I've had the most success with outsourcing here at warrior forum.

I've also found some good people Freelancer

Other popular places to outsource are:
    elance.com
    Guru.com
    and
    odesk.com

It really all depends on what you need. Different sites have different specialties.

Whatever it is you need to outsource be really careful. I've hired terrible help in the past.

The more you need from your outsourcer the better off you are keeping things local. It might be more expensive, but it can save you a lot of headaches.

I don't mean to put you off of outsourcing, I'm just saying to do your due diligence and if one thing seems off proceed with extreme caution.

Also if you are outsourcing to a fellow warrior make sure they have a reputation and a post count that shows they are active here. Sometimes its possible to get scammed here.

    Good luck with your outsourcing!

It depends on how much you want to pay and whether you want a 'job' outsourced or whether you want to take on an employee. For one time project tasks, I'll hit up elance, guru.com odesk.com etc. If I want an 'employee' I'll go with onlinejobs.ph or even better craigslist in the Philippines.

I would personally go the employee route as it takes them longer to train and set up, but once they are ready to rock, it's just a set and forget situation.

I'll recommend Tyrone Shum's blog which has both interesting and helpful sides of outsourcing especially to the Philippines. I've got heaps of help from this Australian guy and been using his concepts until now through his outsourcing videos. Check his recent blog post:

    Hi landonwiggs,

Why not try outsourcing company, instead of looking for an outsourcing job sites? I suggest to go for staff leasing company instead of a freelancer, like I always say, Staff leasing is better than freelance work because leased staff are permanent workers of a company and are easy to reach in case you need them. Freelancers do not have employers so they do as they please and sometimes cannot be contacted for various reasons.

For the most part, freelance work entails irregular working hours. Although a little pressure motivates the freelancer to keep up, the quality of work expected is compromised. Since freelancers are self-employed, they are naturally in the pursuit of more projects to sustain them. As this is a good motivation, it also limits the freelancer to devote all his mind and time to a project.

Wow really help open my eyes to the importance of outsourcing. THANK YOU everyone. Who is a good minisite & ecover designer for a good decent price?

The current person I'm outsourcing to, cannot deliver what I want. I don't appreciate attitude. It just shows that some cannot deliver with the workload they keep taking in.

      Thank You for your help.

      Shawn.

Second elance.com for writing. Personally, I am both sides (buyer and seller) and the ones I recommend are:

    elance.com
    freelancer.com
    guru.com

Guru.com is great in that you are literally only seeing highly qualified professionals. There is quite a lot involved in getting a profile 100% complete from the seller side.

There is also the warriors for hire section where you can find many decent content writers so that'd definitely be worth checking out.

    Hope that helps.

    Hey Landon,

Personally I use eLance.com to outsource the stuff I don't like doing.

I've found putting the following copy towards the end of the posting gets me quality bids for reasonable pricing...

"This shouldn't take too long for people who know what they are doing."

    Hope that helps.

    David.

Funny... it wasn't that long ago that Rent A Coder was the holy grail.

      How times have changed

Your best bet is to search the Warriors For Hire forum, but make sure that they have a good reputation.

I've been ripped off a few times on here.

Personally, I use OnlineJobs.ph for almost all of my hiring. I use the site to get full time workers. I comb through it to find writers or I post a job and reference a video presentation about what I'm looking for so good writers come to me.

If I need extra writing done that my team can't handle (workload, or special topics) then I will outsource it to a freelancer. Just started looking at Textbroker. Some very good American writers at reasonable prices.

The story behind OnlineJobs.ph (mentioned above)
The guy behind Replace Myself started it after finding that BestJobs.ph, a resume posting site, was no longer accepting American employers.

I've heard good things about the Philippine work ethic from more than one source, as I recall OnlineJobs.ph is not cheap.

      Re: OnlineJobs.ph

It's not CHEAP. It's $47/month if you subscribe. But for members of John's system (ReplaceMyself.com) it's completely free.

I got myself an up-front "forever" membership so I can now hire anyone anytime for no extra fees. I absolutely love this site.

      I reviewed onlinejobs.ph also.

I've used it for literally every hire I've done except for one (where I used BestJobs.ph). I even found an OUTSTANDING freelancer there by posting a job. I still use the guy every week. He's my go-to web designer and graphics guy. He even formats PDFs for me!

I'm in love with the Philippines. Sure, there are rough patches with people at times, but I've found some really great people.

I for one use job posting sites of the top 3 universities here in the Philippines for students and alumni, though I mostly go with alumni, apart from tapping my offline hiring resources, of course, because I own and run an outsourcing firm here in Manila, Philippines, operating since Sept 2006 (see my sig for my startup story). Top 3 Philippine universities include: (1) the University of the Philippines (went here and got 2 undergraduate degree courses), particularly the University of the Philippines Diliman unit; (2) the Ateneo de Manila University, specifically the campus in Katipunan Ave., near the University of the Philippines Diliman campus; and (3) the De La Salle University, Taft Ave. campus. There are other good universities, like Mapua University, San Beda, Don Bosco, etc. You can Google "job postings for (university here) students and alumni" without quotes to find sites where you can post job openings for students and alumni of these universities to see. Wouldn't know the type of results foreign nationals would get without a brick and mortar presence here in the Philippines though, because interested qualified applicants might doubt the person's credibility, but of course you can test it out and I hope you can update this thread with the results you get.
