Here is my site:
RMM.com Home

Notice at the bottom I have three boxes that are all discombobulated? Can someone please explain to me how I can center align these.

It is proving extremely difficult for myself

Thanks in advance,

Breanne

  • Breanne, first of all your home page is beautiful, as a girl I can actually say it. Of course male IMers will probably have a better way to describe it.

As for the boxes, I am not sure if you fixed the problem but they seem to look fine to me. NO discombobulation here. Maybe its your browser. Don't know, let's see what other warriors think.

Your bottom bit isn't lined up correctly if thats what you mean I think that is what you mean anyway. You need to push it over by about 7 pixels, you have margin left 83 right now, needs to be a bit more to line up with the rest. Not sure if thats what you meant tho.

      (I am using firefox.)

Ie will require different css to align it up properly.

Very kind of you, I really appreciate that compliment because it has taken me forever to put this site together, and it is my first one haha...so thank you so much.

But yeah, I'm still having issues with the three boxes on my home page, every other page they seem to be fine....but they are messed up on the homepage...not sure why.

Anyways, shoot me a message if anyone has an answer...you will be my hero. Thanks again!

I just took a peek at it and it's centered for me as well. Running Firefox here.

If you've recently changed the coding, your browser might be storing the original version in cache. If that's the case all you have to do is clear your browser cache and it should appear properly.

Again, that is if it is a browser issues which it may not be.

Can you please explain how I can do this? I'm running out of options and patience lolz, so I'll try anything.

I know this doesn't directly relate to your current problem but you may have 2 more, so just a heads up...

        - Your video is laggy, so you audio doesn't match up to the video

        and...

        - Your text underneath the video is to small.

Also, read about the difference of CSS in internet explorer and other browsers, IE has some different coding needed. Not sure what because I am not a programmer but I know you need to create different css files for certain IE's

Thank ye, yeah though, I'm aware of those...the video took over the course of two 1/2 months to make..so its good enough for now until I start making alittle money...the audio is perfectly fine, and the results are the same so I'm not going to worry about it, I have too much on my mind as it is. I plan on remaking it, 10 times better in the future...but for now I am fine with it.

The text I planned on enlarging once I figured these damned three boxes out. They are even worse now that I keep fidgeting with the code...they are stacking on top of each other. Can I PLEASE just send this page of code to someone so they can pinpoint the problem....because my ignorant eyeball can't decipher between one portion of code to the next.

I don't know a thing about the difference of css in different explorers...I'm afraid that would confuse me 10 times more, plus I probaby wouldn't even know what I was reading.

So your saying though that this isn't a simple fix of code?

          So complicated........

I'm trying not to be negative becuase I really want to fix this and move on....but nothing seems to be working.

I appreciate your guys's response/advice tho...this is just quite frustrating for myself...

When I have a problem with this sort of thing, I head over to the warrior forum programing forum. Down the list in the index, you get real helpful replies in there and normally the people who look at that forum are the people who understand code, so try posting in there to.

I tried that already too....but alas, I shall try again.

Never know who reads them I guess eh? Might get lucky...

Sounds like your internet explorer has cached an old version of your page.

                You could try this:

Using Internet Explorer as your browser, open up Internet Explorer 8

Once open and completely loaded, click on the "Safety" menu at the top of the page.

Check the box next to: "Temporary Internet Files and History"

                Click the "Delete" button.

Wait for the computer to completely process this, and once it finished, you're courser should return and you can close out of the "Safety" menu and resume your activity.

Well, I am running IE8, but when I click on safety I don't see the "Temporary Internet Files and History" option..

                  Hmm..

It says, delete browsing history, inprivate browsing, webpage privacy policy, inprivate filtering, inprivate filtering settings, security report, international website address, smartscreen filter, and windows update...and that is all..?

Really?? lolz...ahhhh I really don't get it. I am told it looks fine, but then why does it look all tore up through my computer?? It wasn't for the longest time, then I did something a few days ago and its been tore up ever since, and now I can't get it back to center align....This is so maddening I have to laugh at it. :p

Obviously I am doing something wrong....or I did something wrong...or something is just wrong. Glad it looks allright for you guys...I'm afraid tho that it looks wrong, the way I am viewing it, to other ppl tho...

Thank you for the compliments!! They are def. encouraging after going through this whole ordeal. I don't think I will be officially happy with it till I fix it either...

          *sigh

THanks again tho!! Very kind of ye.

Sorry, I posted something similar in one of your threads in the web design forum but if you keep posting the same issue (which this is) all over the WF or repeated in the web design forum you are only making people who might be able to help you jump through a few extra hoops in order to follow what you have already been advised to do. Sorry if that sounds harsh, my post in your other thread in web design is put much more politely, honest!

I hope you find a fix soon

      Thanks

Well, I suppose I'm in desperation mode...trying different threads and what not. I'm not making them look through every single one of my threads..if they want to then thats up to them, I appreciate that..but its not neccassary I mean, I basically post the same issue/updates on the problem with each thread I post.

I understand your logic, and I responded in the last post you made on it which was that I can stick to one.

Never meant to offend.....just trying to fix 3 mother effin boxes lmao. These boxes won't get the best of me...I just put together an entire site.

*sigh...lolz, well heres to figuring it out once and for all then

Thanks for everyones help...let me know if there is anything else that I could try.

Looks Ok to me in Firefox & IE8. It maybe something to do with peoples screen resolution which is why it's ok for some and not others.

Yep, I can see the boxes out of alignment.

Those of you who can't are just checking in one browser, right? If you do any sort of serious web development, you must (repeat must) have the major browsers installed. At a minimum, Firefox, IE, Opera and Chrome. No page should be published without you having examined it closely in each one.

Now to your problem. Neither your page nor your CSS properly validate. I'm happy to have a close look at your problem, but only if you first fix the HTML and CSS errors. With regard to CSS, you're using a problematical CSS 3 property '-moz-background-clip', which is certainly going to cause cross-browser difficulties.
