Starting a Business Directory - Need Advice

Hi guys,

Next weeks will start a new Countrywide (market specific) Business Directory.

Your advices on scripts: PHP or Wordpress? And why?

I've seen the usual PHPLD. Is it solid/safe/SEO'd? Quite frankly I'd really love to test some WP plugin.

Any Warrior can shed some light here?

We did something smaller (more local) with wordpress.

Ontario | Ontario Business Directory | Orangeville, Guelph, Kitchener, London, Caledon

No major plugins needed

Good looking directory you have there BUT mine will be a free one So I really need a way for biz owners to submit their info automatically.

Appreciate your feedback.

Any other ideas of plugins/scripts?

  I am working with a php script called BizDirectory from idevspot (dot) com, it offers free or paid subscriptions. I don't have my site up yet but you can check out their demo.

PHPMyDirectory, in particular, is a very robust solution. If I was going to embark on this, that's what I would pick.
