Outsource article writing

Do most people here outsource article writing? How much do you pay per article? Any and all input is appreciated. I feel I need to do this at some point, but have issues with delegating responsibility (or giving up control) that I need to work on.

I definitely understand how you feel about losing control of your site when other people write articles for you, but you can use them as a base and re-write them in your own words much faster than it would take you to write a whole article by yourself.

My only concern with buying articles is that the owner can sell them again or even wash them with an article spinner and then sell them. Still, I would give it a try and see how you like it. Good luck!

Whoa, thanks for that, good question to ask when I'm trying to find someone. I like the idea or rewriting them myself, so perhaps that will take care of that issue..... hopefully...

This is the way I do it. This way I get a good clean article that I have control over with the least amount work.

When I do the rewriting I usually read what I have then work from the middle out so the article is completely different. If you write from top to bottom you might find that you are only getting a small difference.

I also highly recommend a tool called the best spinner. I use it for all my article writing because it lets me see so many different ways of writing the same thing.

It is also great for spinning your articles, and the name would suggest.

Hi, Dustin here from SEO Generals. Thanks for recommending us! Just wanted to drop by answer the guy who asked if our articles pass copyscape. Yes, all our articles pass copyscape and are written in excellent english. I think the testimonials on our threads (1) and (2) speak for themselves.

Never spend your time writing articles, getting backlinks, etc. Use your time to find niches, keyword research, etc. Even that can even be outsourced when you get to a point that makes sense financially in your business.

Outsourcing your articles does not necessarily mean giving up control as you still have the option to reject any article that does not meet your specifications. While I still do write, the sheer volume of content that I need for my sites necessitates outsourcing. I am able to get 500-word articles for $5 or less but the general trend is that the lower-priced writers tend to produce lower-quality articles.

Well if you are first starting out then you need to write and do all your seo work yourself.

Get some bank roll going and then outsource.

Remember if you have done it, then its easier to teach others how to do it.

As discussed earlier, a decent pay rate would be around $14 to $25/hour for an experienced article writer with good portfolio. A monthly flat rate of $400 to $1500 is also suitable.

WOW, I am really sorry but I happen to think that is an insult. Writing is an art not everyone possesses.

I agree... As a client you are entitled to request exactly what you want. It is your money after all. If a writer is NOT willing to listen to your demands then you can just check him off and move on to the next one. Also, $5 is still low for high quality articles. You get what you pay for. I have clients that have used the $5 writers and end up very disappointed with the results.

Just as with anything, it is a chance you have to take. An honest writer and business person will NOT reuse something they sold the rights to. In addition, in my opinion if a so called "article writer" finds himself in the need to do something like that or is at an absence for words, then he needs to dedicate himself to something else.

Sydney, I understand your fear of losing control, I went through it (maybe its a girl thing ), but I got over that fear and I outsource quite a few things including my articles. However, I have to tell you that when it comes to my articles I do not outsource to anyone that is NOT a native English speaker. I have had too many bad experiences with others. I am not trying to sound rude or point fingers but I rather spend more money and KNOW that I am getting unique and high quality articles than spend a few bucks and have to spend more money in order to have the articles proofread and rewritten.

I can assure you that I pay WELL beyond $5 per article and they are well worth it. As a matter of fact, my article writer joined WF not so long ago, although I found her through a freelancing site. She is a native speaker and was a journalist for many years. Her work is great and well worth the price. This said I can only tell you to shop around, ask for samples and do not settle for the cheapest deal... It is true what they say "you get what you pay for." Believe me, I speak from prior experience.

My thought on this is two fold what if you do outsource and what if you don't?
If you do get somone to write for you there are some good ones out there which would free up your time for other things. But if you stick with writing yourself you will get better and take less time which is invaluable then again you can do both maximizing your potential

If you want quite good quality and yet cheap services, you should try countries like Philippines. Due to the strength of their currencies, $1 meant a lot to them than people living in US, UK or other developed countries.

You can generally pay $4.00-$5 per 500 words article. And of course, you can pay even higher for much better writings. You'll be amazed by the quality of their articles.

My advice would be to consider your target audience, and the actual use the content is being put too, before deciding your budget.

Whilst it is true some cheaper article writers, from countries such as the Philippines, can do a good job of writing English, it is not the actual level of English that is the most important aspect at times.

If I required content which needed to be both well written and informative, I would seek out an individual or team which could demonstrate competence in performing research, and writing with authority upon the subject matter I had in mind.

That being said, I am not knocking cheap content, it has its uses, especially for generic link building type articles. However, if I were trying to convince somebody in less than 500 words, to click an embedded link, visit a website and purchase an expensive product, I would certainly look for something more.

Actually to be honest I wasn't really amazed at all. Definately a good effort but I do find a great deal of gibberish is written. I've used many writers from the Phillipines and found them much better than Indian writers but I still have hd to rewrite the article which beats the object!

I think Id rather pay more and use native English writers!

what you say is very true. I have also learnt that out sourcing articles from English speaking countries in Africa is very cost effect. The quality of content is also not compromised. This is something worth noting if you are looking to outsource articles.

What other SEO related task can you pare it with other that social bookmarking and article directory submission? Also, Are Automated Submission effective...? I just can't get a trace to where they are posting it?

I'm a newbie to this whole thing and this is what I am starting to do.... It would be a great if anyone can share their insights to me.....

Well If you think you have time and you can write articles then better write yourself or you could just outsource them ... People usually charge 1$ per 100 words and there are discounts available for bulk orders.. I would prefer you outsource them and invest your time in other things!

Outsourcing a lot of my article writing has been a huge help, in freeing up my time for more important things. The thing you gotta keep in mind though, is whether your articles are for, link value, or visitor value. IF there just for links, then go for the $1/100 words deals all day long, and use those for linkwheels, mass article distribution, etc....

But, if you're going for visitor value, and want a good return on investment, then go for the high priced writers. Yeah you're going to pay a lot more for the article, but keep in mind, you'll need fewer of these articles, and the quality will be outstanding!

Ive been through an absolute load of writers before I finally found someone who was on time, on budget, charged very good rates and whose English was of US/UK natives.

Seriously, dont waste your time on cheap writers. If you require writers with a good level of English then only use natives from the UK or US and Canada as anything else not be good enough.

Just ensure you are specific in your brief, e.g 500 words where 'keyword 1' should be mentioned no more than 5 times and at the beginning and end etc. You'd be surprised how many cannot folloa baskc instructions. It is a bit of a battle at first.but definately worth it so you can focus on growing your business.

    Good luck

In order to grow and be great a leader has to give away power in order to gain more power.

As only one person your reach is limited.

Train others the ways you want them to work - and your reach and power will grow .

Do not be afraid to give away power - it will only help you in the long run.

Learning to delegate is a major trait of all the great leaders.

    Hi Cindy,

You should definitely outsource your article writing.

While I understand that you are afraid to lose control, you should still give article writing and other grunt work to someone else so you can focus on planning for your business. You should start thinking about huge companies. There is a reason why they hire people. They cannot do everything on their own. The only way that your business will grow is that if you duplicate yourself and get other people to do certain tasks for you.

    regards,

    Aira

I never outsource articles, but then, I tend to do more writing for other people and I don't believe subcontracting is the right option for me right now. Even for my own projects, I've tried outsourcing to $5 article writers and I have been sorely disappointed (which was actually what led me into working as an article writer myself).

It's impossible to find an "average" price to pay for an article. It could be $1-$100 or more for a 500-word article. Just remember, in most cases, you can only control one of these two things: price and quality. If you want more of one, you have to be willing to budge a bit on the other.

To be able to move on into a more advanced strategy for your site, you must give up the writing work. Yes, outsource in freelance sites. Even if you want to use a spinner, (even if it is from thebestspinner or easyarticlespinner.net or jetspinner) it is still a good choice to give up on the article related job. No matter how much you pay for a writer, you'll discover that you'll find a lot of duffers out there that don't know the difference between write/right!

Having said that though, once you have the money to take your business to the next level, you should outsource as much of the grunt work as you can! I held on longer than I should've and ended up holding back my progress.

Be prepared to find a writer you like and for them then to either stop writing or get booked up. So try and find at least two and split your work between them.

      Good luck!
