Hello!
Does anyone have input on Virtual assistants?
I'm looking to hire one.
Is there a website that offers this?

Thanks All.

Finding a good Virtual Assistant can be tricky. The trade association for Virtual Assistants has a directory of members. It's located at IVAA - International Virtual Assistants Association

    Good luck!

Im interested in this too! I recently heard about bestjobs.ph
It has people from the Philippines working for between 250 and 350 a month. (Mainly article writers, blog, website, ect)

The only problem with that website is its locked down to new registration.

Does anyone know of a similar site? I want to hire a Filipino.

Have you looked at onlinejobs.ph? This is John Jonas's site you will have to pay to access resumes though it is worth it for a month.

Hi MichaelJames! As recommended by Sue, you may want to try easyoutsource.com. It is free to register and post jobs on the site. The site has an all-Filipino worker base and you can choose one whose skills set would best fit your needs.

I used Onlinejobs.ph though I've had certain issues such as those lifted resumes from Bestjobs.ph. I much prefer looking at Bestjobs.ph or oDesk much often now since they all have qualified virtual assistants from the Philippines.

We've started using a service advertised on this forum based in the Phillipines, but so far not very good!

Should things change - I'll be back to recommend them.

Should things get worse - I'll be back to warn you

    All the best

Something I didn't point out in my post about IVAA.org is that it is an international organization with VA's all over the world. You should also consider using a VA even if they live in the US. There are many, many places in the US where a livable wage is a few dollars an hour. I've seen so many complaints about companies in the Philippines and India that turned in lousy work or disappeared mid project.

I highly recommend fellow warrior, Katie Rich. She's based in the U.K. and her rates are very reasonable for the quality and type of work she does.

She has an ad in the Warriors for Hire forum and her warrior I.D. is Katie Rich.

        Best regards,
        Merlyn

I don't know your level of IM experience or your knowledge of the outsourcing industry, but here are two key points that I've discovered in several years of being a professional outsourcing manager:

          1. Don't expect one person to be an expert in SEO, copywriting, graphic design, php, offline marketing, etc.

          2. Start small --- choose a small project within their stated skillset that can be completed and delivered in 1-2 hours. It tests their ability to manage a deadline.

          3. Make sure that you have an exit strategy: I require my outsourcers and clients to use a our pre-delivery process before we sign off on a client's product launch and accept final payment.

Here are some places to find virtual assistants:

      1. AssistU.com
      2. IAVAA.COM
      3. 247VirtualAssistant.com
      4. HireMyMom.com

      As someone else mentioned though:

      1. Don't expect one person to be an expert in everything. Your best best is to match your project with a VA with the required skills. Don't expect your Web person to handle your customer service issues, etc. Depending on your needs, you may have to hire a lot of different people over time to complete c]various projects.

      2. Start small to see how it works out. Don't commit too much until you know how you'll work together. Some relationships just aren't meant to be.

      Hope that helps!
