A Simple Blueprint For Making Money Plus Some Help From Me

Hi guys,

For the last 2 months or so, I have been creating 1 niche site per day, sometimes even 2. I would find keywords with at least a few thousand searches per month and see if there is an exact match domain available. In most cases (depending on the competition), this would be enough for a low page 1 ranking in Google. I then proceed with link building if necessary.

Now, the reason I am posting here is to offer some help to those who would like to try out niche marketing or who haven't made any money yet, and those who have trouble with keyword research.

I have a big list of keywords with available exact match domains(.COm, .NET or .ORG) that get at least a few 1000 searches per month in Google. This list would last me a year if I continue building sites like this, so I've decided to share a certain amount with WF members. I don't like to hoard stuff and I don't have a scarcity-based mentality, so this is something that makes the most sense to do.

So, whoever needs a helping hand with KW research, I will PM you 2 great keywords for you to get started.

EDIT: NO MORE KEYWORDS! Guys, 200+ exact match domain keywords have been PM'ed and my hand hurts from all the typing That's it for now, but I see that folks really need this type of stuff, so I'll repeat this giveaway soon

Be sure to read the thread and ask some questions if you find something interesting.

Cheers,

Josip

Guys, I have responded to all those who have sent me PM's. All I ask is that you don't PM me questions that are not directly related to those specific keywords. You can post those questions here, so that we can all benefit from the questions and answers.

      Cheers,

90% of the sites end up on page 1 of Google for the primary keyword without any link building. From there, I use FreeTrafficSystem or 1WayLinks to post 1 or 2 articles, spread them out a bit and that's about it.

I mostly use Amazon, CJ, ShareASale and adsense(if the affiliate products aren't converting). Mostly they do around $100-$200, but I have 1 site that's making 1K per month and I spent about 3 hours on it altogether.

Every once in awhile, there's a site that doesn't make me any money, and that's okay - can't win them all

I was wondering if you have any criteria as to what makes you chose one over the other, or do you just start with Amazon, see how it performs, and then move on to the others if it isn't performing how you want it to?

If I find the keyword while browsing through Amazon, I'll start off by using an Amazon affiliate link. However, I sometimes add additional links from other networks or replace the first one if there are a lot of clicks and no commissions.

All in all, you gotta go with your intuition on this one. I say, do what makes sense to you - that's the best way!

I have no problem with finding good niches and keywords but I just have some

questions for you since it is obvious we are using the same blueprint.

    1. How soon and often do you create backlines for your sites.

    2. How has the result in terms of return on investment been overall.

    3. Do you create your content yourself or you do outsource.

    4. In your post, you stated that you have lots of domain researched with keywords that

could last you for a year. Have you registered them already?

    5. How do you manage to build 2 sites daily? Are you doing this full time.

josip, seems like lots of questions. I will love us to share ideas when I start off next

    month.

      Hi Rapheal,

      I'll jump right in

      1. I wait until the sites are indexed and ranking on page 1 or 2. Most accomplish this within a week or so. Then, I submit an article to FreeTrafficSystem or 1waylinks and get around 30-40 backlinks. Additionally, I may use SocialMarker for social bookmarking and one more 1waylinks article if necessary.

      2. The only costs are for the domain name and if I outsource article writing. I use 1 hosting for all these sites. Considering that the sites average around $200, I think my overall profit is excellent. I even have 1 site that's doing 1K per month with no extra effort.

      3. I mostly outsource from fellow Warrior Forum members, but occasionally I write the articles myself if it's an interesting topic.

      4. No, this is why I'm giving the keywords away. I do 1 or 2 sites per day, so when I run out of keywords, I'll get some new ones without any need to hoard the ones I have

      5. If I outsource article writing, it takes me an hour to build the site and an hour for other stuff like link building and product hunting. I have to admit that I rarely do 2 sites, because I have other stuff on my plate as well, but I am a full time internet marketer. No JOB!!

If you want more details, ask away.

      Cheers,

      Josip

Static Wordpress sites with content on the homepage and up to 4 more additional pages of content(not including the about page, privacy policy, sitemap and contact pages that are default with each of my sites).

All the backlinking I do for these sites is with FreeTrafficSystem or 1waylinks, plus a round of social bookmarking(at least a week after indexing).

        Josip, great post.

Are you saying that you only use "pages" and not "posts" in WordPress?

Also, how are you monetizing the blog? Are you using "reviews" with affiliate links in them or just general articles with banner ads on the page?

        Thanks,

        Johnny

          Hi Johnny,

Yes, I'm only using pages, no posts.

If it's a product-based keyword, I do an overview of the product(something like Chris Rempel's conduit method), without any pitching and add some testimonials.

If it's a general keyword, I'll get some articles that revolve around that keyword - I add affiliate links on the top, just before the article or after the first paragraph, and at the bottom of the article.

          Cheers,

          Josip

FTS and 1waylinks are blog networks. I suggest that you google them or go to freetrafficsystem.com and 1waylinks.net to see what they're all about.

          Keyword example: "legos for girls"

Obviously, a majority of people who type in legos for girls are looking to see what they look like or to buy them.

According to Google Keyword Tool, this keyword gets searched 4,400 times per month. In my book, this is a great keyword.

You can google it and you'll find an exact match domain(not mine) sitting at #6. The site has almost no backlinks, but is ranking on page 1.

To be honest, if I find an exact match domain for a keyword that gets searched 5000 times per month, I really don't care what the competition is. This might sound weird, but the truth is that with just a little link building 98% of the sites should end up on page 1.

From there, it's just a matter of how much link building are you willing to do for each site.

For some of the keywords I use, there are less than 50,000 results in Google, and for some there are more than 50,000,000, and it doesn't make much difference.

If there is at least one webpage on page 1 of Google that has less than 100 backlinks, it's something that can be done.

I will post a short analysis for one of my sites in a few minutes.

Let's say I want to use the phrase "buy energy drink" so I want the domain buyenergydrink.com but it is already taken.

(these are just examples, I didn't check to see if these are real domains)

You can just take the phrase you want and add another logical word to it. In this case, make it something like buyenergydrinktoday.com (even an non logical add on word would probably work).

When someone types into Google, 'buy energy drink', after your site has been indexed and has some backlinks and is in the serps, you domain will come up as buyenergydrinktoday.com. In other words, Google will extract that exact phrase in your domain name and highlight it, thus giving you "credit" for it as a domain with the exact matching phrase.

As long as your title tag is 'buy energy drink' and you have a few backlinks with that exact phrase as the anchor text, you will rank well for that phrase.

I have even put the word "and" in the middle of a popular phrase, as a fake example, weightandloss.com and have ranked very highly for the term, in this fake example, weight loss.

But I have found that it works better if the extra word is after your exact phrase.
A good tip, but it's not nearly as effective as having an exact match domain. For the purpose of this method, where we don't want to do a lot of link building, I recommend sticking with ONLY exact match domains.

Here is how the first page of Google looks for a site I built 3 weeks ago, with an exact match domain for a keyword with 9000 monthly searches.

          2. PR3 sitelinks:5,090 pagelinks:274
          3. PR2 sitelinks:2,320,000 pagelinks:7
          4. PR3 sitelinks:3,600 pagelinks:40
          5. youtube video pagelinks:0
          6. PR3 sitelinks:350 pagelinks:350
          7. PR- sitelink:12 pagelinks:11 <- EXACT MATCH DOMAIN
          8. PR4 Wikipedia pagelinks:3
          9. PR2 Amazon pagelinks:0
          10. PR1 sitelinks:1,090 pagelinks:23
          11. PR3 sitelinks:350 pagelinks:30

My site is #7 after only 3 weeks, 12 backlinks according to Yahoo SiteExplorer and no PR.

There are 265,000 results for this keyword in Google.

I have some questions for you. I have a couple of niche sites, but I haven't got an about page, privacy policy, sitemap or contact page there.

For the privacy policy, did you write it yourself, or is there a standard template you copy and paste on each site? Where can I find something like that?

Also, on the sitemap, how do I build one of those?

Do you recommend a certain ad placement on the homepage?

How many of these sites do you have up and running at the moment, and what percentage are making you the average $200/month?

Also, could you please send me a couple of keywords?

    Thanks!

I use a plugin to build the privacy policy page:
      Privacy Policy Plugin For WordPress

      Sitemap plugin:
WordPress › Google XML Sitemaps WordPress Plugins

      Contact form plugin:
WordPress › Contact Form 7 WordPress Plugins

Out of 10 sites that I do in a week or so, 4-5 will do from $150-$250, one will suck big time, 2-3 will up to $300 and one will totally surprise me and do $600, $800 or more.

Naturally, the main point here is that your results will not be the same as mine. However, the only thing that can really ensure your success is that you keep building new sites, building new sites, building new sites, building new sites....you get the idea

One more thing: the reason why some sites have made me 2 or 3 times above average is because I don't settle for mediocrity, meaning that a lot of the keywords I target have 10,000, 15,000 or even 20,000 searches per month. For some, I do a little bit more backlinking and that's it.

I'll send you the keywords via PM shortly

        Hi josip

Thanks for the keyword you have provided, i have already booked the .net domain for it and now working on it to build the site. I cannot build a site in one day like you. It take me minimum couple of weeks including the outsource articles with itself take 3 to 7days.

          Hi arya,

I use HostGator's Baby Package. It's $9.95/month and you can host unlimited domains.

Yes, along with the three plugins I already mentioned, I use the following three:

      All in One SEO Pack
WordPress › All in One SEO Pack WordPress Plugins

      Wordpress Automatic Upgrade
WordPress › Wordpress Automatic upgrade WordPress Plugins

      Really Simple CAPTCHA
WordPress › Really Simple CAPTCHA WordPress Plugins

As far as Wordpress themes go, I try to keep it simple. I have used the default theme for a lot of sites and, even though it doesn't look like much, it performed really well. Use a theme that doesn't have too many things on it, that can keep the focus of the visitor on the text and on your links.

      Cheers,

      Josip

This method can be called unique only because we use exact match domains. Everything else about this is old news.

Naturally, you can go for the same keywords with Squidoo and Blogspot, but it won't work the same. The power of this method is that the exact match domains give us a boost in rankings that we don't get without it.

        I call it Barbaric Marketing

P.S. Just to stress how big of a difference exact matches make, I have three sites on page 1 of Google that have no content. google indexed and ranked the domains before I had the chance to put some content

          Josip,

Thanks for starting this thread that's just led to me picking up what I think will be a great domain name for an affiliate site.

I was reading your thread and thought I would have a search for a couple of product based domain names on namecheap.com.

With my first search, I found a two word .org product based domain that according the the google keyword tool, gets 200,000 exact searches per month.

I'm planning to follow your steps and see what happens with this domain, but I couldn't believe my luck in finding such a high searched for keyword domain so easily.

I use affiliate products or adsense if the affiliate products aren't converting.

You don't have to constantly write articles. It's a static site with max 5 pages of content. The only thing I sometimes do is spread out the publishing of those additional pages.

I'm not sure if you understand completely what we are saying here. You can do whatever you want to do, but it won't give you the same benefits.

99% of traffic comes through Google, Bing and Yahoo. The articles I post on other sites aren't meant to drive traffic, but to get backlinks and move the site up in rankings.

    Hi, Josip,

Thanks for sharing your method. I have some questions.

1, About the product keyword, do you use those with brand name in it?

2, About general keyword, how do you tell which one is buying keyword and which one is just information type keyword? What's your method to choose the right buying keyword?

3, For the example you mentioned above, the legos for girls, which has 4400 exact match searches. But I checked the EZA article which ranked No9, it only get around 50 views/month.

So my question is, if you build a site around a keyword with about 5000---9000 exact match, and rank it No5 ---No9,( generally speaking, because it's not easy to always rank No1), you may only get about 100 -- 350 unique visits, then how can you make that much money? Can you make this more clear?

4, You said you outsource the content writing and have 4 - 5 pages with real content. Then you will pay around $20 - $25 for each site's content?

    Thank you very much!

BTW, do you still send 2 keywords to fellow warrior? I'd like to get them if it's possible.

    Thanks again.

      My pleasure

      1. Yes, I sometimes use brand names, and it works great. Naturally, I don't use brand names of companies like Apple or Microsoft. Also, if the company were to contact me, I would remove my site right away if those were their wishes.

      2. Considering how little time it takes me to build a site and move on, this is not something I worry about. Sure, some sites might not make a lot of money, but my time is better spent building more sites. In short: I follow my intuition on this one and judge by appearance and "common sense".

      3. You assume that the article was on page 1 since it was posted. I can't really be sure about this exact example, but I get traffic from a lot of related keywords with all of my sites. Even if your main keyword doesn't bring in as much as you hoped, you can still get a good amount of traffic.

With this method, you can almost always rank on page 1 without link building, so it's up to you to get some backlinks and move up if you want to get a larger chunk of the traffic. I recommend that you read Jon Leger's post here: Is ranking in the top 10 good enough? : Jonathan Leger

      4. Actually, I mostly use Warriors for my article writing and I usually get 10 articles written for around $30.

Yes, I still have some keywords left and I'll PM you shortly

      Cheers,

      Josip

      Hi Gary,

I admit that I do a lot of things without testing, but this is something that I tested patiently. The answer is: YES! .com, .net and .org domains will, if all other factors are the same, rank better than .info domains.

.info domains don't get that extra boost in ranking. This, however, doesn't mean that you can't rank good with .info domains, it just means that you'll need to work a bit harder. Also, strictly talking about the method I use and that I have described here, .info domains aren't much good.

      Cheers,

      Josip

Plus, .com, .org, and .net domains will be worth more than a .info if you end up flipping any of these niche sites for a good profit down the road.

That's another thing I like about this method. With websites selling sometimes for 8-10x monthly revenue, even if you have a site that isn't making much (like $100 a month) you can just flip it for a few hundred and start over on a new site.

I've mentioned this somewhere in the thread, I just don't know where

When I said static sites, I meant static Wordpress sites - self hosted WP sites consisting out of pages, not posts.

For self-hosted Wordpress, just use Fantastico Deluxe which should come with your hosting if you use a service like Host Gator. It's really easy to do, just search Google for how to install Wordpress using Fantastico and I'm sure you can find a video or tutorial to walk you through it.

As far as FTP, I use FileZilla and it works well for me.

I've been using this method a lot recently too and it definitely does work. I'm not able to make 1 site a day of course, but that's because I have other stuff going on at the same time.

To anyone that hasn't done this method yet: Just try it. You will be surprised how easily you rank with an exact match domain.

Also make sure you put the exact keyword phrase in the title, description, and in the articles you write for the site too.

I don't have an exact blueprint that I use. I improvise and see what happens.

Sometimes, I scroll through Amazon categories and enter product names into Google Keyword Tool. I then check each 2-word and 3-word keyword to see if there's an exact match domain available. I always find something

Or, you could enter a keyword of the top of your head and see where that leads you. IMO, it ain't rocket science!

      Cheers,

      Josip

If you are still offering Keywords. Please let me know. I cant send pm. I would love to try out these methods. I just learned how to use wordpress this week.

Also is there like a robot program that can research good keywords and put them together in domain format and tell you what is available? Like .com or .net?

    Thanks.

I use the free version of Free Traffic System and it works great for me. Also, 1waylinks is something that I absolutely love and have had crazy success with.

I can't tell you what you should do, 'cause you have to create your own comprehensive link building strategy. What you feel works for you...

Just drop me a line and I'll send you the keywords. (some are product-based, some are general keywords, but all are what I consider money keywords)

    Cheers,

    Josip
I'm a little too late on getting a couple keywords from you - but was wondering if I could pick your brain a little.

What has been the most influential piece of literature you have read - that helped you the most to make money?

I'm giving this a shot here with a couple of my domains; but I'm not sure the best way to set up my own page and its layout/theme. Some claim my links are not blue - but how can you change this in WordPress? Do you see any other problems with my approach?

    Are you available for mentoring?

And lastly - what do you read for ideas on creating new niches?

I still have some keywords left, so if you want a few, just let me know!

The strongest recommendation that I can make is that you read Jon Leger's blog from start to finish: Jonathan Leger

I use a lot of his services and his internet marketing and SEO advice has really helped me do some extremely awesome things!

For all those who aren't sure about theme layout for this method, I recommend using the default WP theme or something similar in layout type. I like to keep things simple, focused and flash-free.

You can check out the link in my sig - I provide 100% quality content and my subscribers can always reach me by email and talk about stuff

For niche ideas, I browse through affiliate programs like CJ and Amazon, insert keywords into the Google Keyword Tool and see what happens.

      Cheers,

      Josip

One question please about the tlds for your keydomains:

Could you find out any distinctions in rankings by using the different tlds com/net/org ? Does the .orgs rank better or convert better ?
Which one is your favourite ?

It has been my experience that all 3 rank roughly the same. If I can get the .com first, that would be ideal, if not - I really don't care. All 3 are good

I can't give you any clear indication of conversions, they all perform in a similar manner no matter what extension it is.

First I have to give a shout out to Zagreb, Croatia I have a really good friend that lives close by. Anyway great information Josip that you are sharing. I have been using this method for a few months and yes it really works.

I did make a big mistake early on by picking the wrong keywords and not making any sales from those sites but as soon as I learned how to really do keyword research and find the money keywords thats when the results started to come in.

So guys this is a really good system he is sharing with us.

Josip, thank you for your info. I've been trying something similar lately, and although I've chosen several keywords and built sites around them using exact match domains, I'm still not seeing more than about $10 a month from any one site (and that's being generous). This is certainly because I'm not making it onto the first page of the search results, and I've been writing articles and getting links to these sites. The ranking of the sites are staying pretty steady though, and one of the sites is now almost 6 months old.

I wonder if I've not quite got the hang of what makes a "buying" keyword. And I'm not sure why I can't seem to crack the first page. The sites are nice sites, and I write decent copy.

Are there any tips you have for me?

          Hi Josip, great thread!

          A couple of questions:

          1. In your opinion, does it matter if I use a hyphen in my domain name?
So for example keyword1-keyword2.com instead of keyword1keyword2.com?

          2. How long do your sites usually take to rank on the first page?

I've selected some keywords that seem very doable to me but so far none of my sites have ranked in google yet (not first 100 pages anyway, they are indexed, as shown by site:url). It's been about 2 weeks now, I'm just guessing I need to wait a little bit more?

I would also greatly appreciate a keyword from you so that I can learn which keywords are suitable. Cheers!

Thank you for all the great info you have shared thus far.
I usually make the other pages about other complimentary products or another product by the same company. Example: xyz digital watch may be my primary keyword, xyz being the brand name or company. I would make additional pages by looking into Google's Keyword Tool for other high search terms like xyz dive watch and xyz watch bands.

            1. For the purpose of this method, the hyphen is not good. Only non-hyphenated domain names work for giving such a considerable boost in the search rankings.

            2. If the first page is full of shopping results, Amazon pages and sites with less than 500 links, my site gets on page one within a week or two. It helps to spread out the content and post it to your site every 3-4 days.

Yes, you should be patient, but my experience has been that Google will rank and index my sites within a week or so on the outside.

Your keywords are on the way

Of course not. Sites that sit on #9 and #10 can't make this type of money. After doing some link building, the sites start to climb up page 1 and usually I start seeing some serious earnings in after a month or two.

Yes, a lot of the times all three are unavailable, but that doesn't mean that .com/.net/.org domains have been registered for all high-volume keywords.

.com, .net and .org are equal in their power. I don't use .info.

      Exact match

I'll give you an example: I recently built a site for an extreme sport keyword. I registered an exact match domain - .org.

The primary keyword has 27,100 searches according to Google Keyword Tool. I was #10 on page 1 in a matter of days. Also, my site is on page 2 for keywords with 40,500 and 18,100 monthly searches.

All I need to do now is slowly build some quality backlinks and I'll get to the middle of page 1 for all three keywords.

In my mind, all limitations are self-imposed

Excellent!! I look forward to hearing about your results

Just to mention that it should be extremely easy to rank for that specific keyword because of the competition on page 1 of google. 8 out of 10 webpages have less than 20 backlinks. Mostly pages ranking because of the authority of the entire site, not that specific page.

Be careful not to waste your time too much.

People will always take stuff for free - even if they don't use it.

I would suggest that if you want to do this and actually want to help people - make them put some skin in the game by giving you feedback about what they've done with the information you give them. If they don't - don't give them any more.

This way time-wasters won't get to abuse your generosity twice and you'll get to know who you've helped.

I am well aware that a bunch of people won't do anything with the stuff I've given. I did this for those who will.

Also, there is a selfish reason why I did this -> it FEELS GOOD to give without asking or expecting anything in return.

    Hi Josip,

Thanks for the outline. I did something like you basically describe in your post late last year. After choosing the wrong keyword, spending too much time on building my wordpress site (fist time using wordpress) and making it look "perfect" but not putting enough content on it (was just a one pager with all the items I was promoting), it was a flop. I even ended up spending lots of time building close to 250 backlinks from blogs to it, and I could not get it on the first page of google. Yahoo seemed to like it, as it was on the first and second page for certain keywords. I was getting "ok" traffic to it, but could not convert the traffic for a hot Amazon product.

Needless to say, I gave up on the method, thinking the system was flawed.

After seeing your outline, I can see where I messed up (the devil is in the details as they say) and I'm going to give it a go again. At this point, I will not spend much time on each site.

Anyways, I have a couple questions for you, how many affiliate links do you put on the front and each additional pages for the item you are promoting? How often do you mention your exact name keyword you are trying to target on each product page? Do you put affiliate links in the body of your content or on a side bar?

    Thanks!

I normally put 1 link at the top of the homepage article and 1 link at the bottom. Also, I sometimes put 1 link in the sidebar among the links to other pages on the site.

I mention the exact keyword at least 2 times, but usually I outsource the articles and I post them without changing them. Whenever I can, I remind myself that I need to keep things simple. Worrying about every little thing isn't simple

All the best with implementing this method again!

      Cheers,

      Josip

Thanks for this great information but I have one questions.

When you first launch your website before it is index you do not do any backlinking at all? Then once the website is indexed than you start your free traffic system or 1waylinks campaigns right?

How do you get your websites indexed without backlinks?

You don't always have to have backlinks to index a site. Google can index new domains on its own. All of my niche sites, so far, have been indexed without backlinks, all in less than 2 weeks.

Josip, thank you for your insight.

I am new to AM and have been getting bogged down with all the info out there. Your method and generosity has given me the push to just get started. I have created a list of keywords based on your criteria.

Josip, I would like to PM you but don't have enough posts. How can I send you a message?

Josip, thanks for the keywords in the week and all the helpful posts, i've started a site this weekend for the first of the keywords and registered the domain.

one question i have is about url redirection, basically i have domain registered with one provider and at the moment i'm using some free hosting with xtreemhost just to test the waters and will change to paid hosting when i start generating some income.

My domain provider offers http redirection or frame redirection, which is best to use and? also how can i then submit my url to google when using redirection as i cant seem to get the verification process to work via google webmaster tools or will my blog just get submitted when my sitemap is built and pinged to google?

You need to see what the nameservers are for your hosting account and enter them into your domain provider account.

I may be missing something, but I think you just need to update your nameserver info in your account, no redirection required.

          Hi Plato,

I almost never cloak links, and all the links are dofollow.

Cloaking links is too much trouble when it comes to affiliate programs like Amazon and CJ.

Yeah, I've been told that very same thing about two dozen times over the past few days. I will probably create a product around this concept, but it will have to be something with video tutorials and it may take me awhile(video scares me a bit..LOL!).

                  Hi Mark,

The site will move up in rankings in the next few days and weeks, so you don't have to worry about that.

                  Here are my initial suggestions:

                  1. Change the theme. This one is far too wide and it's very hard to read like this.

                  2. Put some original content. As far as I can see, all you did is copy/paste the content from Amazon. You're not doing anyone a service by having a site like that. Try to see it from the perspective of the visitor and see if your site would add value if it got to page 1 of Google.

                  3. Less posts and more content in each. If you have decided to go with posts as opposed to a static site with pages, I would have more content in each post and less posts altogether.

                  4. Remove the comment section from all posts.

                  5. Change permalinks. Log into your Wordpress admin area and go to Settings -> Permalinks - and click on Custom Structure. In the field on the right, enter %postname% - this will change the way your URL's look and make them more user friendly and search engine friendly.

                  6. Create a privacy policy and contact form.

                  Privacy Policy Plugin For WordPress
WordPress › Contact Form 7 WordPress Plugins

                  7. Remove those default Wordpress links from the sidebar and enter links to all your pages and posts.

                  8. Create a sitemap.

WordPress › Google XML Sitemaps WordPress Plugins

                  9. Submit your site and sitemap to Google Webmaster Tools.

Whatever step needs further explanation, just ask.

                  Cheers,

                  Josip

            Josip,

After reading through this great material again, I see I have one question that I don't see answered.

How long are your articles? About how many words do you aim for on
your first page? What about the other pages?

For instance, if you have a 500 word article on your first page, do you need ones as long on subsequent pages?

                Hi CatherineMay,

I try to make articles at least 300 words long. You really don't have to worry about things like length as long as your article is informative and serves its purpose. Trust me, your visitors won't care how long your articles are - they need value and quality info.

There's really no point in making an article longer than it has to be. The same goes for the additional pages.

                Cheers,

                Josip

                      1) Just curious why you use pages instead of posts? Do you think there is an SEO benefit or that's just they way you've always done it?

                      2) Do you only build backlinks to the domain/main page or do you target the other inner pages as well?

You inspired me to give this a go mate. I found a good keyword and domain with 13K searches but it's a company name + keyword. I've never done that before so am a bit wary of the company busting my a$$ but thought it would be a good test of your methods. If they take it off me it's only $7 for the domain .

Cool post, I love to read how people are really doing it and having success. Your method is like that described in the Auto Content Cash system. They do this with Wordpress blogs and use some plugins to generate a lot of the content and reduce the work.

    Great topic!

How do you make your visitors purchase products? Do you include a text link to amazon, or a little a picture? Or do you put a "Buy from Amazon" button on your blog?

    Thanks

      Hi Gary,

I normally just include text links at the top, the bottom and sometimes even in the sidebar. Also, I link all the product images to the affiliate page.

I try to keep it simple, 'cause I really dislike doing split-testing. Text links and images(if available) are my choice.

      Cheers,

Josip, this has been a very interesting thread. I remember I was trying to do this a while back, but with blogspot.com and I never really got anything off the ground. So now maybe I'll try this with actually domains, with the exact keywords.

Well, I like watches (and I believe we should only write about what we are interested in) so I used the Google external keyword tool last night and found a really good combination involving a company name, and a specific type of watch they sell. It has about 27,000 searches a month, and about 95,000 results. Page 1 has a couple Amazon results, a Nextag, and other watch shops. These seem like decent odds to me, but maybe I should wait and aim higher with something else?

Here's one thing I'm wondering. In your opinion would it be worth going for this, and if so would you suggest trying to monetize the site with Adsense?

Also, I'm still haven't delved all too far into the world of doing research, so how can I find out how many back-links my competition have? Is that part of the Google tools?

Ok, this may be more of a newb question but, I see that GoDaddy has wordpress hosting. Are there big drawbacks to using that as opposed to self hosting? Just one more thing. Let's say that you were up against one or two pretty big sites that had lots of pages, showing up on page 1 of engines such as Google. Would you still go for it (With any site)?

Thanks, I know I ask a lot! Also, congratulations on being able to do this

The way I understand it (from reading, and from looking at page one SERPS all the time) is that a regular domain you own will outrank most other sites, presuming everything else is roughly equal (Clearly I'm not going to beat 'Wikipedia'...) I've never had any luck at all getting Web 2.0 properties to the front page, not saying it can't be done, it quite obviously can... but I'm of the opinion that heavy backlinking is required.

Well, I like watches (and I believe we should only write about what we are interested in) so I used the Google external keyword tool last night and found a really good combination involving a company name, and a specific type of watch they sell. I'm still feeling my way through this as well - and my *opinion*, not based on experience, is that I'm comfortable when I see some Hubpages, Ezinearticles, and the like... not sure I'd like to compete against a 1st page filled with shopping category websites, but this is something I'd hope Josip addresses in more detail.

Here's one thing I'm wondering. In your opinion would it be worth going for this, and if so would you suggest trying to monetize the site with Adsense?
Only if you have no luck with affiliate products! Perhaps others will disagree, and perhaps they'd do so on the basis of more experience, so I'd defer - but I see Adsense websites being sold all the time on the basis of a dollar or two a day earnings... Just one or two sales a month of an affiliate product will beat that.

Also, I'm still haven't delved all too far into the world of doing research, so how can I find out how many back-links my competition have? Is that part of the Google tools?
Never us Google to check backlinks - they know about 'em, but they won't give you the information. Go to Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer and you'll be able to check backlinks. There's also a number of other websites - just Google for "Backlink Checker" or similar. I'm a fan of Market Samurai, which also helps me with this...

Ok, this may be more of a newb question but, I see that GoDaddy has wordpress hosting. Are there big drawbacks to using that as opposed to self hosting?
Yes. First, GoDaddy doesn't use standardized hosting - so many scripts simply won't work. Second, never host where you buy your domain name. Keep the two separate. Horror stories have been passed around about hosting companies folding up, and taking your domain name with it. Godaddy is fine for getting your domain names, but I'd never host there... personal opinion, naturally.

Just one more thing. Let's say that you were up against one or two pretty big sites that had lots of pages, showing up on page 1 of engines such as Google. Would you still go for it (With any site)?
That's definitely a question for Josip - I don't have the experience or knowledge to offer an opinion.

Thanks, I know I ask a lot! Also, congratulations on being able to do this
Ditto from me - Josip has inspired me, and I have this thread bookmarked.

This method is not very different from other methods people use for niche marketing, the major difference is that with this method we rely on an exact match domain to give us a serious boost in the search engines. Everything else can be modified(1 page or 10 pages, review site or general articles, standard blog setup or static looking pages), but we need exact match domains to avoid doing a lot of link building and SEO.

This is a type of keyword that I like a lot - high search volume & shopping sites on page 1. This means that those pages are ranking due to the authority of the site, not the page itself. Usually, these pages have very little backlinks. An exact match domain normally should do the trick for instant page 1 placement - then some slow link building to move it up.

I don't like Adsense all that much and I usually first try to make it work with affiliate products. If that doesn't work, I see how well Adsense performs.

I use Site Explorer - Yahoo! Site Explorer to see how many backlinks the competing sites have and I also use Backlinks Checker Tool - Backlink Watch to see the anchor text of their backlinks.

I recommend getting SEO for Firefox Extension: Free SEO Toolbar Firefox Browser Plugin - it helps to analyze first page competition very fast.

I recommend hosting your sites with Hostgator or Bluehost. Other than that, I can't comment. Also, as Khadaji said, you should never host sites where you buy your domains.

If you are referring to sites like Amazon, as long as the page that is ranking doesn't have a lot of backlinks, you can outrank it.

      Cheers,

      Josip

It all depends on where they are situated on page 1. I have a site that is ranking on page 1 for a keyword with 31,000 estimated searches and it only gets about 2,500 visits per month, because it's in the #6 spot and most of the traffic goes to the #1 spot. I really don't know what the average traffic is for my sites, but I'll take a look and do some math

I like more specific product keywords, but I don't hesitate to build a site for more general keywords. I have some sites that are total losers when it comes to how much they make, so the key is in replication and duplication. Build more sites...

Here are some of my observations:

      a) too much Adsense - when I use Adsense on my sites, I only use one ad block. I'll quote Jonathan Leger on this one: "A 336Ã--280 ad block just above the content is the best place to put AdSense, hands down."

      b) mixing Adsense and affiliate products is not a very smart idea most of the time. I recommend that you try it with only one of them and test it.

      c) the site looks a bit unprofessional - this is mostly because of the large amount of Adsense and because you haven't linked to your other pages from the homepage.

      d) I got the feeling that your text did more to convince the reader that they don't know what they really want and that they should take more time to figure it out, instead of giving them things to choose from.

However, it sounds to me that your biggest problem might be traffic. All of these little things don't really matter if you don't have a solid quantity of traffic.

I use pages because I want the look and feel of a static site - no interactions via comments and other stuff that goes with posts. No SEO benefit from doing so.

I recommend building backlinks to all pages you want to rank. Doesn't have to be a lot of backlinks, you can determine that after you see your initial rankings. Personally, I always build backlinks to all pages, but the homepage does get the biggest portion.

I understand how this might be an issue. I don't have any sites related to jewelry, but I would try to make it work with my normal setup. If that doesn't work, I'd go and find a pink WP theme

    Hi Josip,

thanks very much for the info on this thread.

I tried something similar (the "clickbump" method) and would very much like to know what I'm doing wrong, because I'm losing money (in a year, I won't even make the cost of domain registration on my 5 test sites of this type). The only difference I am aware of with your method is that you are doing several pages, where as the method I was using for these is only a 1-page site (+ privacy policy, about-us and contact-us).

I am getting most sites around the middle of page #1 no problem, but still lose money, so . . .

And here is another little tip if the exact phrase you want for your domain name is already taken:

Thanks for your advice Josip, as you say, more traffic is what I need, so . . . I have just put up a new site following your method here, which I presume will get more traffic than my previous sites as for this one Google says there are 49,500 global monthly searches for the Exact keyphrase (my domain is of course exact keyphrase, no hyphens, .org).

Will be interesting to see how much traffic this one gets! There are two irrelevant pages with few backlinks near the top of the search-results, so I think I should be able to get to a decent position on page #1. It's a good product with a good price, so I have high hopes of success with this

I don't really focus on the competition numbers. The only real issue is the 10 sites on page 1 of Google. How many backlinks they have, what kind of sites are they and how old they are - that is my main guideline.

I sometimes rank easily for keywords with tens of millions of results and sometimes have a hard time ranking where there are only 50 thousand. So the only question here is the strength of the first ten results on page 1.

As for keywords with 0 local monthly searches, I try to avoid them. However, I do have a few sites that fit this case and some of them perform really well and the traffic is back up(one of the sites was a complete bust - the keyword was very popular for a while, but faded out). I recommend following your intuition on this one.

I have one question regarding domain names.
For example, lets say that keyword is blue widgets, you are suggesting

You have also said that you do not recommend hyphens.
How about purchasing ebluewidgets.com or mybluewidgets.com

        That's a great post Josip!

Have you tested your system using subdomains as well?

Many thanks for your great post.
I have one question regarding domain names.
For example, lets say that keyword is blue widgets, you are suggesting
to purchase bluewidgets.com .net or .org.
You have also said that you do not recommend hyphens.
How about purchasing ebluewidgets.com or mybluewidgets.com
          or bluewidgets1.com or bluewidgets4y.com etc...

          Thanks again.
I have tested domains with hyphens and with extra words - they don't have the same effect as having an EXACT MATCH DOMAIN. You can do whatever you want, but the effects will be different.

Subdomains, Squidoo lenses, hubpages, blogspot blogs, Wordpress blogs....

Having an EXACT MATCH DOMAIN beats all of it and gives better results!

          Cheers,

Thanks for replying, one more question, any specific niches to target?

Nothing specific. Whatever you can find that sells on Amazon, Clickbank, CJ...

Judge by the keyword, not the niche.

              Cheers,

    Hey Josip,

Brilliant thread! Not just the first post but all your answers - Very helpful

I was just wondering if you have many affiliates for the FreeTrafficSystem to work so well? It's not your site is it...

How long do you find your sites are ranked on the first page? Do they get slapped after a while?

Thanks mate! Yeah, I do have a very large downline in FTS. To be honest, 1waylinks is more reliable than FreeTrafficSystem, but free is free

The beauty of exact match domains is that they stick. The rankings are long-term, that's for sure!

As for the slap...well, I have a site that's 2,5 years old, exact match domain, and it's still on page 1.

      Cheers,

      Josip

Thanks for clarifying! Anyone without without that big downstream network in FTS shouldn't be put off, you'll just need to put in some extra elbow grease in the backlinking department.

Have you tried incorporating FTS and 1waylink autoblogs on each of your sites, or does that ruin the integrity of the sites? I haven't really seen this sort of distribution system before but I assume the articles are pretty crap quality and often irrelevant?

I have special sites set up as donor blogs for 1waylinks and FTS. I don't like to use my money sites for this because the content that gets posted isn't of interest or value to my visitors.

      Cheers,

For anyone trying this method, here is a great tool for checking domains:

Ajax Whois 2.0 - fast domain name search and whois

It's ultra fast and should save you a fair bit of time over the span of your internet marketing career

More question from the noob end of the scale...

        1. What comes first in your process, finding an available keyword domain or a product to promote?

        2. Can you give me an idea of how much I should expect to pay to have a 300 word article written?

As a noob, this thread has been a real gold mine of info and as soon as I figure out how to use the forum 'Thank You' thingy I will but, for now I'll just say, THANKS Josip!

I am not worried about getting sued, but it's always good to go to the company website and view their terms of service and other agreements. As I see it, if you create a quality website that gives the visitor exactly what he/she searched for and you make a sale for the company/vendor, getting sued is the last thing that will happen.

However, as I am a believer in the law of attraction, I advise anyone who is worried about using brand names and getting sued - NOT TO USE THEM!

Sorry, but this is all I can provide you with at the moment. Folks have been pushing me to do a WSO on this method, so until then...

          1. Keyword research is number one and then I see how to make it work(whether or not there are affiliate products to promote - adsense as a last resort).

          2. If you order articles from someone at the Warrior Forum, you can get 10 articles for $30-40. Check out the Warriors For Hire section.

          My pleasure to help

          Cheers,
