question on allowing comments

I have a question about allowing comments on my blog. I understand that spammers are all over the place and I just want to make sure that I am not allowing them to get through. I have Askimet installed on my blog to lessen the threat of spammers. However some comments that are placed in spam by Askimet seem to possibly legitimate comments. So here is my question...how do you tell the difference? I know that many of you have much more experience in deciding which comments are appropriate to add to a site so I am looking to you all for help in this matter. Your input would be greatly appreciated.

    I delete any malicious or degrading comments towards anyone immediately. If there is a valid point being shared the opposing view is always welcome.

    If they aren't exactly on the topic of the post or use title insertion they may look legit at first but are actually automated spam.

    Thanks for responding BG. I get a lot of those types of comments too. I appreciate your examples. I think that I am getting more spam than legit comments. I will handle it by deleting the spam.
