i've gotten 89,000 visits so far to an article i wrote; i need advise

Before i start off, i would like to let the house know that i am a newbie that is looking for help/advise.
I started off internet marketing in december 2008, and got discouraged when i found out that my country couldn't participate in a lot of the money making programmes online,so i got a 9 to 5 and forgot about the internet.

One thing lead to another, and i found myself back on the internet, trying to make another attempt at it, around the beginning of this year. It has not been a smooth road, but i have learnt a lot.

But the present issue is that back in 2008 when i started off on the internet, i wrote an "how to" article for ehow.com(just 1 article), and i got discouraged when i found out then that they were not paying people from my country (nigeria), so i left the site and never returned.

It was not until yesterday that i got a mail informing me of a new comment on my article(the article i couldn't even remember writing), and then, to my surprise, when i logged on to my account on ehow.com, i found out that the article i wrote back in dec 2008 had attracted 89,000 visitors.

That left me in awe, but the main issue is that i want advise on how to monetize it;
Should i add a link to a clickbank product on the conclusion part of the article? (i tried that, and i think ehow didn't allow that come up or something). You know links can be ugly, but there is a way to create links that are not the original ones you get from clickbank but lead to the same product sales page. I know people can do that, but as i said, i am a newbie.

Should i start a new blog revolving around a product on clickbank that is related to the article i wrote, and put the link of the product on my blog?

Please, i need comments; and really fast one.
Thank you.

i told u i was not good with the links, but if u head over to ehow.com and search "how to last longer during sex", my article comes up at the top, and my username is kay29000.

Maybe 79,900 were 15 year old boys who have no money?

An article does not necessarily attract buyers of anything. I once had 11,000 visitors in one night for a silly key chain I sell.

How many sales that night? ONE

lol....yes very good, but also very true. It is a bit like using the word 'torrent' as a part of a long tail keyword. It is a very popular keyword with a lot of searches. However, everybody using it in their search terms wants a freebie.

Yeah but no use fretting about it now, better late than never.

If it were me I would personally develop my own site/blog and direct a link at that and then monetize your site/blog with offers related to your topic. Maybe even create your own product on the topic and try to sell it direct. That way you get all the money.

Yeah, that is what i thought when i saw it, but like what gregory said, there is no use fretting over that right now; it is better to find a way forward.

@peter gregory, thanks for the comment, you just gave me an idea.

        I would appreciate more suggestions.

@advertisepsace, i have not heard anything from you again. What's up?

eHow has gone through a lot of changes and I'm not sure if there's going to be anything that you can do to capitalize on this. You can no longer include affiliate links in the articles and they've switched over to using Demand Studios as the platform, meaning that you have to be a DS writer if you want to write for them. I'm not even sure if you can make an update to the article or not.

Anyway, I'd go with creating your own site and listing it as a resource at the end of the article, if that's still a possibility.

    Love,
    Shannon
