I have a main domain (lets say Mydomain)...which has good traffic + links etc, but releasing an ebook, and want to release it under a new domain.

I dont want to use a subdomain, but new one.

I want to register the original domain with Book or Ebook after the word.

www.MyDomainBook.com

www.MyDomainEBook.com

?

It is for a selling ebook, not a physical book.

Does book seem ok, for selling an ebook? (I dont want people to assume that it is a physical book, but an electronic book.

I would recommend that you stick with a simple domain with the book or ebook in there but if you have to add it then I would say go with ebook. Many people assume that they are getting a physical book when they look at the work book in the domain.

EDIT: BTW, It all depends on your niche

Here is an idea for you. Put yourself in the mind of your customer. Some people love reading ebooks but some people like to be able to pick up a physical book to read. If it is an ebook that you would have referral links to follow to a site then i would recommend an ebook, but if you do not have any referral links and you can simply write a website address, I would offer your customer the option to purchase and ebook for $17 or order the physical book for $27 (The only issue with a physical book is you being able to have a physical product and having stock always on hand and posting to all corners of the world)

    I hope this helps you.

If you just selling e-book without any physical products, you should go for "ebook" word. So the visitor that comes to your site only people that interested to buy e-books, and don't make them confuse. You can then optimize your site for SEO later.

With the low cost and easy to set up nature of print on demand now, I would go with just book in the domain, not ebook and offer both options. The biggest advantage of selling a physical product is you capture their mailing address as well as their email so you have a second method to contact and market to them.

Some people look down on ebooks and think they are cheap and/or poor quality information, so I would avoid using e-book in the domain if possible.

If I were you I would put it on the original website just create a new section on the site for your ebook.

If you don't want to go this way, then I see 3 options:

        1. Use the 'book' extension - and offer both a real physical book (use a print-on-demand service) and an ebook version. This way, it is clear to the customer what they are buying.

        2. Find another domain without the word book or ebook at the end. Maybe find a catchy name for your ebook ... brainstorm a little, I'm sure you can come up with something good.

        3. Use the 'book' extension and make sure it is very clear to the customer that they are getting an ebook. Use words like "Instant Download" with a download or a CD icon just below the "Buy Now" button, etc...
