How Fast Does Your List Grow

Hey Everyone,

I just started building my opt in list. Im wondering how many subscribers everyone receives a day on average to your list?

Not fast enough! The latest project I started list building for about 3 weeks ago is growing about 40 per day...however it is a small niche, so I'm pleased with it...but I always want MORE!

The only question/answer that matters is how is your own list growing ... and more importantly .... are your followup messages creating the results ( or sales ) you are looking for?

At the moment... 1 a day.

If anyone has any useful advice, feel free to share. A thread full of random numbers doesn't really help anyone.

I'll be embarking on a PPC -> Squeeze page project soon shortly so hopefully that'll see some good results.

200-300 per day isn't hard to do. I recently built a list of a little over 25,000 in about 3 months but this came with a cost. First, you have to offer people something with value for free. Have them fill in your subscribe form to receive the offer you're giving away. Within the autoresponder that sends out the welcome email include the link to your offer.

Money is in the list however if you're not careful how you acquire your list you will end up getting thousands of non-responsive members that will never actually purchase anything from future emails you send to them.

Bulk traffic isn't the way to go. Targeted traffic, PPC traffic, and Solo Ad advertising is by far the most productive means of building a responsive list. Yes, it will cost you some money but it is an investment that will pay off plus more as you expose your list to other opportunities and/or services in future mailings.

Value, Appeal, and Presentation are the three key factors to getting people to join your mailing list. Value - Something a person can actually use that will benefit them in their ventures. Appeal - Attractive website. Presentation - Ensure your header or subject line attracts the surfer to read on instead of moving on. Keep the surfers interest and keep it short and sweet. Attractive squeeze pages produce better results.

Once you acquire a list regardless the size you will increase your profitablity if you don't send emails only with sales pitches. Send a mix of emails. Send some with nothing but viable info explaining successful methods you've used to generate sales or leads. Send emails expressing your real interest in helping your list succeed. Create teambuilds where you build a site and as people join you place them under people in need of referrals. There's so many ways you can earn a person's trust. But most importantly when you do earn their trust don't let them down. This will turn your list into a loyal member base that will follow you almost anywhere and will remain active which in turn produces more profits for you. A happy member base is a loyal member base.

Sorry for the long post but I hope this helps anyone out there looking to increase their success online.

Between 10-25 on an average day, but it I spend some time working it for a few days, the number will go up to about 125-150.

I think the most important thing to focus on in this area is diligence. I started building my list in IM in March, and right now I'd say I get about 8-10 new subscribers per day. That fluctuates though and people unsubscribe here and there.

But even if you are only growing your list by 1 per day this month, then 2 per day next month, 3 the next etc., as long as you keep working at it and don't give up, you will have a list of ~2300 in a year.

The point is to keep at it and decide that this is what you're going to do, instead of giving up when it doesn't seem like it's working fast enough (that's what I did for a long time)

And then eventually you'll be able to have your list grow by 1500 per day on autopilot like some of the big names do! But it takes time, work, and diligence.

Very refreshing post Rob. It's good to know that this is possible (with the right amount of expectation setting at the start of your relationship with your list).

Yet this tiny list brings in a huge chunk of my income.

With proper list building, segmenting and setting the proper expectations, you don't need a huge list.

      In fact I...

Never really send out free info.

      Never email that often.

Never "worry" about my relationship to my list. Instead, I focus on just giving value at a fair price. (Meaning = I sell stuff)

That's all I do and it works well for me!

      Rob
Incidentally, my list is currently growing at 3-5 per day. That said, it's slowly increasing as I do more article marketing and backlink work to the sites.

I have been getting about 15 per day on my blog (see my signature) which is ok, but not amazing.

My goal is to get to 10,000 blog readers before I even bother selling them anything. I think you can earn more money if you build genuine relationships and then pitch products to people rather than trying to sell to them as soon as possible.

If you have someone's trust they will buy almost anything you recommend - just don't ruin their trust by recommending a product that you yourself do not use or find valuable.
