Screenflow Problems - Can Anyone Help????

Hi everyone!

I am having trouble recording my screen in screenflow when i change the screen res on my imac to 640 x 480 - when i record anything it shows up in the screenflow recording in only a quarter of the screen. I've looked everywhere for a solution it even exports it showing up as the desktop in the top left hand corner and all the rest of the screen is black.

Is it not possible to record your desktop in 640 x 480 then or is there a solution?

Any help much appreciated! xxxxx

Love
Sarah

You don't want to record at that size, you want to record normal, and before you export you can select that 640 x 480 box size for your final video.

Thanks avenue girl, but if i did that my screen is still too small for the viewer. I've been told to film with a larger screen so people can see better what I am doing on screen. So you use screenflow to record your on-screen workings without the problems of it looking too small? Many thanks, Sarah

No screenflow does not work this way. Its one of the first thing Camtasia (not sure if you are) users try to do because they are so used to recording just a portion of the screen. You record everything in screenflow, then while editing you crop to the video size you want.

Leave all of the original settings on your mac and screenflow, because one of the best things about screenflow is that you clip everything once you start the editing process. For dog sakes don't muck around with your resolution! That's just creating headaches and more work for you.

If you want to have a very close up look of text, or a browser, then go into the program you are recording like Word or Firefox and make the settings in that program visually bigger. However, unless you are doing a Google style search video where you want really nice looking fonts for super close ups, you just wont even need to do any kind of adjustments for screenflow recordings.

        What he said.

Yes, you can zoom in and back out and all of that in editing.

And When you are finished, you select the player size you want it to display in.
