Internet Marketers Help Fight Homelessness

I know this is off topic for this forum but I wanted the most people to see it as possible. I apologize for this in advance.

With the economy the way it is there are a lot of people in trouble. Many families have to decide whether to buy food or pay their mortgage. Many of these people have families and they are in trouble. Many people are loosing their homes.

A fellow internet marketer who used to be homeless and understands what these people are going through decided to do something to help. The project is called the Viva project and the motto is "Helping ONE Life at a Time". The goal of the project is to help people who are in trouble of losing their homes with advice on their foreclosure and also giving money to the families in need. The idea is not only to help monetarily but give people advice so they don't go into foreclosure again.

The site just launched and has generated about $15,000 dollars to help 9 families within the first 24 hours - with everything from food to help paying the mortgage. The process to verify that people need help is very thorough and involves faxing documents of foreclosure to the project. This is a necessary step to verify who needs help actually gets it.

A lot of us here are blessed and maybe have gone through a similar experience in their life. Some of you here may be in a similar situation. Maybe you know someone going through this in their life. So, I think this hits home for a lot of people.

What I am asking is for Warriors to give back. Even if it is only a couple of dollars you can help people that need it. Our government doesn't seem to be stepping in like they did when they bailed out the banks so we need people to do that for them.

Please visit the site and check it out and give a few dollars if you are able to.

Hi Michael: What you are doing is very noble, but you can't take care of everyone. There is a family here that I am helping out, because they were about to lose their home. The couple has 2 children in school. The husband has been laid off, and his wife only works part-time.

I'm sure that there is grant money available, if you wanted to start a fund that people could borrow from, interest free for a certain number of months, until they could get back on their feet. I don't see how the government could refuse, since they are giving billions to companies that got themselves into a mess because of their own greed.

    Good luck.

      Dixie,

Thank you but this isn't my site - this is a site of one of the guys I am learning IM from. I am just trying to get the word out to help him and the families. I know we can't help everyone and that is why he had to turn down a lot of families, there just weren't enough funds available.

The idea is to help one life at a time and do the best we can. A lot of the people that were initially helped are in the process of learning IM as well which is why it is a unique project.

That is great that you were able to help a family and I bet it made you feel great. I think that is part of the reason we are here in this world. As far as the government helping out I just don't think they made the right decision, it was a big bandaid for a gaping wound. Now, one could make the argument that these people got into this situation themselves by buying a house they couldn't afford. But, take a look at a lender like CountryWide. They were giving out bad mortgages left and right that were confusing and the people could not afford. They are now being sued for practicing such shady tatics.

If someone is able to help even if they don't know the family that is very honorable. We are just trying to do the right thing and get families back on their feet.
