How long does DNS transfer from Godaddy to Hostgator take

Yesterday I closed my Godaddy hosting for a domain and set the domain nameservers to point at my hostgator reseller account. How long does it take for Hostgator to see this transfer?

I was going to search the WF for the answer, but SEARCH is broken today

I've seen as much as 12-14 hours, more than that I would call support

Thanks. it has only been about 8 hours since last night's change.

Is 12-14 hours normal for all DNS forwarding?
Is there a domain host that is quicker.

1/2 an hour --OK, thanks for that Alexa.
In the future I will go with namecheap. It has always been highly recommended here.
I just have to clean up old hosting and get it where it is cheaper and easier with the hostgator cpanel.

I have domains at godaddy, and just did one a couple of days ago to hostmonster (yes, I know it's not the same) and I think it took a whopping 2 minutes to happen.

In my experience, it takes a few hours. Godaddy is always very quick when it comes to changing nameservers.

Any questions just let me know

Propagation time has nothing to do with where the URL is registered or where it is going. I seems to be based on how busy the net at large is during the time period. I have never had it take longer than 30 minutes lately. I remember the old days it could take 7 days! Now I get antsy in 10 minutes. Lol.
