Want to quit my 10k regular job and make a living online! Help needed!!

Help needed!

I might be considered very spoiled when writing this post, but thats ok. I have a regular job offline where I earn around 10k a month. The thing is I don't want that job, I want to make a living working online!

Thing is, that I am a complete newbie and I really seek some HONEST help that will actually help me make me that living online. I have bought a lot of software and tools to help me succeed but I could really need some serious help from serious people who can take me by the hand and help me step by step to make this come true for me.

Is it possible? If so, is there anyone out there that would actually teach me, from scratch, to build a descent full time income so I can quit my everyday job??

If so, you are MORE than welcome to send me a pm with you email address (since I can't pm anyone yet).

I am very serious about this and I'm tired of all the program and promises that doesn't deliver.

Thanks,
Scottie

10K a month? are u crazy? ...if you are a newbie, even worst. first, you need to develop a decent income, before you quit your job men... I quitted my job, and I thought at the moment it was a good idea, I was making around a $1000 a month from my online income..

long story short, I was not able to maximize my income in 3 months and I had do find another job to help pay the bills.

before you quit your job, make sure you are making money and in your case "good money" for at least 4 months in a row... but that's my two cents anyways.

I totally agree with this advice. I took a lump sum for EVR but didn't have a CLEAR business plan.

It took a while but I'm back working for the organisation I left but right back at the beginning where I started.

Stay in your 10K job. While you're at it write a book how you ended up there. Make it a kind of motivational book "If I can do this So can you" type thing. Either sell it online or give it away building a list you can sell to later. Make it a WSO even?

You could write a book about the industry you're in. Flipping Heck @ 10K a month you should know a lot about it that could help others.

You should join the War Room if you can afford it? OJ and you'll learn a lot from Warriors who have gone before you.

The maxim is to LEARN, LEARN, LEARN.

      Hope this helps.

    Thanks for your input Lucky500

Yes i know that I'm currently having a good income at my regular job. Even though it is definitely good, money is not everything. I would never just quit the job just like that without having build up a descent income online of course. But that's the thing, I need some help to build things up in order to be able to quit my regular job eventually. I'm NOT looking for an overnight miracle, but looking for something that will ACTUALLY walk the walk and bring in some money..

Join the war room, that's where you need to be on this forum:

      http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...-war-room.html

It's only $37. There you will find many (i mean MANY) great tips that alone can replace your current income. After you gain some insight on how this forum works, is that you can go to the WSO area (with great caution, just remember that there are not magic shortcuts). I'm not recommending paralysis by analysis, but just to create a solid base from which you can choose what to believe in and then start doing it.
Just want to tell you that making 10K part time is very possible, and it can be fast if you have the means to afford buying good traffic and outsourcing the heavy work, just that for doing that you need some competence, if not you will end up trowing your money away with lousy untargetted traffic and bad programmers.
Also, use that war room membership for its immediate PM sending capability.
I'm sure the greatest and more profitable activities on this forum occurs in the invisible world of PM. Use that.

Sometimes I wonder if people should get themselves checked into hospital for a brain scan, you claim you are earning 10k (is that yen?) per month and you want to quit it and take a job online without any prior experience without first building up a solid base?

      True...

BUT, as has been mentioned, money isnt everything. I know that that is why I do it, but for others they wanna spend time with family etc etc...

I would suggest keeping your job, and moonlighting with IM. Trust me, at first you will hit info OVERLOAD. You will NOT be able to sleep and your brain will fizzle. It will be 10 coffees a day sitting at the screen developing short-sightedness (yay...)

Keep the day job. Seriously. A lot of people here make over $1K a DAY, but a lot MORE make less than $10K a week. It pans out differently for everyone.

I would suggest starting out by transferring your job skills to IM. Say, if you were a techie, offer programming services, build up a list and release the next big wordpress plugin.

If you are a graphic designer offer design services, build a list and then sell a tutorial package etc etc.

ONe day though you'll hit it, and when you do you'll be glad.

But take small steps. The last thing you wanna do is end up earning $0 a week wishing you hadnt shoved that contract up your bosses ass...

All the information you need is on this forum.

Before you even think about quitting your job you need to get started. Find out what is involved in running a website(s). Find out which area of online working interests you.

    What are your skills?

Can you write = content writing/article writing/product creation
Are you an experienced coder = site creation/applications creation
Do you have a niche interest/hobby = niche interest sites
Are you good at marketing = affiliate sales
Do you know anything about seo = helping offline clients market their sites

No-one can teach you how to earn £10k a month. It depends on your skills, aptitute, interests etc.

I suggest you buy yourself some web hosting, think of a niche that interests you, buy a domain name, and get started.

You will make mistakes, of course. That's called learning. You can't learn unless you start.

Buy War Room membership - and read, read, read. Then try, try, try. The only way to find out what interests you and what is involved is to dive in and get started.

      Hey Friend,
I am completely agree with rose, see friend, if you really wanna work online there is huge potential to earn money online even full time living ...and you are not alone to think for quiting a job...see friend 7 month back i was in same stage when i took decision to quiet my full time job and start working full time here...nowdays i am earning my full time income through running my own service..income is saturating but i m earning handsome amount...the only mistake i made was , that before living my job i could have plan things and make things cofortable for me..see you can do a jump start here. But if you really want to set up things my suggestion would be make a 3 months plan and spend lots of time on warrior war room and private room discussions ...everything is here to learn..there is no need to purchase any kind of course..
my friend with constant learning and Action you can win and earn more than full time income.

key is : Constant Learning and implementing things with focus energy...

Focus Action is a key here..only thinking and reading can't help you.

      Thanks.

I agree with Rose, grab some of that cash, register about 10-20 domain names in areas that interest you can start on wordpress and just get writing...

Some niches will not be for you, everyone gets writers block and I have had it with one of mine for a few months, at least though you will gain experience and if one takes off, that will bring you in residual income for many months to come and just rinse and repeat.

There is no step-by-step plan. If there was, everyone would be doing it already, and everyone would be rich.

You have to be ambitious, innovative, creating, patient, resilient, dedicated, and so on. Learn what you're good at, and what your passion is. Research and read a lot, and from there, create your own unique methods that will earn you income.

If I were in your shoes, I'd grit my teeth and hang onto that 10k income!

I'd spend every waking hour I could developing and executing a plan of action for my online business. Only once I had enough savings to see me through for anything between 6-12 months of living expenses AND I was also regularly earning enough online to feel confident I knew what I was doing, ONLY then would I even consider quitting my offline job.

Some people take to making money online really quickly, others struggle for years to make a few dollars a month online and some sadly never make any money at all.

I was one of those who struggled for a good year and a half! But I stuck at it and now I'm doing ok and looking to kick on more and more.

      Good luck, whatever you decide!

Well, with the extra cash you most likely have, you can easily outsource many things to get done for you - and I dare say you could see some stable income within just a few months.

It's all going to break down to how much you want to invest and finding someone who is going to help you with where you should invest - not take all the money you would invest and leave you out in the cold.

Are you familiar with running your own business? Because the rest of it involved is some technical skills - and those do take a little time to learn.

    I have a proven steps.

By domains. Direct that to doorways and then let the domain mature.

One domain cost $6.75 so for $675 you buy 10 domains.

I actually made a JV proposal for that. It's not selling because I don't take customers' money. All money goes straight to register domains.

The method is black hat though.

That's my only proven method to make money. Only 200% return per year. Another I tried is buy 10 domains, xrumer like hell, and then 1 year latter each domain will earn like $100. But the domains keep getting banned by google (the onsite SEO is white hat though).

I want to improve my proven system even further. I want to sell the domains at sedo for quicker return

I have read a lot of marketing stuff online, but it's very confusing. I need to be taken by the hand and shown exactly what to do. I'm hard working and not stupid, but I have very limited practical knowledge about IM.

I currently work in the insurance business in my country, and while it definitely gives me a good income I would love to quit it and become my own boss. And selling insurances is just not that fun to me to be honest..

Ha, guess we work in the same industry then

I also work in the "insurance" business by I'm the guy that supplies all these companies with potential customers ... all from my websites. And I don't need to tell you that insurance companies pay a LOT of money for these kind of leads.

I'd say if you already work in the financial market (I'm from the UK so not sure where you are based) that will give you an instant edge as you know the industry already.

Just drop me a quick mail and we can take it from there.

With 10k per month you shouldn't work. Just put your money.

Is WF member can be trusted?

If so, I can arrange that you don't need to pay me anything. Just buy domain and point that to my server. Pay for domain name and hosting fee.

    I take care the rest.

The way I arrange it is investors got 150% of the first revenue (usually take 8 months to achieve that). After that workers "own" the domain.

However, if investors like the domain names, investors can buy the workers' stake at 12 times last 30 days revenue minus unpaid investors' share plus admin fee. That's effectively around 1 year expected cash flow So like 100% return.

I think that's a fair way to split it. Investors got good alpha. Workers, me, got the rest. It's like the way ancient chinese landlord works. Landlord got rent, farmers got the rest.

Oh ya, investors take the whole risk. However, I have bought 1000 domains and average I got quite good return. 200% is conservative estimate because I only bought 100 domains at a time recently. Last year, I bought 20 domains that earn me like $80 permonth.

Return can be HUGELY increased if we can SELL the domain names at SEDO.

Another thing I am working on is setting up autoblogs. I can easily set up 100-200 autoblogs each require domain names. Already apply for the WSO. However, the system is not proven. Sometimes I got $3 per day, which is still a lawsy return given that I buy 40 domains. Sometimes I got none. But many more experienced autoblog makers claim they earn $3/day per domain. Except that they build one by one.

If you can arrange JV where you buy domains, some other expert pick the niche, and I create the autoblog, we can split profit handsomely.

Really? Insurance pays a lot for leads? What affiliate programs I should sign up? I bought 40 mortgage domains only to find out that most mortgage affiliates do not work with Indonesians Adsense pay is low and CTR is extremely low for targetted search engine traffic.

Find some members with proven system that want to share risk and profit. You need capital intensive biz, not labor intensive biz.

You can also do PPC arbitrage. That's how I made $6k a month a long time ago.

Another thing you can try is fapturbo. I've heard good things about it. Give reports.

Yeah, I was wondering about that. Maybe people should start using the currency code, like USD for american dollar, and DKK for danish krone, etc....

I figured BASIC USD would be $2080USD min 11692.12DKK 1571.15EUR So, obviously, that doesn't fit your deal. I figured you MIGHT mean DKK because of the last characters on your handle. From what I understand, you get paid about 5 times danish minimum wage. On THOSE terms it would be like getting paid $76,544USD/year here. Who can say what the actual buying power would be, but taxes ARE pretty high there, and the krone IS pretty high. It was like 7 to the dollar when I was out there! Still, that is respectable.

You really should work YOURSELF to get an income you could live with and FORGET about quitting until you have done that AT LEAST 4 months in a row. And try to AVOID black hat techniques because any HONEST person here will tell you that you COULD get caught and have a major source of income dry up ASAP! ALSO, DIVERSIFY!

Try different areas, and different sources, and don't let one monopolize the others. Americans have a saying.... "DON'T put all your eggs in one basket". The stockmarket is a great place to make money, for example, but imagine the people that invested in enron, and left it there. It would have SKY ROCKETED, and in one day pretty much dissappeared. GM did the same thing. Those that diversified rode out the bad times!

          Scottie
Actually, I said it did! Of course, as I implied, the taxes make it have less buying power and the DKKs value is variable against the dollar, which is how I came up with approx $76,544USD/year trying to index your income against the relative minimum a dane is likely to make versus what an American would make.

Saying you make $100,000 a year just wouldn't be right because even an american would have to pay taxes, you pay even more, and just a little strife in Greece could maybe affect the DKK, since Denmark IS a member of the EU.

Still, before you explained that after a few posts, only the DK at the end of your handle hinted that you were talking about Krone.

You can buy any number of training courses for step-by-step guidance. You can read the forum for a lot less, but it will be in bits and pieces.

I ran a quick conversion of DKK to USD. It's not much, but you can hire some proven professionals to get your foundation started properly. That way you don't have to figure out what the technical bits and pieces are and can instead focus on growing customer base.

Companies like Nanacast basically take care of all your technology needs for a fixed monthly fee. The real challenge is building a customer base and providing them with products they would want to buy. And you are not the only marketer out there.

One of the better investments I made was when I bought Brian Terry's bigselling optins plugin for Wordpress. The bonus videos turned out to be more valuable to me than the actual software. The video series actually goes step by step how to setup a profitable blog correctly and he addresses some pretty advanced topics while claiming they are simple. Mind you, I am a technology expert, yet I found myself taking notes and copying some of the sales techniques he employs.

In summary, you need to figure out how to stand out from 10s of thousands of marketers out there in order to make the customers find you and click the "Add to cart" button.

        That would be Brian Terry.

And I am just a happy customer. He managed to sell me more than one product, which does not happen very often. It's not easy to upsell me, but his stuff is good and his upsell technique is interesting. What he does is: 1) Get you to opt in to get his free plugin, 2) upsell you to advanced plugin, 3) upsell you to a nice course, 4) smoothly switches to selling very expensive products of his JV partners.

The plugin is $47 or something cheap like that (as a OTO upsell from the free plugin), but I seriously did not expect his bonus videos to be more valuable than the thing I originally bought.

I really used a lot of his stuff for my swipe file.

Agree with pitocus - join the War Room. There is so much in there that is shared that you can pick up one of many, many ideas and run with it. My best advice is just to do it. Let me give you an example.

My kids were really into these squishy pencil topper toys you get out of vending machines. They would put $5 in quarters and get a bunch of doubles, maybe a rare one occasionally, and their whole school is crazy over them. I spent oh, maybe, 45 seconds looking this up on Google and found 5 different wholesalers selling them. I bought a domain name, installed ZenCart via Fantastico (click, click, done), then spent an entire Sunday tweaking the site, adding pictures, changing colors, whatever. By the second day, I had a site ready to go. Ordered some product, and 3 days later had my inventory loaded on my site.

I answered one Yahoo Answers question and wrote one article for EZA. I think I also did some pinging and maybe some RSS submissions, but it truly was not much. A week after I bought the domain name I got my first sale. That was 2 months ago. I've sold over $1100 of these things that cost me $0.12 each. Net profit is only about $275/mo, but I have yet to begin to even market it! Plus I have been very lazy in ordering more product. If I would spend about 2 hours more per week on it, I could easily get to $500/mo. An hour a day on marketing and it could be a $2k/mo site.

I'm actually selling it now (it's in my sig) because I'm tired of the physical product thing - buying inventory, shipping, etc. and want to focus on online methods only. Funny because this is making more than my online projects! Silly, huh? But I can take the money from this sale (if it sells) and use that to fund some projects I've had on the back burner.

But it all started literally in a matter of minutes. I just had the idea one lazy Sunday, ran with it, and six hours later I had a website. Focus, focus, focus.

I totally get your point and I don't think you are crazy in any way. Money is far from being everything in life.

To be able to keep your monthly profits only from online money, first you need to build a solid base. Find out what activities you are willing to do online and research and study them.

Second, try what you have learned so far. Try as much as you can, and learn from your mistakes. Discover what is more profitable, and find a way to leverage the results you are getting.

And only after you are getting substantial results and think you can keep your way on your own, quit your job. It should be the last thing you do.

Sorry for not sending you a PM, but feel free to PM me.

my advice is..you may consider this following tips.

    1 - Find your strength
it mean what is you good at and what you like to do.
For example.." i am good at designing... And i like it. So i design a few sampel and publish it on the net. (yes, i do design for a living)"

2 - Find the system/type that suit you.
We know many money making ideas on the net. From white hat to black hat. All we have to do is find one that suit us and focus on that . This is a very first step.
For example...there is a type like..
1- google adsense (believe me there a buddy that generate millions only from adsense
2- Affiliate Program (we have stand alone program , Click bank and more)
3- Develope Website ( Like facebook!)
4- Ebay ( my member generate more than 10k for selling things on this site)
    5- More more more program

So, please choose the best type that suit you. If you not sure.. try them one by one..

    ---
    just my 2cents...

    anyone wanna add?

    Wow so many replies!

Thanks guys it is very interesting to hear so many different views on the topic...

Razztek: I like you story, it shows me that things really ARE possible...

Just to get one thing clear:

I'm NOT quitting my job BEFORE I have a descent income online! But what I AM looking for is the proven step by step plan that actually works, something that WILL give you a good full time income OVER TIME, so I can quit my job EVENTUALLY, 3 months, 6 months or maybe 12 months from now...

I read about so many people that actually are having success with this somehow, so there MUST be room for me as well...

I also know that there is a LOT of hype about things which is (especially for me as european) making it very difficult for me to discover what is for real and what is B.S..

So what I probably need to find as some of you already suggests, is a mentor or some very experienced to somehow hook up with..

For now I just spent the $39 to get access to the WAR room, and I will do some more reading, even though I feel I haven't done anything BUT reading for the last 1,5 year...

Great input from you guys, I really appreciate it, just keep it coming...

      Hi Scottie,

Yes, I've some experience with forex trading, both with manual systems and also automated expert advisors (they call them EAs). I'm also a programmer and I've done some expert advisor programming for someone.

I have used FAPTurbo personally and it's very good. However, there are other things you need to consider in order to remain profitable in the long term.

It's going to take a long time, even if you start out your IM career like a racehorse at the Kentucky Derby to make $10K p/m, heck even a 1/4 of that.

Keep your day job, and start out part time with IM, i think too many people put the cart before the horse (damn all these references to horses today) when it comes to IMing.

I found the SECRET to making money online: It's hard work.

Quitting a 10k a month job is ridiculous and while we've all made these kinds of forum threads, the ONLY way you're really going to find out how YOU can make money online is to DO IT. There a thousands of guides out there, but in the end it all comes down to how many hours you put in each day.

To give you an idea, I've been doing this part time since last August (after school and on weekends) and have just gotten to about $500 per month the last few months.

I agree with you that I have to DO it, but then we are back to my point again: HOW?! Sure - it can be done.

        How?

        1. Start by understanding the business models on the internet. You either have to sell something of your own (your own products, licensed products or services), someone else's products (affiliate marketing) or sell advertising (space, text links, CPA's, etc...) For me, I make money doing all 3, but I tend to lead with my own products (about 2/3 of the total) while the other two methods make up remaining 1/3 - someone else could be completely different. Why? I am good at and like finding product opportunities and turning those into winning products and services - that is something I am good at and something I enjoy doing. That may not be the case for you...so the second step is...

        2. Picking a business model that fits well with your strengths and interests. Some bloggers - their strength is editorial & writing, reviews so they are good at getting hundreds of thousands of readers and for that, they can monetize using ads...for me, I like finding infoproduct opportunities and write quick training ebooks, books, reports and courses to meet those desires in the marketplace.

        3. Once you have chosen a dominant business model, then you need to learn everything you can about how others are making a living with that business model. Often the best way is to watch what they do as much as listening to what they teach. Learn by watching as well as training.

        4. Create quick systems to test and then put in massive action monitoring how your plan is working - quickly changing course if results are poor. This is the quickest way I have found to turn moderate levels of success into really big success levels. By testing different methods and systems you get immediate, first-hand feedback on what works and what doesn;t - tweak and try and again.

As you can see, some of this will take time...so capture the urgency you have to replace your 10K/month job & put it into your business, but don't abandon the job just yet, give yourself a few months of massive action first.

          Hi Jeff,

          Thanks for your great input!

Just wrote a long post and then i got logged out

          Well I'll try again...

I'm currently having to niche websites done for me, and I also have to guys working on one ebook each, so I'm starting at last..

I also recently had blog made from a fellow warrior, with some very powerful plugins, like the wprobot for instance..Thing is that I don't know how to make the best use of all the tools...

My inbox is filled with mails from gurus, experts and everyone else that I have subscribed to, so I'm probably experiencing information overload really...i'm not sure...

I DO have a lot of will power and I'm also quite energetic and good at getting things done, my biggest problem is definitely my focus - how to focus on the things that I need..

And ohh yeah...monitoring...I can work on that for sure as well...

Making money online requires work. It all depends on what you are after. A solid business that grows over time or doing affiliate selling. The best option is to have a product although a few people make money in affiliate programs.

Your first step is to set you plans and goals. You will need to learn how to market online and how to generate targeted traffic. How to do keyword research etc ...

If you are new, you will likely be suffering from information overload and not know where to start.

I know some people who have made it fast online with good product launches. They made it through JVs who were willing to promote their products to a list.

But you must be prepared to work hard online like too.

    Scottie -

If you want it, you can do it. I know exactly what it feels like to have a high-paying job but to want a different lifestyle. I quit mine in February and have been on my own since March 1st of this year. Yes, crazy...risky...but I am one, significantly, happier woman.

I spent every spare second on IM for a solid year before I made the move, though. As others have suggested, I had a plan, some success under my belt, and backup savings. All the things it sounds like you are putting in place for yourself, too.

jbsmith provides a great outline to follow. Someone could take you by the hand but most folks focus on one particular IM model and it might not be the best model for you.

Narrow down your scope to a model to which you think your skills are best suited and start taking some action on just that model. Find a mentor for that model. Don't be distracted by all the other ideas that come along while you're working. Read everything about that model in the War Room and on this forum and try it, test it, refine it, learn from the failures and copy the successes. Find other Warriors who use that model (based on their posts, etc.) and build a network of contacts.

Don't miss one of my favorite posts on this topic: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...-daughter.html

Where George Wright tells everyone to quit their job tomorrow....sort of It's inspirational and there are some great ideas there, too.

    Good luck!

Congratulations being on your own! How does it go for you?

I bookmarked the thread you linked to, just read a bit of it - very inspirational!

Yes, my whole life has been with that attitude that everything is possible, I strongly believe in that if you keep going after what you want, you will get it in the end, it's just a question of time..

      Thanks for some solid advises.

      Good luck!

For me being a offline marketing consultant has been my area of success. While I did make some money online ( ppc, cpa, and affilate marketing) the money was to inconsistent to live off of. I have been able to achieve much greater success with consistent income being a offline consultant. It is work but don't mind , because I Love what I do! The important thing online or offline is to find something you have an interest and hunger for and then pursue it 110%. DO NOT GET DISTRACTED by other new things. Find One thing and stick with it . Hi Rdraiss

You have a great point there, it's all about doing what you love and enjoy! All the money in the world won't help much if you are not happy. I would rather earn a lot less and be happy.

That said, I know that it's possible to get both..

What do you do when you say offline marketing if you don't mind me asking?

Any decent book on how to start your own business will tell you
to slash un-needed expenses, trade-down your lifestyle, and
save up 6-12 months of living expenses while you get your business
    going.

That's sensible. You should probably give up some of the luxuries
you're paying for monthly and save up capital and educate yourself
about the direction you want to go in your own business.

I have a coaching program opening up soon about getting your
own thing going. I make no income guarantees whatsoever, just
real nuts and bolts advice from somebody who has learned his
    horse sense the hard way.

With a $10k a month income now, you've got a silver spoon in
your mouth compared to a lot of people starting online businesses.
Still, having money gives you confidence that isn't always accurate -
making wise decisions about how you allocate resources is
critical to your success and survival in your own business... and
the more capital you have the faster you'll blow through it if
you don't have a discerning vision from the start.

Get on my list and I'll let you know what's up with my coaching thing
    when the letter is ready.

    Cheers,

      Hi Loren,

Your words are true and very accurate..And it's very easy to just through money after this program or that offer just hoping that some of the money will be well spent...

Actually I'm not living an expensive life to be honest, it's more in the educational section that improvement is needed i guess.

Thanks for your input, I'll probably join your list...

    Scottie - great post!

Have you considered becoming an expert in your niche?
Write a book, do seminars, workshops, coach...
Still lots of work to get going, but it could be good alternative to IM for you.

With your capital you can afford those 5K 1-on-1 coaching programs to get you going faster.

I sure have, and I'm currently working on that..

Actually I have seen the video from the site you are referring to, some very interesting points there..

Throwing 5k away on a coaching program can be a good investment if the program is solid and it works...I think my issue is all the hype...very difficult to actually see what's real and what's not..Too easy to spend your money...lol, that's the easiest thing in life..

The best coaches never want you to pay such huge amounts upfront with no guarantee. Good coaching programs let you earn while you learn, so you have a positive balance at the end of the process.

If you find something you truly believe is worth paying for, make sure you can get moch more than your money back with hard work from what you'll have learned. It should help you separate the hype from the real thing.

    Thanks,
    Scottie

I can relate to this post.

About 5 years ago, I was making between $7500-$12000 USD a month in a sales position selling title insurance.. Times were great as far as money was concerned... but I was absolutely miserable with my life (to the point that I wanted to off myself).

I went about things a little differently than I should have.

I up and quit cold turkey with no plans of what I was going to do next on June 17th 2005. That's when I really started looking hard into internet marketing.

Fast forward 5 years now, and I'm STILL not making that kind of money online.

Is it possible to do? Hell yeah it is...

But there is a STEEP learning curve.

    Some things to consider:

    1. NET income that you actually realize (which is what matters, because that's what you pay your bills with) is a WHOLE lot less than revenue generated. All the stupid MMO guides and such will claim 12K a month (gross) but if you're managing your business the way you need to be and investing back into outsourcing, traffic, advertising, content, etc. etc. etc. Then you'll need to make closer to 30K gross to pull in 10K net (and that's assuming you're paying yourself a whopper of a salary).

    2. There are really only 4 things that I've found that ultimately boil down to making money in no matter what niche or business you're in. Anything else that you do eats away from time that you should be spending on these tasks (this very post for example, haha). Those things are:

    • Customers - you NEED to be spending about 50% of your time generating new customers. Whatever means you go about that for your business, you need to do that.
    • Conversions - You NEED to make sure that your offers convert. Once they do, you NEED to optimize those conversion processes continually.
    • Content - You NEED to be generating content for your clients/visitors/subscribers (whatever applies to your business model).

    3. The fourth thing that you need to learn and be good at is: MANAGEMENT. 10K a month is NOT going to happen on your own (for most people). Unless you want to be glued to your computer, working 150 hours a week, it's just not feasible. Whether that means managing employees, or outsource contractors, your time, your business tasks (keeping the books, making higher level business decisions) etc.

    4. In order to reach the 10K a month target, you're going to need to find a niche that you ENJOY, that SPENDS LOTS, that has the SIZE of MARKET to support you, and that you can COMMIT to.

You need to know ALL of that stuff before you start dicking around with buying domains and writing articles.

There are hundreds of ways to make it to that level of income online, but ALL of them take MAJOR hustle and MAJOR dedication.

NONE of them are small time, side-hobbies. The people that get there are SERIOUS about their business, they treat their business like a business, and they don't dick around doing stupid medial tasks to get there.

PLAN on working twice the amount of hours you'd work in your current job (or maybe more, who knows) to get there.

Those are my thoughts on it.

      Hi mr2monster,

Some really solid and very valuable information you come with!

Thanks for a very honest post as well!! You very in a very similar situation as the one i'm in now...Seemed like you just got fed up and just quit...I'm sure it must have taking A LOT of courage to do so...

I do have some god ideas, and there are of course different views on how to earn a good income online..

So far I have people that are willing to pay me around $1000 if I can make somehow make a website that will bring in the investment over a few years time for instance..in my humble opinion that should definitely be possible..Of course it would require a lot of work, but doable, I just need to figure out how..

Thats's one of my current ideas that I'm working on which I believe could bring in a pretty good income ones it's up running...

I'm not afraid of working but...150 hours...lol..that is a lot..

I did this around this time last year. Actually, tomorrow makes it exactly one year.

It's been rough, and it still is. I dropped from $10k a month to zero overnight, then built my business up to about $5k a month, then dropped to near-zero again right about the time the savings ran out. The past year has been just about the worst of my life.

Be aware that you can lose everything. I lost my house, my wife, and my kids in this process. I actually lived in my car for two weeks during the month of December, and I still owe two other Warriors a refund for work they ordered that I just plain couldn't get done during that time.

    But I'm still here.

Whether that's bravery or stupidity remains to be seen.

Consensus among my friends and family is "stupidity."

What a ride you have had! my hats off for you that you continue to go on, AFTER losing both house and wife..

It also tells me that you have what it takes, you keep fighting for it regardless..

In my view that is definitely not stupidity, it's just following your heart...I'm certain that eventually you WILL get the success that you deserve, no question about it!

I would love to hear more from you, how things work out for you in the future!

Thank you so much for sharing.

It's been a mixed blessing, really.

A lot of people have observed that once you have lost everything, you are free to try anything. And that's true.

What they don't seem to think about is that when you can do anything, it's really hard to decide what you should do.

So there's a lot of floundering about figuring out what to do, how to do it, and what I need to make it work. Things are coming together, slowly but surely, I just need to keep my head above water until I figure out which direction to swim... and I'm really not sure which way it is to dry land.

Wow 10k month! I'd kill for that. However I think its pretty rational and not an idiotic move..at a point. I suggest quit your job when you have enough money to live off for at least a 1-2 years. (I'm sure you have that already unless you live in a mansion) That money is for "just in case". Now the hard part comes in. I'm sure you are working hard at your job for 10k month. In order for this to work you have to discipline yourself to work ONLINE after your DAY JOB. I'm sure working 4-5hours each day "productively" will earn you online revenue. Once you match amount of money you need to survive daily then quit your job.
So you are left with affiliate marketing money to live off + 1-2 years of spare money. Its a lot to learn and I mentored a lot of my friends. I spent hours/days teaching them from scratch.

I went from making $2 to $150/day overnight for about 5 nights straight then it fell apart and I was back at $2. Thats expected don't get discouraged. Let me know if you need help I'll be glad to give you a hand.

Btw : you can read all the ebooks, buy all the programs in the affiliate world and still earn $0. Its what you do with it

If I earned that much money, I would most certainly invest some in some one on one coaching programs, there are very many around.
Some of them are very expensive for people with lower incomes but at your income level you should be able to manage.

    Scottie,

Firstly, if that is what you really want to do then you can make it happen. I am sure you didn't get to that position in your current job overnight and the same can be said online.

However, don't let people put you off.

Secondly, if you are serious about making a real online living then build it alongside your current job but invest some of your salary on getting a good mentor. This will ensure you cut your learning curve in half and actually understand the way to make money online...afterall every business needs to follow a business model.

    Hope that helps

Hey friend... not a good idea to just quit your job like that. You're just getting started in the online game and it could take some time before you begin to break even. you know why? Because there are do's and don'ts you have to learn.

It's like going to school and getting the proper education. So, you have to get the proper education first and make sure you're well grounded before you quit your day job. A word they say is enough for the wise. Online is not easy.

I agree with all the previous posts for the most part. 10,000 a month is a nice chunk of change. Their is a learning curve involved with Internet marketing you have to learn the ropes first. I would advise you to keep your job and work on your Internet marketing on the side when you have free time maybe at night for a couple hours.

Then down the road if your seeing big success then you can think about saying bye bye to your day job, but only then!

    Good luck!

  • Hi Scottie:

I'm rooting for you and am very happy that you are starting from your current vantage point.

    I understand the following:

    1. You are making 10K per month right now in the insurance industry.
    2. You have NO intention of quitting your job until you are at a comfortable online income level.
    3. You are very intelligent.
    4. You belong to the Warrior Forum War Room
    5. You are convinced that since others are currently making from little to gargantuan amounts of money online, you can do the same.
    6. You are currently investigating several online income avenues.
    7. You currently have several projects in the works from which you are looking to receive some beneficial results.
    8. You are requesting someone assist you with hands on step-by-step instructions on how to achieve your goals and objectives.
    9. You are somewhat leery of coaching packages per se due to the probability that some might not be as pristine in character as claimed.
    10. You are chomping at the bits to get started.

I believe I've covered most of the journey as I've read it here and I am somewhat excited because you are at a wonderful place in your experience.

Now for why I'm writing this post.

Since you have time AND money on your side AND the War Room in your arsenal of weapons with which to lasso this online income raging bull my suggestion, like so many others in this wonderful thread, is to get started reading and categorizing things of interest in the War Room in particular and this forum in general.

There are so many wonderful people in this forum who have shown themselves to have strength of character, honesty, and willingness to share and give. 10k Per month is difficult for a newbie.

You can make income online if you have good writing skills.

You can do article writing, blog posting, website flipping, ebook selling for making money online.

    Good Luck.

      Hey there

I did the same as you, but the wrong way around.

I quit my job, borrowed some money against the property I owned, developed a product, but then proceeded to spend a fortune on every information product that was released without any results.

What I would if I was now in your position would be to put say 1 thousand dollars of your salary a month aside and do what John Reese suggests... clone myself.

For a thousand dollars a month, I could have anything from 2-10 virtual employees working for you.

I'd join the War Room, and look for a system that works for people.

Then I'd get the outsourcers to follow the system to the letter, and to stick at it until they built up a sufficient income for me for me to quit my job.

      Hope that helps

You need to view this making money online thing as an actual business.

Even though you can get a healthy start for only a $10 domain and $10/mo web hosting, you need to have an extremely serious mindset about the value that you provide to your prospects.

I suggest trying to find just one niche for now that you either have lots of experience in or are very interested in and think you could become an "expert" in.

If you can make related videos that would be even better.

Basically you need to build a social community with a site where your ideas and strategies are valued (helping people with relationships, learning a language, lose weight, play an instrument, etc) and they will trust you when you recommend they buy a product for which you get a commission.

That or you can sell your own product.

I was actually in a very similar situation less than 2 months ago. I quit my regular 10k a month job and went for full bore into Internet Marketing. Now I had experience, knowledge and connections so it was probably a lot easier for me.

Currently in the first 2 months I already have over $3000 a month residual income. Probably within in 1 year that will be around 25k-50k a month residual.

      Here´s my 2 cents

      1) You are a Warroom member but seem not to have found your path. This either implies that you have not given the Warroom enough attention, or that you are looking for a magic bullet blueprint ready-made method instead of learning the trade.
If any of the above is correct I would suggest doing the opposite.

      2) You want to work for yourself but there is no indication of why you want to do it specifically in the IM sector. Depending upon your qualities there might be easier ways to make money by working for yourself. Internet Marketing, like all business, requires specific qualities for anyone to be successful. The vast majority fail or trudge along.. certainly not making 10 grand, or even 5 a month. So my point is, have you decided you are specially good at Internet Marketing related functions or is it more of a dream? (hint, you will not make 10 or even 5 grand a month with WProbot sites. )

I can understand wanting to step away from a job. But everyone is different and we all have to do what we do well. Choosing where to go is important. The alternative might be painful and costly. Money is not everything, but if your plans don´t work out, it tends to vanish real quick.

Personally if I was earning that much a month (and I have in the past), I'd look at my income, cut down my expenses and I've think about using my extra money to invest to build an online career.
You have money, you may not have alot of time, so find a plan that allows you to outsource as much as you can. As it picks up you can consider then ditching the "real job" and then continue the plan
Many IMers need to do alot of hard yards work themselves because they don't have the funds to do otherwise. But you've got a great opportunity to invest your income into something that becomes truly passive income- and that's a good option

Making 10k a month you got plenty of money to outsource pretty much everything I'll be lucky to make twice that in a year. Count your blessings especially in this horrid economy.

I think the best way to be "taken by the hand" and taught is to just look around these forums and also google up some tutorials. Learning is a proactive not a passive thing. After a lot of reading you start to get the idea. You haven't said what kind of internet business you want to start...there's a lot of kinds.

10K US per month would be quite a lot. Around us, you need to have a phd degree with several years of experience to reach that level, if you are in major engineering discipline... It is another case in financial though...

Or it is 10K Japanese Yen, or 10 Indonesia Rupiah? If that's the case, quite immediately without any thinking... :LOL

Depends how much you are willing to invest. Starting from scratch with brand new domains and following an ebook isn't going to get to your goal anytime soon.

My recommendation would be to browse Flippa for an established site in a niche that interests you. In the current climate it is possible to negotiate some good prices, especially if you have cash on hand. Look for a site with consistent income and traffic with the potential to continue growing.

Invest about $10k in a decent whitehat site and then spend about $500 on two VA's to manage your site and work basically full time on SEO. You'll probably buy a site making around $1k a month for that amount, but with some decent work you should be able to increase the income substantially with full time staff. Reinvest a little each month to build a network in that niche - until you can dominate it. I was talking to a client yesterday who has been slowly investing in forums over the years. He now has a high $XXX,XXX portfolio earning him excellent money each month, relatively passively.

So my advice: ignore the get rich quick schemes, and invest in a whitehat site for the long-term.

    Scottie,
You are already earning a very decent income off-line and as you have yourself said, it's crazy to quit. I however acknowledge that your drive could be very strong towards online business or away from your current JOB.

As contributors have already advised, it would be prudent to consider the fact that to make money on the internet takes time and raw determination. This is honestly very true. In fact for you, it might take a little longer because as you have already stated, you are a complete newbie.

There are many options out here for a side business alongside your regular job. If you have some savings, probably it would be wise to invest in some already running business as a non-executive equity partner. That way, you will not be hands on but can share in the ROI.
This position will expose you to the world of online commerce and will be invaluable to you when you later decide to go out full blast.

Yet another possibility is to outsource your online tasks to freelancers who will build your business for you. With an investment of $2000, your business should be up and running in a month for at least 3 months. By that time, it should be able to run itself. $2000 is the higher limit though- you could do it for $1000 depending on the kind of business you choose.

But do not quit your job until you have a return of at least $15k a month.

      Hi grafx,

A good idea you come up with, which I actually haven't giving too much thoughts...

It would probably be a good idea to invest just like you suggest. But then again, who to trust and where to put the money...

Maybe it's just because I don't know the "right" people to contact in order to do the suggested, I might know a lot more after spending some more time at this forum for instance.

But very good idea you come up with, one that I'm sure would be very good for me to follow!

I would like to say thanks to everyone here giving their comments and help, it sure means a lot to me!

I believe I have a good understanding, and also some good ideas to work on with. I found two roads that I need to go from this thread:

    1) Finding myself a mentor who can help me get in the right direction.

    2) I will pay for a VA and get things outsources.

So once I find out what there needs to be done exactly I can outsource things and spend my own time managing and working on my ideas..

You have all giving me a lot of valuable information and I am very grateful for that! Also, since I just got access to the war room, I will have a lot of reading and digging to do.

So I might be looking around for a good mentor and coach, and you already mentioned a few possibilities that I need to look in to.

What a fantastic place here, I'm very happy so see so many people offering help and support!

Hopefully soon I will be own the right track, and I will let you know how things work out...

I've read a thread in here long time ago that he's been working online for 3years and buying some stuff to guide him and even hire a mentor but still he's nowhere earning much. Here's my say:

    Read

You make $10K/mo at your job. Don't quit until you get off the ground in the online world.

Why? Because $10K/mo aren't easy to find. Say you quit now, but didn't start seeing any money from your online endeavors for another few months or so. How will you live? If you have to get another job to just put food on the table, you'd be so lucky to get one that makes $8/hr - can you live on $10K/YEAR (pushing it) after a lifestyle accommodated by $10K/mo?

There's plenty of info right here on the forum. If you have extra money to outsource, more power to you. In fact, that's what you should be doing - set aside extra money, even if requires giving up dinner out a few nights, to invest in your business. Take whatever profits you earn, then reinvest BACK into your business. This is how businesses grow - it's a snowball effect. Don't quit your job until you get the momentum going - regardless of whether you're making money, you do need to eat.

    My suggestion...

-Find your passion. Find something you love talking about, are knowledgeable on, and would be comfortable blogging about it daily.
-Decide what type of marketing you're going to pursue; affiliate, content, search engine, etc.
-Do your due diligence. I'd suggest using Market Samurai for this.
    -Decide on Domain and hosting

The steps after this vary dependent upon what type of marketing you're going to pursue.

If you manage to pull something off from the internet then that's the time to decide if you want to pursue on IM and make it full-time or not.... I am surprised to see that you were recommended to make $20,000 a month before you quit. Seriously, how many people are able to make $20,000 per month net part-time? If you chase after this target, the chances are that you will never be able to quit.

Rather than looking at an exact figure, you should figure out how much you actually need, taking into account of any future needs. Also, if it is easy to jump in and out of your profession, then you can take your chances earlier. Having a few hundred thousand dollars of net savings and assets would also help.

Fantastic so many replies and help from my fellow warriors..

Thanks, I really appreciate every post in this thread. At the moment I'm reading and reading and reading..Took one advice and joined the war room, so I have read a lot there as well as reading through so many suggestions that many of you came up with.

I know that things are not happening overnight, and I definitely don't expect it to come like that either. I do know that I have put my mind into it and that means I WILL get there eventually. I truly believe that if one just keep going after a dream, whatever it may be anyone will eventually get there. There is no doubt in my mind..

Yes there will be walls that I run into (have already), but as long as I keep finding a way around these walls and just keep staying positive and certain that I will get there then...I will succeed... I just still haven't figured out precisely how yet even though I have a few ideas...

    But I'm sure I will...

      2) Visited forums, online live chat, local businesses and found out their language.
      3) found out if they had money to spend (yes even in this recession) They did!!
      4) Found out exactly what problems they were having!
      5) Tried to solve these 5-6 problems with simple videos. VIDEO rock and take hardly any time to do properly...a few days.

      6) Build that list, I make massive money from the 30k list I have of these people. This makes you stand out and be able to help people for free. If you help people for free they almost want to throw money at you for your product.

      7) then you backend, this is the REAL KICKER! I make good money from my videos yes, but I have monthly membership clubs and then a big coaching thing i do where I charge $2997.00 and it sells like hot cakes. WHY...well before I said you need to help these people first for free. Make them crave more.

I know this sounds simple, but to a newbie it aint.

I would first take a whole day off and come in here and READ, READ and then READ some more. Take notes, then more importantly take action. I am sure you will see some results.

I just merely hang out with top notch marketers in here, one who earns over $1 million dollars a year. YES! do what they do, and watch success hit on you like a ton of bricks.

Hope this helps young entreprenuer. Good luck!!!

      Celente.

The thing is I don't want that job, I want to make a living working online!
The question here is whether you would like a job at all. I mean, you make plenty of money. What is the driving factor? You want more money? You simply hate your job? You want to make that money but "online" (means without having to go to work)?

Whether you are doing that job right now or start in IM, IM IS ALSO A JOB - its not all sunny and rosy...and ESPECIALLY not if you are a newbie.

Are you believing in the tale that you can quit your job and then a month later you have "autopilot money" coming in? Because it wont be that way, very likely.

Please be aware that there are people out there who would kill for your current job, maybe you should simply appreciate what you have?

      I agree with George.

However, here's an idea. A brilliant one if I may say so.

Are you able to take a one year Hiatus? Or in other words -- a Leave Of Absence from your duties/job?

If so, I would highly recommend that you go that route, as then only time will tell if you like the IM World or can even be as successful as you are where you are currently employed at. You can do this without risking what you currently have. I'm sure in time you will really appreciate what you already have (or maybe not)!

Just a thought! My 10K worth, anyway!

Wishing you much SUCCESS, WEALTH and HAPPINESS!

      JMB

P.S. For some that may not know what I'm talking about:

"Are you able to take a one year Hiatus? Or in other words -- a Leave Of Absence from your duties/job?

It means not getting paid for a whole year from your employer, but still having a job waiting for you after this time-period, if you chose to go back. It's a way to embark on other adventures on YOUR OWN DIME without losing your current position/job.

Scottie, The advice I would give you is to stay away from information overload. If you buy too many products and software, you might find yourself running around in circles for a few months like I did when I was starting out.

If you're serious about quitting your day job, I would give yourself a few months to experiment with IM so you can find something you like.

Once you find something you like doing (blogging, affiliate sales, etc.) then quitting your day job won't as big of a deal.

To recap, give it a few months to find what you like doing before you quit your job. Once you find what you like. Say goodbye to your day job.

I would definitely not quite your day job. Build up income online in your spare time and get it steady and consistent. Once you can do that you will have your day job income and online income and really be able to build up some cash.

Once you have a lot of cash built up and your traffic etc is steady you could then quit your day job and having the capital to continue to back your new ventures.

Well first before you decide, you must ask yourself, can I do it? Am I financially stable? because sometimes there are unexpected cases that may occur and definitely this will lead to bigger problems

I love listening to the story given by the late Jim Rohn how he tells of his part-time income when starting out with network marketing. This became his story and message.

At first he said "wages earn you a living, profits make you a fortune. Profits are better than wages"

He explained how he made as much working part-time on his fortune as he made working for a living. Eventually, he made more money working part-time on his fortune than he made from earning a living and at that point he decided it was time to give up his job and go work full time on his fortune.

I think this is a wise course to take.

Markets to do with insurance, financial stuff, etc, generally have the potential to rake in a lot of money. The comissions you can get for sending other people leads are huge.

If you're UK based (and maybe even if you're not) check out this site thoroughly: The Affiliate Marketing School - Home

They're a community who use PPC (and some also SEO / organic traffic) and their own websites to filter leads to a central database run by the "school", who pay many pounds (well into double and maybe sometimes triple figures).

The more fresh leads you can muster up, the more they also get paid. They assign you a "headmaster" (your own personal mentor) who takes you through the whole thing.

It's not for everyone as the sorts of keywords you'd be bidding on can cost quite a bit, but since you have a pretty income from your job I presume you may have enough "spare change" laying about to be able to really get your teeth into that.

I haven't kept up to date with them for a few years, but it looks to still be going strong.

My advice is to always follow your passion. Don't do something just because it pays the best. I walked away from 2 offline businesses with enough money to live for about 2 months. I've never "worked" another day since then.

I've lived a great life and made more money than I ever thought possible. But, the internet lifestyle has its drawbacks to. For one, most of your friends can never do anything with you. For me, most of my friends can't afford to do anything anyway, lol.

And keeping a regular schedule is tougher.

But, if your dream and desire is to have an internet business and absolute freedom then go for it. From what I've seen so far in this thread you are on the right track.

Keep learning, figure out what you like and stay focused on small goals at first. Maybe your first goal should be getting up a website. You'd be amazed how many people don't even get that far.

Then yes for sure, if you can afford it and learn from others well, pursue a coaching program. Just find someone doing exactly what you want to be doing and do exactly what he is doing.

This is called modeling. If you want the same results, do the same thing.

Online business isn't rocket science. But there are a TON of things to learn. It will take time for you to adapt and learn. Just keep at it one day at a time.

I for one wish you the best!

You need to understand the basics first. Here are some tips for ya:

    1. Create an account at Google Webmaster Tools.

    2. Download The Google SEO PDF Provided in The Webmaster Area

    3. Create an Account a SEOBook.com. They will be sending you an email containing some basic SEO tips everyday.

    4. Go to the free ebooks section on this forum and download everything you think that might help ya. But, don't purchase their bonus offers because most of the time the offers are B.S . Even some WSOs are total BS here! I am telling you to download these free stuff because most people list their stuff their to capture your email in their autoresponder and in return they will give you some basic info. Go and read everything you can!

Now, you said that you earn 10K a month, it would be wise to use that money to invest into something. I suggest you purchase:

    1. Zeus66's Article Rewriting WSO

    2. Market Samurai Keyword Research Tool or Keyword Elite.

    3. Inansoft SocialBot

    4. Webhosting at bluehost or similar. Domain names at Netfirms.

    5. Angela's Backlinks WSO

    6. If you don't wanna do SEO, you can invest in PPC. I suggest you use Yahoo Advertising, Microsoft Adcenter and Google Content Network.

    7. An Aweber account after you get a decent understand of listbuilding!

So, now you must be asking what the hell I'm talking about! I suggested that you download the free stuff on this forum right? Go and do that, you'll get an idea.

I think I have a little wordpress e-book on my harddrive somewhere, I might give it to you if you want. But, if you already know how to use wordpress then you won't need it! Just PM me if you need it.

P.S WSO means Warrior Special Offer. You can find those in the special offers forum on the frontpage.

P.F.S Some people might have told you that you're being an asshole by leaving your 10K/mo job but I don't think so. You got to like what you do and if you like to make money online, just go for it!

L.S To make money online, you got to help the people whom you're selling to. If you don't, you won't be making any money, I can guarantee that!!! When working online, your main goal is to help your customers and not to just sell them your ****.

in these times...I'd hold on hard to a job paying $10K a month. Work online part time save enough to last you three years and maybe in 3 years time things will have hot a bit better. Right now....i think you are making a huge mistake even considering this. Things might be about to get worse.

10K a month! What kind of work do YOU do? I just started out with internet marketing myself also. Warrior Forum was recommended by the avenues I used to get started as the best place for information. You have already upgraded your access to the War Room so you have already started up the right path. Take advantage of some of the marketing techniques there.

I will be upgrading soon too. Unfortunately for me I dont make 10K a month so I have to take it slow.

    Comments on the comments:

Hard or impossible to make 10K a month? Why the #&$(#*& then are we all in marketing? Forget it then. It's either possible or it's just a stupid hobby.

He never said he was going to quit cold turkey and expected 10K a month instantly. I don't know how people are reading that into the post.

Stay at your job and be happy because you make good money. Geez really? Is money the only factor in life? What happened to the "internet lifestyle" where people could surf, travel, and control their own life without begging for time off or a raise?

The stupid is strong in this thread.

All the people who say don't quit your day job until you're making $20K a month, let me ask you... why should he have to make double what he does now before he quits?

If he has no debt and he can keep his monthly overhead down, he could quit his day job when he's making $1K a month. You don't know the particulars of his situation, and one thing is for sure, you get $10K a month jobs by making stupid choices.
