I just completed one of my website and I am looking for some serious feedback - good and bad both. I just launched it couple of days ago, and domain name is less then a week old.

Also, please let me know from SEO perspective what I should (or should not) do.

Domain is in my signature.

Thanks...I will really appreciate your help.

A description of what the site is about would be helpful. Why is this search engine "different"? Also in terms of SEO you don't have any meta tags. I'd figure out what keywords you are going after and put those in the tags.

    Your page title is

    ",thighhighs- find it thru SpotThings.com"

You may want to fix that - not very professional looking.

    The page is very baron.

and one of your links gave me this message:

I think you need to do some work.

This is just a personal opinion, so don't give it any more weight than it deserves...

It appears what you are trying to do with this website will just eventually turn out to be one great big 'time-suck'.

In other words, you will be spending a lot of your 'opportunity resources' flogging this site for little to no reasonable return.

There are thousands of these type of search engines that never develop traction and just fade away. They have very lttle potential.

However, if you refocused the site to concentrate on one very specific niche, and that could be any niche that will continue to hold your interest, you will have a better chance of becoming an authority site in that niche. Not much, but fractionally better.

Trying to be everything to everybody is a recipe for failure.

Bottom line....cut your losses now and concentrate on other sites you have running. You'll thank yourself in the long run.

oouch.... this hurts...but is probably true.

I am a software developer, and not a marketer/salesperson, so I do value your opinion.

But I am confused...because this is completely different from google. I am just wondering if you did a search or not. This is still a work in progress and will take me another couple of weeks to iron out few issues.

I would appreciate if you could search for toyota in vehicles or accountant in jobs and see if you see the difference between this site and other search engines.

Again...please keep these coming because I am making the list, and will be taking your feedback seriously.

        Thanks

To be honest ... I dont really see what your site offers differently than Google or Yahoo. Why would someone use your site and what makes you unique?

Every brand new parent believes that their infant is the best, most beautiful, perfect baby ever.

    Sadly, many are wrong.

Take a step back and listen to Bill's advice. He's correct in his assessment.
