Client Shows Up Twice In Google Places/Maps/LBC

My client shows one time for his business name, and once for his name (he's a doctor). He's verified the listing with his business name.

All the reviews are under his business name listing and none under his unverified personal name listing.

My concern is people looking for the doctor by name and coming across this listing which is incomplete. What would you do?

    Hi Chris,

You should beable to "claim" the other listing & either correct / complete the listing or delete it all together to end any confusion...I have never tried this...but it should work...

Log into your google local business account.
Click on "add a new account".
Type in the name of the doctor exactly as it is listed in the Google listing you want to fix.
It should respond by saying a listing already exists...."claim this listing"...click that.
It will take you to where you can make edits or delete the account...
Once you make your corrections or what ever you want to do in there....go to the next step...

It should ask for verification again...by phone or by mail......select the phone option.
(You will need to enter a phone number where you or the doctor can be reached....i would use the actual doctors phone number....call ahead to the receptionist & infom him/her of an incoming automated call from google...to copy the verification code & call you back with it..)

Once it's verified again the listing will start showing with the corrected info or if you deleted the account...it will no longer show...

*Check first the other listing...the one that you want to change or delete....is there a phone numbr on it? is it your doctors phone?
There may be a chance that you may not bable to edit the phone number & when it goes to verify it will automatically call the wrong number....(they should do this to protect the listing from having just anyone come in & claim or edit competitors listings)
If this is the case...contact Google...explain the situtaion, thyat it's a bogus listing & someone else created it (show the lack of info & difference in phone numbers)...they should beable to pull that listing...
Like I said...I have never tried this completely...hope it works...

    Good luck,
    ~Ken

I figure this might be the case.

Here's the issue in my mind...many people will search for the doctor by name only (I've seen his web stats), and not by his Business name. If I delete it, then the Google Place under his name won't pop up anymore.

And you're right...I bet Google won't allow the same phone number twice. Even if they do (and I'll test it) then you run into the issue of reviews showing up under one or the other Google Places listing instead of being consolidated under one listings that's tweaked out in every way possible (pictures, videos, etc.).
