Find out where are a websites backlinks coming from?

by Adam Roy 2 replies
I know there was a way to search for links to a particular website.

It was recently discussed here in the WF and it involved a code into the google search bar.
something like site:www.theirdomain.com linksto:.edu I'm not actually sure I know I should have saved it when I found it.

It was a thread starter, not a post and I believe I came across it last night.

Does anybody know how to lookup the backlinks pointing to a site?

Not how many, but where the backlinks are coming from that way I can go there and get some backlinks as well?

Just use SEO for Firefox from SEOBook.com - it gives you plenty more data and a link you can click that'll show you the right commands

    In Google I usually use:

    linkto:www.DomainName.com

There might be better ways, but this works for me.
