Is the New Google Keyword Tool driving anyone else crazy?

I'm really not liking the new Google Keyword Tool. The old one used to be a big help in finding smaller niches than the phrase you typed in, whereas this one only gives you giant niches that are no help.

For example,

If I type in "Make Money Online in Denver"

It used to give me things like,
"Make Money Online in Denver in your underpants"
"Make Money Online in Denver without trying"
and
"Make Money Online in Denver using Twitter."

Now it returns a ton of useless keywords like,
"Make Money Online"
and
"Make Money"

You can filter these out but it takes forever and now you get no helpful suggestions.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a workaround?

Thanks,
Mike

As with anything new, it can take time to get used to things. I think the tool gives you more flexibility. You can drill down by groups of keywords or use the categories area.

I like the flexibility, but the fact is it's not returning the same quality of keywords as before.

I think you are not using in the proper way.

In the new tool below the search box there is "Advanced Options"

Click on that and select, "Ideas containing my search terms"

You should be able to get the keywords which contains all your search terms. If you let the default search it will return keywords containing any of the search terms.

Thank you for the link. Very frustrated with the new Tool, but am trying to work with it, at least for a while. I agree Google is probably monitoring who clicks on the previous interface. I'll add my vote to the mix.

Google have stated that they want to dump the old interface, so I'm bookmarking it...in the hope that they remove the link to it, without removing the old tool itself.

I think the new one's crap (for me) and hope that G doesn't completely dismantle the old one altogether

Seems a few of you share my thoughts

The reason why so many people can't find the old interface (including me) is... They do not want you to find it easily! - for whatever reason.

        It's that simple.

I absolutely hate it. Maybe I missed it, but I didn't even notice how one could easily download (to text/csv) the keyword results (like the prev. interface). Maybe I missed it?

So, I just use the old interface.

So, I just use the old interface.
In the upper left corner of the keyword list, right below where it says "Keyword Ideas," there's a button that says "download."

But, yeah I'm sticking to the old one as well.

Off subject but in response to your download comment... Try the new "Google Chrome" Browser it makes downloading anything a snap..

It dumps anything you download to a tab underneath your your browser page and when it's download you simply drag it to the desktop....

I keep using the old interface as well, I'm not so happy about the new one.. Maybe I'm not using it the right way, but when I add the column about CPC, then the only thing I get is: -. So no numbers there.

Pretty much my thoughts. I tried, really tried, to use the new interface, but i really really hate it (to where I started looking for alternatives before a colleague (I work in SEO) pointed out the Previous Interface toggle link).

Its not only the old KW interface, also the remaining adwords interface is "odd".
I didnt do in adwords for over a year...so yesterday i made a "test" campaign and i dont even see my quality score anymore respective dont get any clues whether or why an ad is showing or not.

I made a campaign and "shoved" a load of keywords in it and set a VERY LOW bid, i remember on the old adwords i would have seen an indication that i cannot simply bid $0.02 on a keyword like "weight loss". I would've gotten a warning right away that the bid is too low and that the ad is not showing

But now the ads are just sitting there and i have less information to work with.

I like both. Depending on my specific needs. For example the new tool has the filter keywords feature which I think is very useful. However, I wonder why each time I use the new tool in G Chrome, my default location is United Kingdom and my Estimated Avg CPC is in pounds currency.

Anybody knows how to set the currency to dollars? And by the way, I have already tried clearing my cookies but still I got the same issue.

Every time one of these threads about the new keyword tool comes up, it seems like the majority of people prefer the old tool. If Google is paying attention, they'll notice that and perhaps make the new tool (which is still in beta) a little more like the old tool.
