hey gang, is it possible in aweber to add a new subscriber to 2 lists at one time, for example a customer and affiliate list without user having to signup on both pages?

Thanks in advance!

I haven't done it, but it looks do-able. Go into "My Lists" > "Automation"

There you can set it to "Subscribe to list _____ when lead subscribes to ______"

Note, if you have double opt-in enabled (which I always recommend), they may get two opt-in messages. I haven't done it myself, but maybe someone else can confirm if this is correct.

You can subscribe people to more than one list automatically
      with AWeber.

If you're using confirmed opt-in for both lists, the subscriber
will only receive ONE e-mail asking them to confirm their
subscription. If they click the link, they get subscribed to
      both lists.

I trust you on this because I know you always give out reliable (tested) information

        Thanks, this was very helpful!

    Yup it's possible...

Rick hit the nail on the head. Automation rules will allow you are add and remove subscribers from various lists. For instance say you have a list of prospects, and a follow up sequence designed to get them to buy your stuff. You also have a seperate list of people who have bought your stuff - your buyers list.

When someone from your prospect list buys your product you can create a rule that would remove them from your prospect list as they are added to your buyers list.

This may be a bit advanced, depending on your level but I'll toss the thought out there:

If you don't want to use automation rules or you have multiple lists you want a prospect on, you can use hidden forms to add them to as many as you like. If you don't know how to create them you can get most any programmer to code your page for less then $50 - There are many valid reasons for having people on multiple lists (and spamming the hell out them isn't one of the reasons

I first learned about having people on multiple lists from Jermaine Griggs a few years back. Seems like a lifetime ago in IM years, lol

This concludes my long winded answer to your question, lol

As you've already heard, it IS possible and I do it all the time. For example, with teleseminar sign-ups...I set up the automation to also add them to my main list when they join the list for the teleseminar.

You do have to set it up BEFORE anyone signs up though. I made a mistake once and forgot to set up the automation. As a result, I ended up setting up another new list and now I've got a tiny list I always have to remember to include when mailing to my main list. (There's no way to merge them in Aweber)

Automation is actually very easy to do, just search the support topics. And it's a great idea too.

Another thing I learned is that I used to use the same second list over and over for each teleseminar (deleting current names before opening to new sign-ups). But then I decided to just create a new list each time.

Even though it'll increase your subscriber count, you'll always be able to target any promotions on that topic to the smaller list. Plus, it's good if you ever want to truly delve into how engaged your subscribers are.
