How Can I Reverse Engineer Someone Else's Traffic?

I've discovered a few new competitors in one of my niches by spending a bit of time on Quantcast.com (VERY interesting browsing!!).

Anyways, I've got the top keywords he's being searched on, and now I'd like to find how people are finding him using those.

I've looked in the Google organic results, Adwords, etc, yet I haven't found him. Still, he seems to be getting 20k visitors a month on a very specific set of keywords, so he's got to be doing something somewhere.

Does anyone have any sneaky little web tools that help reverse engineer traffic sources? Quantcast is great, and Alexa shows some stuff, but I don't think its as detailed as Quantcast (if memory serves).

Any others out there?

    argh.. I just did a link popularity check on this guy and somehow he's got 72000 backlinks showing in Yahoo... ugh... that's tough to beat.

      That doesn't mean they are direct backlinks...if you submitted an article to EZA it would show thousands of backlinks from that site but only one is yours.

      If you use firefox, you can get the free plugin called seo for firefox...good info from that tool.

    Maybe he is targetting other Search engine.

    Heck there is other promo method for him to get the traffic. Maybe he is listed in forum for certain keywords. Or he might have set a CPA campaign, offline marketing also comes to mind.
