What to sell as a "front-end" product?

For my new product in my new niche, I am wondering what to sell as a front product. I was thinking about 100 page e -book. But, to sell it by relatively high price (around $50 or more), I think I need several "bonus" products to add. And It requires more work (and ideas about what to add).

So, now I came up with an idea of making it more like 150 pages with a casual conversation style of writing, and divide it into 3 parts, and make it audio lectures, then Sell it as 3 sets of CDs (Mp3), and add an ebook as a bonus (complete transcript). Then I probably don't need much more bonus products (probably I will come up with 1 or 2 bonud products)

Do you think it is a good idea?

I was actually thinking about audio lectures as my back-end product (more than 3 CDs and expensive) so I'm not sure if I should "use up" an idea of backend product at this point.

Is it better to sell just an e-book with a cheaper price and make back-end product expensive with more sets of audio cds? What do you guys think?

Thanks!

From my experience, it's better to sell expensive high-end products upfront. Of course, the first product must really impress the customers. Do it right, and they'll come back to buy more supplemental stuffs that are cheaper.

Why not sell a 1 problem 1 solution lower priced product (with 3 bonuses) ...it's a good way to get some credibility and a feel for what the niche want's - it's not so time intensive so if your product bombs you can go on to the next problem and then sell that and see how it does.

Use the poor performing products as bonuses or a bundle for a backend offer (use 3 bonuses per product no more no less - I've tested this trust me).

This has worked for me in the past.

    Good Luck.
