TRAFFIC TIP - Get traffic from keywords you may not have thought of...Or have you?

I've been testing this out on a couple of websites, and it's certainly brought in about 25% more traffic since I implemented this on my sites.

Just a tip for my fellow warriors!

What is it that's been bringing so much more traffic?

A Q&A PAGE!

I was doing a search looking for what I needed to patch a hole in my canoe...

And what popped up was some Q&A pages from different canoe stores in the area...no google maps or anything like that.

I realized that a lot of people these days type in questions to find what their looking for, rather than just a couple general keywords. .

I also caught myself doing a search for a problem which is probably pretty common. Internet Explorer wouldn't open but Firefox would. I started typing the previous sentence into google and it started popping up with long tail options, took the words right out of my mouth.

Why did google give me that suggestion? Because people are asking that question and similar phrases, very long tail.

So in a weight loss niche, dedicate a whole page to Q&A's related to it.

  • Can I really lose weight by drinking more water every day?
  • How long do weight loss pills take to work?
  • Do weight loss pills really work?
  • Can sit ups really help me get six pack abs?
  • etc.
In a web hosting or computer software niche, a Q&A page might be very effective with a few examples like these.

  • Why won't internet explorer connect to the internet?
  • Why does my computer freeze when I ....
  • Why does my computer go slow when I...
  • Get creative.

**edit- For each answer write a nice longtail keyword rich answer...a short descriptive paragraph linking to another page within your site for the answer will do.
**This also helps give your website some internal linking points, and maybe a nice affiliate link to some antivirus software or backup package

I literally have been getting about 10% more traffic to one particular niche site of mine by adding a Q&A page. Mix some long tail keyword research into this page and achieve pretty good results...with next to no REAL effort.

So I hope this little tip really helps! It shouldn't take more than 15 minutes to implement this on your blogs and gain some valuable targeted traffic.

Just been thinking about how to apply this one. If you want to know what kind of questions your visitors are asking check your keyword search stats. I use google analytics, I just checked mine and there's loads of questions and half questions that could be turned into proper questions.

I believe you have to get into the minds of your customers and what better way is than checking the exact phrases they're searching for to find your site.

That's a good tip my friend.

Your information was right. Because many internet surfers don't know what a keyword is and how to use search engines. So most of them used to search information through questions.

In fact, when I begun my blogging journey, I search to google like this; "Is is Possible to Make Money Online?" And the SERPS gave me many information.

Long tailed keyword also is good way to rank higher in SERPS because there are less blogger/webmasters using it. Most internet users (especially those who are completely internet users) also used to search information through questions.

Thanks for sharing this great information dude!

I believe another thing about this that draws people to your blog or website is the presence of ?'s in a users search phrase.

This is called longtail keywording and should be a part of everybody's arsenal. Do some Googling on the term "longtail".

I have good results with Q&A pages as well, but I don´t have them on all my blogs - will get to work right away (well tomorrow, tonight we´ll have some champagne and dance around a fire, because it´s 24 of June, St. John)

It's funny isn't it how we sometimes over look how we search for things on the internet and forget to apply it to our own marketing? I search using questions all of the time. And obviously a lot of people do because there is ask.com, about.com, ehow.com etc. What a great tool to add to your arsenal. I also appreciate the tips on how to apply the Q & A section.

        Thanks.
