"Click Here" is a keyword! If you don't believe me...

Type it in google and see who comes up first! You'll be surprised!

My Point is this. Most people use this as an anchor link <..href="dfasda.com">click here</a>. You're wasting a chance to get your keyword(s) in the anchor link that you're using whether it be in a bio box at ezinearticles or a cloaked link on your website.

Don't say < href="link">Click here</a> to learn more about nudist adult christmas presents....

Instead say...Click here to learn more about <href="link">nudist adult christmas presents. </a>

Unless you want to help Adobe build their juice for "click here"!

Never, Never do an <img src="xxxxx.12397.jpg />

Instead rename the image "nudistadultchristmaspresents.jpg" and use the alt tag to add alt="nudistadultchristmaspresentsimage" to the anchor text.

Don't waste these two keyword opportunities that have some pretty good weight in spider searches just because you're too busy to bother. This could make the difference between #55 and #46 in Google. Or better yet #6 or #5 for another keyword. It did for me!

I'm not even 'gonna start about using your long tail keyword list to form sentences in your articles for LSI juice! Maybe in the next post!

disclaimer: I was going to give something back for my 400th post but I missed it. This is the best I could do without more thought. And Yes, I butchered the hell out of the HTML above, just wanted it to show up instead of being a link. If you need the exact HTML code for this, either Google it or PM me.

If I put "click here" as anchor text, how does that help Adobe?

If anything, it would hurt them, since it would be one more page competing for that phrase...

    Sorry but I don't understand.

Why would you want the keyword "Click Here". Barely anyone is searching for "Click here" and there are over a billion pages.

I think I'm totally missing your point.

it depends on what you are trying to achieve, if i am just putting an ad where i want some people to buy a product then "Click Here" is fine.
You have to remember that if it is a sales page you want to make it as easy as possible for people to buy the product.
I know this because when i tested doing the click here blah blah blah and had the blah blah blah as the link i had some people contact me and say they tried to click on "click here" and it wasnt working

The OP meant to say don't put "click here" in the anchor text when linking to "www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html"

Because it will help them. :p

Good thing I've never had the use for linking to the site above on any sales pages. (yet)

Hmmm. Wonder what the search volume on "click here" is. I guess the search volume/competition ratio would be about the worst for any kwp.

    Ahhh I get it now!

Basically, Adobe is the top of the search results for "Click Here" because people have used the words "Click Here" when linking to that product.

Therefore, if you use your target keyword, ie nudist adult christmas presents, the website you are linking to will rank better (which in theory should be your website).

Am I on the right track?

Yep, won't help or harm you at all.

But at last glance you can extrapolate why Adobe has a PR 10.

Besides the popularity of the company's products, the uber geeky in here like me can get a whole course in SEO for an hour of your time looking at that site--then apply and test it in your business, if SEO is your "thing".
