Writer's Block On Physical Product Articles For Ezine - Help Please!

Hello World. Well, at the very moment, I am writing for Ezine articles to product my Amazon sites, in the style of Daniel Brock and Sara Young. However, I am stuck in a huge writer's block here. What I am trying to avoid is heavily promotional or salesy stuff. I did get an idea but I am running out of ways to utilize it without my articles all sounding the same and following some repetitive pattern. Does anyone have any tips at all on how I can mix this up and still get a decent CTR?

Any and all help is appreciated, and I need a lot of it now. Just a huge roadblock for me.

P.S.: I know outsourcing is an option, but the writers can't seem to get the formula right (tried two already, articles are too promotional).

    Hi Biggy,

I have the same problem, so for now Im just outsourcing.

Once Ive got myself some more time available I will be investing in a course for article writing.

I would suggest do a search for "Free article templates", these things can help you write about the same subject in dozens of different ways.

As long as you have the basic info for the article available then the templates should really help a lot.

As far as I know, Ezine doesn't allow product keywords in their articles.

You can probably get some to fall through the cracks.

Mostly every single product oriented article I post up there gets declined....

It's one of their major rules in their ToS.

Why don't you write a couple other articles on Go Articles and Hub Pages? A couple extra targeted back links couldn't hurt....

      Regards,
      Dan

That's weird, I've seen single product orientated articles there. Submitted recently as well. What I've been told is that as long as it is not too promotional they should accept it.

The articles I outsourced will go on GoArticles for extra backlinks to my site and my Ezine Article, but my problem is how to write the actual article for Ezine without getting so repetitive. Backlinking isn't a concern for me now.

BTW - Off topic for you, Dan - I still owe you a review of Profitzon. It's coming.

I don't know for certain (I've never seen anything about it in the rules) but I submit product keyword articles nearly every day and have never had one declined yet. The only time they're not allowed (as far as I know) is if you're direct linking to the merchant page - if you link a product related article to your own site then there isn't a problem. I'm open to correction here though - I could well have missed something.

You need to find some old J. Peterman catalogs. They ROCK. I have my growing stash. I think you may find some good stuff on their site and blog. After a while you pick up their pattern, and it's a fantastic story/product mix.

Read, then write. Read, then write. Read, then write.

          Good luck.

I think you have to be a top level author, is it premium?? can't remember, but then maybe it is not as big a deal. I have been ok if I did a true review article, but I wouldn't try to do it everyday as a basic plus author.

I do product reviews on other sites and they can rank well if you backlink a few times, but ezines is the best. I normally find a low comp keyword that is 'general' and use that for ezines, still get traffic, just not as targeted.

Thanks a mil for the input, all of you. I'd like more input, but from what I've read so far was some good advice.

    Hi
Some top tips I use ( I write for a number of offline clients in the UK) is to think about why they are buying what you are "writing about".

For example what is the solution this product delivers. With any article just think it through first. A quick brian storm around what are the keypoints. For example if it was a flip camera it might be a family purchase, perhaps to take photos of the kids, ease of use uploading on You tube.

    Hope This helps?

    Cheers

I like that. I have added you to Skype to discuss this further. I managed to get another article done, but I can always use more ideas.

I write these kinds of articles often. It's difficult to find that balance, but I prefer to sell a little too softly than too hard, like it seems you do too.

What I find a good balance is an article about a problem the product fixes. For example, if you have X problem with your body that Y widget fixes, write an article about simple ways of fixing X problem. Y widget can be listed as one of the ways, but make sure the other ways are reasonable, too. They don't have to be top-secret, just common-sense advice and solutions.

As an add on to that you can sometimes get idea from Google's keyword tool. It gives you what people are serching for and often gives you great direction as to what people are really looking for to get out of a particular product. Write on that need and it won't sound promotional.
