Garbage characters when printing PDFs

Hey Warriors,

I've noticed this from time to time.

A PDF will look ok when reading on screen, but will produce garbage characters when printed.

Sometimes it will be almost all of the text; other times, only section or page headings.

Why is this happening, and how can I prevent it?

Just to be clear, I'm talking about ebooks that I have purchased here and other places, or free reports.

Hey Darrel maybe it was the way it was compiled. I mean if you can print a pdf fine on your computer, that rules out your printer and windows, but if its certain ones then it has to be how they compiled it

    Jon,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

I've had this happen with IRS documents too, once in a while, on different computer/printer combinations.

I just purchased a couple of helpful reports from a fellow Warrior, and had this issue come up again. Perhaps I'll contact him directly and see if he has any ideas.

That was an "obvious" answer that I had not considered.

After trying a few of the solutions mentioned there, I decided to try an alternative PDF reader: Perfect PDF Reader.

        It worked! No garbage characters.

Appreciate the help guys... it sparked my thinking to finally try a different piece of software.
