Can article directories really bring you traffic?

Hello warriors,

I have a question about getting traffic. I saw many people mentioned that submiting articles to article directories is a method of getting traffic. But I noticed that even in ezinearticles.com, most articles only have less than 100 views in a very long term( 12 months sometimes ). Considering the CTR, that means that article can only bring about 1 reader to the author's site every month. This is in EZA, and in GoArticles or ArticlesBase, I saw even worse result. Many articles in ArticlesBase only have single number views in a whole year.

So why so many people still believe that article directories can bring them traffic?

One more question: some people mentioned blog comment as a traffic method. I have never done that before, but is there anyone really get good traffic by doing this? What if I cannot give good and interesting comment? Because people said you must give good and interesting comment then those readers may click your link to your website.

Any input are welcome!

Much thanks.

Im not an expert in article marketing but I have made a good amount of cash from writing articles. If your in a good niche, got good SEO and write well then you will get the traffic. If you have your article on over 400 sites and have social bookmarked them then you will get more views. I haved used ArticleBot and SocialBot to do this. Made about $100 off of only 2 articles. If I actually was a good writer and took the time to write a bunch of articles it would add up a lot more. In the end to me Internet marketing is just a numbers game.

If a writer can only obtain 100 views, in a 12 month period, then something is seriously wrong....

EZA has huge pre-established search engine authority....I've gotten 2,000+ views, on some of my articles, in a 3-4 month period, on websites that have only a fraction of the search engine authority as EZA (PR 4 vs. PR7 or 8)

One would need to step back and reconsider and address several elements of their article if they are only seeing 100 views in a 12 month period.

    Hi there...

How to gain traffic with article marketing and writing.

First, yes you can absolutely get good traffic from article directories. But before your write you must be able to do some keyword research so you could get your articles ranked.

Second, make sure of your keyword density in your articles.

Third, blog commenting - Yes, you have to make sure that your comments are good for other readers to click on your link. For it to be convenient for you, comment on blogs with similar or related niche to yours so it would be easier to comment.

Fourth, back up everything with social bookmarking. All links of your articles in ezines, bookmark them. This can absolutely drive traffic. For lists of social bookmarking sites - socialmarker.com

    Hope this helps.

Not only can article marketing make you money but if you get the keywords right you can pinpoint one to earn thousands. I wrote one article only 250 words in length that earned $2500 in six months no joke. Get your keyword research down and work from there.

Okay, so those articles might only get 100 views. But what if you right 6 per day that get 100 views? This means that you could be getting over 200 visitors to your site per day. If this is in the weight loss niche that could be $100 that you saved from not promoting your product on Adwords. All of the sudden a mere 100 views doesn't sound too bad does it?

Article marketing is probably one of the most stable marketing strategies on the internet. Always has been and always will be. The only competion that has really been around that long is Banners and Ezine marekting.

If you really put article marketing at the forefront of your business...it is a long term residual strategy that can pay you pretty much for the rest of time..

Um, yes, of course you can. Not every article will be a "hit," however. Some may end up with thousands and thousands of views and others with only tens. It happens all the time. I'm convinced the best way to use article marketing is to send backlinks to your article on a main article directory. Others will say you're better off just sending backlinks to your site. I think both have their place.

Of course, there are always alot of things one can do to take a low trafficked article and turn it in to one that receives thousands and thousands of views.....

If one has a database of 100+ articles, and 75 of them don't get the traffic you feel they deserve, rather than disgard them, I would STRONGLY recommend troubleshooting them.

Just look at the most viewed and most published articles for your category and compare them with the articles you see getting only 100 views. Most likely the titles are what separates the two.

    hi tycoon

just want to chip in something for you...

article writing is one of the best methods to drive traffic to your site!

it works and it will continue to work as long as you have something to write and people want something to read about.

i have had some articles getting over 3000 views within a short period of 2 months but you just have to know what and what to write to get such views.[ which is nothing compared to some]

if you want your articles to have a good view then you must work on how you use your keyword/keyword phrase in the head, body and closing of such articles.

blog commenting is a good too, you just have to be honest with your comment and expect people to do the same when they visit your blog.

above all writing articles work best!

Do not use EZA advice as your guide as they will use you. Each article = more ads= more money for EZA.

Instead, if you learn true article strategy, then you get paid. Any decent article will get 300 views, a great one will get over 5,000 in 9 months.

From 4% to 8% - realistically will then visit your site. That is fine, but the 2 biggest benefits are not from readers.

The 2nd benefit is the ability with 24 hours after release to obtain multiple top ten ratings for Google keyword terms.

The last, only goes to those with very high quality articles. Blogs, even those from major news and magazine blogs swoop in and grab your article. This could happen 150 times on a single article.

I am finishing a rough beta draft of my new book, "Articles, Maximizing the Power of One." Articles take zero investment, a keyboard and a brain.

Then combine articles with some other great strategies other members offer, and you are on the way up. Articles, when written correct, can be great. However, there are a lot of Warriors developing other great methods also.

You don't just jump into article writing, firstly get to know the basic strategies by learning more from those who have had success with theirs or simply buy peoples experience and believe me you,you will be better for every dime!

Absolutely, providing the articales are unique and have high quality content.

Take a look at the stat for how many times an article has been read or downloaded. Some are into the hundreds of thousand times!

Sure it can. But it's only ONE method. You gotta have multiple
streams of marketing to bring in traffic.

I only use articles to promote my site for SEO purposes. Those 100 pageviews are probably from googlebot, and they're darned valuable to a new site!

I still have some REALLY old affiliate sites from years back that still make a few hundred dollars every month, and all their "little" amounts of traffic come from article directories.

Personally, when I was hardcore into the writing and article marketing game, I really only stuck to Ezine articles. Anyway, just logged in and took a picture of my current stats. Does this answer your question?

P.S. I did just delete 40 articles to a site that isn't up anymore the other night, but they we very average producers.

I get good article traffic when I put a few (sometimes lots) of links to my article. For some, thats a big time waster. I suggest you try it, see if it's worth it to you.

I stopped caring how many visitors and views I get from my articles in directories when I discovered that I was getting retainer clients regularly from my articles. If you get one person viewing your article and they need what you have then it's a win/win.

The answer is yes if done correctly. A successful article in simple terms comes down to good content and promoting your article through bookmarking etc.
