Web based bulk emailing solution?

Hi does anyone know of a free or inexpensive web based bulk emailing provider.(not looking for an autoresponder)

I help my wife with the admin for her tennis coaching business and we have built up a contact list of 1100 people.

The contact list is on her yahoo mail account and is becoming a pain to do bulk mailings as they only allow you to send to 100 people at a time and suspend the account for a few hours after sending to more than 500 in a day.

Ideally I would like to be able to just import the list from excel without going through an opt in.
Any suggestions?

    It is super difficult to bulk upload emails to another system without a new opt-in. It is not CAN-SPAM compliant. Aweber won't allow it. Campaign monitor will, but you need to prove to them how you got the emails.

    Why not just use an autoresponder service? I know that's not what you said you're looking for, but really now - they do make life a whole lot easier.

    Buy SMTP from SMTP.com and broadcast using different mailers that supports smtp... for example Interspire Email Marketer or you can try a desktop software like Outlook Express.

      Thanks for all your responses. I've now checked out most of the suggested solutions and will probably set up a new list in my aweber account and get them to opt in. It seems the most cost effective solution long term and I figure I'll only lose those who weren't opening our emails anyway.
