Paid adverts do they work?

I've tried advertising on PPC, Bing, facebook and others and i haven't received any clicks. I have followed Armand Morins's AM2 gold members coaching and Frank Kerns coaching that apply to Paid advertising but i can't get any of it to work. I am obviously doing something wrong because there is evidence to show it does work. Can anyone help me get it going please. Thanks
Dan

It certainly does work mate. Why don't you read the 'help' section of the
sites you're using? They all have some kind of support section.

The best help that you can get is from the owners of the websites.

More than likely, you are either using ads that aren't converting, or keywords that nobody searches on.

Best thing I can tell you, without getting too involved myself, is to goto a bookstore and get Perry Marshall's adwords book to figure out what you are doing wrong. It's only about $15 bucks, but the guy is the king of this stuff.

If you aren't even getting any clicks then you are doing something very wrong. Clicks are almost impossible to not get - it's the profitable conversions that are a bit tougher.

Another vote for Perry Marshall. For $20 or whatever the book costs on Amazon will be the best money you've ever spent. Whatsmore, you do not have to go anywhere near PPC to apply what you learn to many other areas of IM. The book is pure gold IMO.

Dan, a bit off topic, but why thank thread trolls and spammers?

    Now, back on topic...

What have you tried, how much research have you done?

Are your ads getting views/impressions? If so, your copy is probably really screwed up. Need more info to give real advice!

    Hi Dan,

the first thing you have to consider is if your market is in those locations. Also, in PPC, you should put it for last. Go with the other sites like Facebook to try out your ads before putting it in PPC. It is all about testing, testing and testing until it works.

Yeah, but you've got PMs turned off. I can't send you a message, you might wanna check your settings.

      So, here's my PM:

      Hi Dan,

In terms of the thanks thing...the guy you thanked has been posting pointless crap on this forum in every single of one his 10 posts.

I try to do my bit to weed out spammers, and he's one of them, I can almost guarantee it.

      Anyway, back to the issue.

I am a professional copywriter, and I've been doing this stuff for years. If you want to, and feel comfortable doing so, I can take a look at your ads and campaigns and try and see where you are going wrong if you like?

Lord knows I've done enough wrong to spot the same mistakes with other people's stuff!

Anyway, let me know. PM me with your email if you can't sort the message setting out.

      Kind regards,

      Nick

It takes a lot of trial and error to be successful with PPC. You never know what combination of words is going to attract the people willing to buy.

I can only think of 2 things that would result in zero clicks.

First is the strategy of advertising on long-tail keywords with very little traffic. Test some advertising on a keyword that gets a lot of traffic and see if you're still getting zero clicks. You can set a budget to limit what you spend and yes, there are some high-traffic keywords that are cheap and have limited competition.

Second is that your ad copy isn't enticing people to click. Don't sell the product, sell the click. By that, I mean that you want to pique your prospect's interest to find out what's on the other side of your ad. Try split-testing some different ad copy on a keyword that gets a lot of traffic.

It helps to look at the ads that are already working as jfp239 said earlier.

A lot of people have unprofitable Adwords campaigns. But it's unusual not to get any clicks unless your keywords don't get much traffic or your ad isn't showing enough... so I guess a third possible reason would be that you're not spending enough to get your ad shown. But if you go after cheap keywords, that shouldn't be a problem.

Search engine advertising certainly does work. If you're not receiving any clicks at all, then something is certainly very wrong. Perhaps your ads are not worded properly to entice people to click on them, or perhaps your keywords aren't targeted enough. Another factor to consider is your bid price on the keywords, if they are too low your ads may not even appear on the first page if it is a competitive keyword! Have you checked to see what position (and page) your ads are appearing on?
