send your article to 1,000 of directories (Including the top 10 like ezine, goarticles etc...)

It will save you time by writing one article and they do the rest for you. Believe me, I am using them and it is brilliant.

They also offer you training on how to write more effectively with tons of short e-books in their database.

Apparently, writing 700-800 words will boost your chances of being published a lot more on high traffic websites. I never knew this and always use to write between 400-500 words.

So tips like that really made a difference overall in boosting your backlinks.

    Hope this helped.

    Dev
