Looking For Some (Lots?) of Referral Help

Hey Warriors -

Well, it looks like my offline business is starting to gain some traction and I'm beginning to feel the pinch of being a notorious do-it-yourself-er. Yes, I've FINALLY seen the light about outsourcing...

That said, I'm looking to build up my "team" of super-duper IM talent.

Right now I'm looking for:

Article writing (both short articles for article marketing and longer ebook types of reports)
Logo and graphic header design
Sales copy for landing pages and squeeze pages
Flash web designers
Flash widget designers
HTML web designers
Thesis and Artisteer website designers

What I need most in the short term is to find some good HTML web designers. Someone who can take a concept and produce some awesome, professional-looking business sites in Dreamweaver which is what I normally use.

I'm not too much into the cartoonish, ka-pow style of site. At least not for the main site. Maybe it's OK for the landing and squeeze pages...

Here are the qualifications I'm looking for, in order of priority:

1) Happy and positive attitude. I like working with people who are joyful and make me look forward to interacting with them. People with big egos -- no matter how great the talent -- please skip the rest of this thread.

2) Reliable and able to communicate frequently. I like people who are able to give daily updates, even if it's just a short status email. Since I'll be doing more project management I like to keep on top of things. You don't have to be the fastest at what you do, just able to deliver when you say you will.

3) Talent and experience. Obviously your stuff needs to be good. However, if you have talent and not 1) and 2) then I'm not the right match for you.

4) Good value. You don't have to be the cheapest price on the block...although I won't hold it against you if you are. I've wasted enough time trying to save a few nickels here and there so I'm not trying to low-ball anyone. I'm willing to pay more for quality especially if you can meet 1) 2) and 3) above.

If you have referrals from other Warriors or previous clients then that goes a long way. Feel free to PM me with your website, work samples, and any other referrals you may have.

Thanks much!

Wendell

Not to stick a fork in the road, but finding good reliable people can take some time and you may not find them all here - or find them here for what you are willing to shell out.

And a lot of people will not see your post here. You may want to go to the appropriate areas of this forum, and go seek them out and send them some PM's.

    Good luck.

      AvenueGirl -

Thanks for the insight. It seemed to me that I've seen many postings asking for recommendations in this area so I thought it was the most appropriate place to post.

Of course, it was hard for me to tell since the Search function wasn't up until recently...

What other section would you recommend?

      Thanks -

Warriors for hire, look also in the programming area for your html people etc, look in the copywriting forum for those people, and so on.

I would go in and interact with those folks a bit.

I have found too that I sometimes ask for help with a task and someone will pop right in with an answer. This can be a great way to start a list of who is available or might be good to approach.

Make a list of several candidates for each activity you have above, and test all of them out first. You'll be able to compare who does what for how much and what quality/time frame you can expect.
