Don't think about quantity, think about quality.

The right question is "how can I provide value to my audience?"

The Internet doesn't need more stuff... people that search Google don't ask "why aren't there a few million more results to browse?" . They want quick access to relevant information.

Serve your market, and you'll be rewarded for it!

  • Yeah quality and not quantity..this phrase has been circling all over forums and its still the truth that we need to accept.

Try to put yourself as a reader and what do you want to read that interest you most, from there you can have better idea for your posting period.

I've outsourced the articles because I wanted the written by an experienced poker pro and I have close to 25 articles right now I can post, should I post them all at once though?

Also should each series have their own category or should they be listed in several categories?

You want a drip feed, as Zeus66 mentioned the other day.

If you are going to continue posting, then you can post all at once. But don't post 25 today and then not post again for 2 weeks.

Better to have 2 per day for 14 days.

As for categories, categories = keywords.

If those 25 articles cover 5 primary keywords then you would have 5 categories.

      Regards,
      PCRoger.

What directories should I submit to? I have been submitting here and there through a article submission company I bought into but I'm still testing that out to see how the results will vary.

this is my first post but i have been into internet marketing for quite a while now

anyway congratulation on your set up but i do not understand your question

is the articles to your blog site[wordpress] or to article directories

if you are thinking of writing articles to your blogsite every day i dont know how long you are going to keep up with that [i have never tried it]

but if you want to write for article directories then i'll suggest you start with 5 good keyword rich articles per day you can do more if you are up to it but i'll advice to take it easy if you do not want to burn out so quickly

Even one article in every two days is fine, until you have a unique article and get more visitors for your site. Remember to bookmark in all the social bookmarking sites and try to get one backlink a day to increase the traffic.

You can submit 5 or more a day but it really is not about how many but how well researched as far as keywords, resource box, etc..

I am still trying to learn so this may seem like a dumb question... how can you tell if a keyword is a "hot buying keyword?" Thank you.

I'd say just be consistent. If you're using WP then load up all the articles to drip feed out to the site every few days/weeks. Then commission some more posts.

Spend some time designing your site structure before you post so that you know which categories to use based on your keywords.

Yes, but with a 1,000+ word article, I can get people to at least SEE my article, and beat out a 350 word article....

Who's article stands the better chance at converting a sale: the one that is seen or the one that isn't seen?

"nobody wants to sit and read a long probably boring article"

That depends....if it has something they WANT, and is written is the right way, I'll get someone to read my 1,000+ word article from start to finish....

There are many other intricate methods involved in getting people to read a long article, as well....

Besides, yes, based on my experience and others, Google tends to favor longer articles for a variety of reasons.

The longer article vs the short article; this really depends on where you are posting, and what the goal of that article is for.

If you are posting to your out site/blog, then a longer article might be better, especially if you are trying to get more relevant adsense ads on your page. This will give google a better way to see the relevancy of your site page.

However, if you are submitting these articles to article directories in hopes of converting them to readers of your own website (ie. click on your resource box), then splitting up that 1000 word article into 2 or 3 different articles might be best (as long as it makes sense of course). This way you get more exposure, and more likely that someone is going to click through to your site.

For example: Which do you think will work better?

7 1000+ word articles with great resource boxes

            or

17 articles at 400 words with great resource boxes.

The 17 articles at 400 words will more than likely have a better chance of getting more traffic to your site. There is greater exposure, with more variety of keywords to work with.

And to answer the OP's question:

If you are posting to directories; make sure you are consistent with your postings. That means if you can only post 1 or 2 articles a day to directories, then just post 1 or 2 articles a day, every day.

If you are posting to your website/blog. It really depends; if you want to keep it up to date, and have google crawl it constantly, then 2 - 3 times a week is good. If you just want to post something new so you can rank for a new keyword, then just post when you are ready to start ranking for the new keyword.

There are some people who just make up their entire website/blog right off the bat and do just fine, without worrying if google is always crawling their site. This is how a lot of mini niche sites are created.

I use mass article submitter which submits to 20 sites with one click. I also use a spinner. I usually submit between 3 and 4 per week.

That equals 4 x 7 = 28 articles per week to 20 different article directories

    28 articles x 4 / month = A lot of traffic....

Work smart not hard Hope this helps.

You submit the same article to several directories?

There was a time when I lived by the 'drip feed' thing. Then I knocked up a quick simple blog, fully loaded with 20 posts that was intended for paid traffic. Within 2 weeks Google had ranked the thing for various keywords.

Since then I always add a decent amount of content straight off the bat. Never looked back! Each to their own I guess?

I don't think there's an actual rule for this but in order to keep your blog being "seen" by search engines and such I'd suggest you post at least 2x a week. I personally try to keep a post per day as my own goal. I don't always meet it, but it helps to have fresh, unique content as often as possible.

1000 word posts are nuts. I personally don't have the patience to read that long of a post.

My posts are generally 400-600 words each. And I get decent traffic to my blogs. And I've had a couple blogs get indexed in Google within 24 hours posting like that so obviously it's just a matter of personal preference.

I think as long as they have a good keyword density and don't come off as being scammy as hell, you're good.

I would NOT post all articles in one go, I would drip feed the articles once a day.

I would create a few logical categories including relevant keywords if possible. I would not post all articles in the same category unless they are very similar.

Content and quality is key. If you can actually post many keyword rich articles with quality content every week, you can actually attract more traffic.

However, because of practicality, better do less articles but better quantity.
You can also outsource your tasks.

The short answer: as many as you can! (the more the better)

A Few More Article Marketing Tips:

Write useful articles that provide value, but leave your reader wanting more (thus inspiring them to click your resource box link). Don't worry about size, but don't make them too long (you want them to MAKE IT to your resource box).

Make your articles easier to read by utilizing bold headings and paragraph breaks.

    Hope that helps!

Write updating your posts. And yes, quality is more important than quantity. But you need to update your blog everytime. Or people will think your blog is dead.

In my opinion, when you start with a brand new wordpress blog, you must first index it fast with posting 2-3 articles on the first day. Use social bookmarking, RSS submission and Pinging to index your site fast after you submit 2-3 keyword rich articles to your site.

Then submit 1 article daily or every 2-3 days to your site and submit 1 related articles to EZA and Articlesbase for backlinking and traffic. You can also create video and submit to Tubemogul for mass submissions. In this way you will get consistent traffic every day to your website and you will stand a good chance to makes regular sales.

How many keywords do you guys use with one article? Some guys say it doesn't matter if the article is "reader friendly" as long as it's google friendly. Some other guys suggest you to use one same long-tail keyword in your article like in four different locations, such as hearder, first paragraph, in the middle, last paragraph. So what methods do you guys use?

What about the keyword research.. what kind of keyword research method do you use? What the local search volume should be.. what kind of results are you looking for.. do you think there should be other articles in the google search result for that specific keyword you will use.. etc... etc ?

It won't really matter. You can post them all and have a blog full of rich content. Google is going to crawl those pages anyway. It's no different than a static website that has a lot of pages.

The advantages of a blog is that the search engines prefer fresh content over static content; therefore, it might be to your advantage to post 1 article a day.

The next thing you'll need to do is get backlinks so that your site can start moving up the ranks of the search engines. You could probably start building those backlinks once you've got about 10 posts on your site. Have some kind of substance there.

There's no guarantee that your site will show up on the first page for the keyword you're trying to rank for because it depends how well optimized your competitor's pages are, their backlinks, the authority of the site compared to yours. Google has 200+ criteria that determines ranking.
See SEOMoz on the Top 5 Ranking Factors.

Don't sweat it too much. You can build backlinks by guest posting articles on high-traffic sites or blogs, on article directories, Social Media, RSS, website directory submission, blog commenting on authority sites, etc. Just make sure your content is good. If you want to outsource all of that, I'm sure there are plenty of SEO warriors that can help you.

I use a 1 in 3 system I use 1 third of my posting allocated article time for actually writing and posting and the remaining time for back linking.

so if I have 3 hours I will write articles/post for an hour then 2 hours back linking that or previous articles
