Ugh -- Dealing with my Own Affiliates - Help

I have some great affiliates that are my good friends.

I talk to them a lot -- perhaps too much.

But I have a new one from India. I love Indians, they do great work.

But since hes from overseas, I have issues trusting him as I A.) dont know how he found out about my product. B.) I feel he could easily knock off my product.

I told him already that I need to know that he will never knock off my product, as this is my #1 fear of any affiliate.

He said he never would, but that he would've if he coudl've, and he woudl've done it immediately. This scares me.

HE also says I should raise my commissions for him from 50% to 75% . I really do not want to do that. I don't have a huge back end (I realize a back end would solve most of these problems).

Anyone have any suggestions on how to deal with this guy?

Are there any products out there that are designed with dealing with affiliates?

Paying him 75% might actually be a LOSS to me as it may actually be better to not have him there at all at that rate, as many other affiliates are in the top ten of Google, and would probably attract the customer at their normal 50%.

It just bugs me that affiliates have ultimate power.
Perhaps I should not talk to my affiliates so much?

Any tips?

I was thinking of telling him I'll give him 75% when he brings in 1000 a month or something. But ugh, I wish I could tell the guy to take a hike.

Does he make enough sales for you to warrant the higher commission?

Yeah im not really sure what your worry is, if you have a great product people are going to try and copy it.. If your product isn't great then you definitely have problems, because someone is definitely going to take your niche over with a better product. Does that make sense? I'm sure someone can do a better job of explaining it than I can.
