Anyone else seeing emails like this?

Hi

Since, I think, Aweber changed it's sending options I'm seeing some emails come into my Outlook Inbox that look like this...

<html><head></head><body><div><!--StartFragment -->=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=</div>
<div>Title</div>
<div>Customer Announcement</div>
<div>=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=</div>
<div><br />
I'm sending this as an html email to <br />
you!<br />
<br />I guess I'm 'twisting your arm' <br />
to watch the video.<br />
<br />Curious?<br />
<br />(And its not my fault the girls<br />
are scre.aming - it was a bumpy<br />

</body></html>

Now it's obvious from the coding that these messages have been sent in html format. What I'd like to know is whether it is just me that is seeing this code or whether some of you are too?

The strange thing is that some marketers manage to send me full html encoded messages and they display correctly, images and all. Without delving into the source code I can't see what the difference is?

Anyway I continue to play safe and send messages out in text format. If this is how html messages from Aweber are being shown then I would guess that a lot of them aren't being read!

I welcome your views.

    This happens to my reader whenever a marketer ONLY sends emails using HTML but no text alternative. Maybe that's it.

    I have seen some emails like this as well. Like you said I instantly hit the delete key. I could take the time to put the code on a html file or even in DreamWeaver but hey I don't have the time to play around with stuff like that I am to busy. If they didn't have the time to create a text version then appartently they are not worried if I read the message or now.

    I myself use GetResponse and choose to send out all of my emails in plain text. It is simple, gets the point across, and IMO is much more effective as it does not take up as much of my time.

    Phew, I'm glad it's not just me, then!

    Takuya, what you say makes sense but I still don't understand why other html emails format correctly in my reading pane and these don't. It's not like I've setup Outlook only to read mails in text format.

    Terry, I entirely agree. I don't necessarily blame Aweber as I use the service all the time, but I do just enter my messages in the text box and they arrive formatted the way I like 'em.
