Hi warriors, Why is UK hosting so expensive?

When you compare the cost of UK package's
with USA host packages, UK comes out expensive.

OK, it's easy to say that the cheaper providers
oversell. But you can shave 30%+ off the cheaper
plans hype & still be left with more bells & whistles.

Next, you get what you pay for. Compare customer
service. I have & will leave it to you to guess the winner.

  • I love hostgator and I think they are US based.

  • Simply put, it probably costs more to run a hosting company over here, and don't forget, the dollar rate makes a difference.

    To be fair, you can get cheap hosting in the UK - personally, I've had better results with US hosts.

  • yes..i pay $2/month for my UK hosting (which is SUPERB by the way...)...lots of money

    But..to answer your question: I could see utility cost being a BIG factor, mind you they are 3 times as high compared to the states. So it would cost a lot more to run and maintain servers in EU.
