Public Domain Idea - Any Good?

I have been thinking about ways to get unique content for adsense sites.

In the UK, after 70 years of publish date for a smaller work, or 70 years from the death of a well known author, the entire book becomes public domain.

I contacted the british library and discovered they have 80,000+ books from late 1800/ early 1900.

All of that info is free to copy and I very much doubt will be on the internet anywhere. They will provide a scanned copy that I can run through an OCR software and have it in usable text.

For £30 I can have a scan of 100+ pages of totally unique content to be picked up by google.

I think it could be possible to create a system to upload entire books to the web and get lots of longtail search traffic which will result in adsense clicks.

I am a bit unsure about it, but I live near the british library (you have to go in person to dig out the books). Does anyone have any opinions on whether it will work or not?

Perhaps someone wants to JV it?

There are tons of people making money with PD. You have identified one way (blog content) but I would suggest you look a little broader!

There is lots of free info on the web, plus some great paid stuff (including a great WSO by a guy called Kneb)

    I say GO FOR IT!
