How much would you pay for NerdReview.com?

Hi guys,

I've just had someone ask if I'd sell a domain name for a project I never quite got around to: nerdreview.com

It's a 4 year old domain name, spidered by Google, MSN, Yahoo, Ask, and a few others, and gets between 60 and 80 unique hits per month on a basically empty website.

So it's a nice clean domain name that comes with a bit of instant traffic, and instant search engine spidering attention.

Any thoughts?

  Personally I'd say the 4 years is worth something, so if I REALLY wanted a domain like that, I'd be willing to pay up to about $750 (maybe)....anything higher than that, I'd go look for something similar for $9.

10k seems a little steep... I bought a really similar name a while ago for $70.

  Absolutely. I bought a similiar domain for only $60 some time back. Depends on an individuals evaluation, I guess.

I'd certainly sell it for $10k

He hasn't made an offer yet, but I got a feeling the domain is going to be worth more to me than it is to him.

Let them make the first move, tell them you're willing to sell, for the right price - and leave it at that.

If you have the cash to do something with it, develop it into a gadget review site and you could probably flip if for a fair amount more than the domain alone would bring you.

These lowball offers are off the mark on this domain IMHO. I'd put it up on Sedo if the other guy doesn't buy it. If I were looking to get into a nerdie niche, I'd pay up to $1000 for that domain ... maybe some would pay more. It is a great domain IMHO.

Obviously, it is only worth what someone will pay for it. My educated guess would be somewhere between $750-1250. Because of the domain age and the fact it is a two word domain gives it more value than $100 some were suggesting. Of course no one can be wrong if that is what they would pay. Just trying to help with more of a market value.

Karl Warren has the right idea. Tell the person you don't really want to sell it, but you'll give them one chance to change your mind. Tell them to make their best offer first because they're only getting one shot to convince you to sell, and you'll either accept or reject their offer, you won't negotiate.

Then let them make the offer.

I'm guessing they wont offer more than a couple hundred. I've had people contact me before and that's usually the limit. Did they ever get back to you?

I agree with sbucciarel the domain certainly is great.

It may also be a premium domain. You can post about it on premium domain auctions sites like sedo and see what you get.

depends on the buyer. huge ipo types don't exist much any more. sold one 15 yrs back for $20K once and thought they were stealing it.

this one. it sounds like the neighbors teens are up to something. if its already got traffic at least $500.
