I thought we could start a little thread here for people who are struggling online!

What's the best advice you can give you newbies and people who are struggling to make a cent online?

Post your advice here on this thread

Mark, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but there have been MANY threads posted here with ALL sorts of advice for newbies. The only problem is that most newbies (and I am not referring to you) do not participate in those threads. The ones that DO are actually the ones who are very serious about IM.

Now as per your post. I really do not think there is any specific rule with regards to what to and not to do in order to make money online. I happen to believe that it is a pretty individualized experience. What has made me money does not necessarily mean that it made, Moe, Larry or Curly any money. In addition it also depends greatly on the method used to approach any particular business venture. And of course we can not forget the mindset of the person. Those who succeed do so because they are FOCUSED on success, they try different things until they figure out which one will generate money for them. The mind is indeed a very Powerful thing.

I always suggest that beginners read, learn, educate themselves, ask questions, set a goal and a plan of action and ACT. This entails a lot of work. So all those beginners that are believing the "Get rich quick schemes" are going to fall VERY far behind and will quit soon enough. The world was not built in a day and neither were the most successful businesses. It took time, hard work, dedication and TONS of patience.

WOW, I think I kind of went overboard. OH WELL, I hope that you and other beginners do take this seriously. Because for many of us, it is a serious business!!

lol yeah I hear what you're saying.

and no I'm not a beginner despite my age :-) lol

and as for you john, 10 years ago I was 8 years old.. a little young for internet marketing lol, however cheers for the input!

I appreciate that yeah, newbies need to learn and master stuff, and they need the correct mindset and all that, I'm just suggesting a few random cool bits of info that could help people out.

    Here's my input / advice:

Don't dive in at the deep end...keep your advertising costs low but consistent, you want a steady, consistent and growing stream of visitors/prospects...

    Also educate yourself :-)

Hey Andy, I hope I wasn't too harsh... and Mark I was just reading another thread that has a lot of juicy information. It was started by Karl one of the experienced warriors and it is a rather interactive thread where EVERYONE seems to be participating. There are people asking questions and experienced warriors like Karl, Becky, among others are answering. I hope this helps you (although you just told be you are not a newbie, but just in case, ) and others get many questions answered.

    Mark,

What Andy means is - there is already a ton of valuable information gathered over ten years. It's still here. You / others will benefit far more from doing some searching than trying to reinvent the wheel.

Andy - If I'm wrong, feel free to hit me.

Mark - you say that aren't new, working system etc - but you have a link that tells people how to make millions on line.

And on your squeeze page you have an advert at the top from T Mobile. And an affiliate link at the bottom.

If you've made millions online, great - but it sounds hollow with a thread like this and that squeeze page.

I'm not trying to be harsh - but what you are saying doesn't add up.

I'm not the guy making millions online lol I'll admit that

I give away a link to a cool video of a guy who is making millions online.

That's just a quick landing page I threw up a few days back, and I'll admit yeah,
I should probably do myself a favour and get rid of the free ads lol, but hey why pay to get rid of something if it's working well as it is.

and yeah I think you are being a bit harsh to be honest,
I'm only trying to help out here lol

Do you KNOW he's making 'millions'?

A lot of people appear to be, or say they are - but that's different to knowing they do.

Getting back to the original post at the top of the thread -

Yes, I'm new at IM and I have recently made my first cent online - WooHOO!! It's FORTY-SIX cents to be more accurate.

But that was two weeks ago, and it hasn't increased any since.

I'm deliberately taking things slowly. My plan is to start with ONE approach and learn as I go along. Once I have a vague idea of what works for me, I intend to do the famous "wash, rinse and repeat" strategy that is mentioned frequently.

So, as my own way to start - I chose to make a blog for the company I work at during the day. I've been posting off and on to it the last year or so and the content is related to the industry I'm in. Now that there are enough posts on there, I decided to make an attempt to monetize it.

I signed up for Adsense and put up some Ad links in the sidebars. They aren't exactly what I want, but it's progress. I've generated two clicks through the ads.

But - my traffic is < 10 visitors a day. My problem, of course, is how to get that up into the hundreds, and hopefully thousands. Yeah, me and everyone else on the forum!

Hey Mark, I'm sorry you feel that way - I get why but you are new to the forum and your page does not promote your own products - it seems to be an opt in that leads to Maverick Money Makers.

Drop the ads, and the affiliate links and you will convert a lot more traffic. Seriously, it will perform a lot better.

I hear you Andy, you've got a good point there, but yeah I'm pretty confident he is lol

Anyway I'm gonna conclude that this thread was a mistake.

    I'm off now, good night!

My suggestion is to treat your business like a business. If you treat it like a hobby, it will pay you like a hobby... oh wait, hobby's cost money.

      Step One
Get yourself right first. If your head is not right, you can not effectively run a business. Set personal goals- exercise, health, family, etc.

      Step Two
      Come up with your idea

      Step Three
Develop your business plan. And the first step is RESEARCH! You can never do too much research. Continuous learning is the key to success. Gather data. Analyze the data.

When you see people making 5 or 6 figures in their first month... yeah right, not the average... actually far from it. Chances are they have been successful in another business first. And chances are they have failed 10 times before... It takes time, even in IM.

      I'm just sayin.

Yeah your definitely right there....nobody makes 5-6 figures their first month...if they claim to they're lieing!

They mite make 5-6 figures the first month of starting a new business, maybe a new program or something, however they'll have failed countless times learning their skill just like anybody else!
