Need some help in setting up online store!

Hello Warriors,

I am now preparing the site for an online store. However, I still have this difficulty in setting up the online store.

The products are health products. What are the things that need to be considered first when setting up this store? May you recommend helpful tools to be used for this as well?

What method of payment is the best?

I am also currently doing tons of research concerning this.

Please help me and any information you may provide will be highly appreciated.

    • Well I'm in same boat but have an affiliate site but also would like to do my own have site but can't for the life of me put a sign up form on my page. Affiliate for my site(Free MLM training) for list building first and a product one and my own idea. I guess also some kind of payment method other than just offering paypal possibly too? rickling is what I have done so far!!

      Yes, I ship the products. This can be called as drop ship. They order from me then I pay the warehouse to send out the products, which are delivered directly.

      Do you know of any tool which could be of help?
  • Have you looked into osCommerce for the site? It's a free online store template, pretty good.
  • Magneto is an up and comer (I hear) and plan to try.
  • A good script i recommend is ZenCart because has a lot of good features & stuff.
    For the payment, if you can have all the payment methods it will be OK.
    For most of the people, PayPal seems to be good. Now depends on your potential clients what type of payment processor they use, so how I say if you can have all the payment methods, then it will be OK.
  • I have tried most e commerce shopping carts, and my favorite one is the wp-press commerce program called ShopperPress 4.1

    Its devently easy to build a store with wordpress platform and works great with rss product feed built into it for google shopping cart and product listings. Most of the other ecom charge extra for add ons this one doesnt. Go try it they have a 30 day money back.

  • Hey Louie if you want to run an ecommerce store on WordPress you should definitely check out ShopperPress:

    I've just started using it myself and it's freaking awesome.

    Otherwise my second recommendation, though not WordPress, would be PrestaShop.

  • if you want to be worry free after setup, i would suggest you some hosted cart. opensource carts like oscommerce has to be updated frequently as hackers finds exploit n can hack your store if you don't update frequently.

    For hosted carts - ultracart and 1shoppingcart both are good option.
