How long before your members buy your products after launch?

For those of you who have done product launches before, how long is it before people actually start buying whatever you've sent out to them? I'm thinking it could be minutes, and sometimes days before someone actually buys what you've shot out to them.

What has it been like for you?

    danny,

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you.

Just recently I had a 150 person list and pulled $1,400 in one day.

edit: misunderstood OP... in that case, it's obvious 100,000 would result in a faster click. But with 500 people, I just did a mailing and saw my first open 20 seconds after. With the technology of blackberry's and iphone's emails are pretty much instant contact.

It's common sense. If you have 100,000 people on a list more people are getting the email. The more inboxes your broadcast hits, the more likely someone will click through.

A list with 100 people vs. a list with 100,000 people....The list with 100,000 people will see more instantaneous results every time.
Why would the size of your list affect how quickly your subscribers open up your emails? Do a proper job of getting your subscribers amped up and they'll be more likely to be waiting for that "GO GO GO!!!!!!11" email.

OP - If you're waiting days for your first sale...well, you better rethink your strategy

To make this very simple...if ALL of your 100 subscribers opened the email the second they received it and only 1% of your 100,000 people opened the second they got it, you'd be tied.

            Make sense?
First of all, 1% of 100000 is 1000.

Secondly, let me ask my question again: how does the size of your list affect how fast the emails get opened? Your response deals with quantity of emails opened...I'm talking about how fast emails get opened.

If you're just dealing with probability, then yeah you'll most likely get someone on your 100K list opening before someone on your 100 list. But that's not taking into account the steps you take in order to get your subscribers to open your emails (i.e. your relationship with them, [maybe] your subject line, an incentive, your pre-launch efforts, etc.).

    I apologize, misread the OP.

In that case I respectfully agree.

With technology like the smart phones results are instant, and with a 100,000 person list, it is seconds.
