Dreamhost 94% Off sale, ends today

Sorry Al, but I can not recommend Dreamhost as a hosting company at any price. Hands down worst hosting company I've ever dealt with and I've dealt with probably 20-25 of them both personally and professionally.

I had a reseller account with them about 2 years ago now and they were terrible.

Non-standard Cpanel and MySQL which meant almost every 3rd party script didn't work right.

Email went down 2-3 times per day. (Their tech support told me it must have been my internet connection.

)

My sites went down daily as well.

They hit my credit card 4 months early for the next years payment "because of a computer glitch".

The final straw was WordPress had a hacker attack and I needed to quickly upgrade my blog sites. Except Dreamhost didn't offer a click upgrade for WordPress installations. I contacted their tech support for help. I even offered to pay for their help to upgrade my 2 blog sites and got an email back refusing to help and that "I should just go figure it out myself."

I cancelled my account and never looked back.

I believe this is worthy of note. I was thinking of signing up with them too but with this...Guess what...!

They are terrible. They charge for phone support that you can get free with other services.

Someone wanted me to manage their sites - which have been wordpress MU blogs. A complete disaster - and I love wordpress so guess where the issue is?:rolleyes:

I've signed up, I needed a new domain so for $9 for the year hosting including a free .com domain it seemed like quite a good deal! Even if you don't use the hosting that much it's worth it with the free domain as well!

Yeah, I have heard of this coupon code indeed. However, if you renew your hosting plan next year, you will find that the price in DreamHost is really high.

I've been with Dreamhost for about four years now - and they've been great. There have been a couple of hiccups, but nothing super-serious that wasn't my own fault.

I highly recommend them.

I got what I believed was a great offer from Dreamhost, free hosting for 2 years for anybody who had a geocities account which was beig closed down at the time. I found that I could not run a worpress blog that go even 100 visitors a day as it would crash and take out all my sites.

I now only run html sites that get very little traffic and parked domains. They also have a horrible control panel, no cpanel.

There is no way I would pay for this service.
