I guess the more you are involved in marketing for businesses and your own, you start to see opportunities and good marketing tactics all around you. I was watching ESPN yesterday morning when all of a sudden they did a quick 3 second mention of a Twitter profile.

If you watch NBA basketball, you probably know that Lebron James hurt his elbow not long ago in one of the playoff games. When a smart marketer got word of this what do you think he/she did? They made a Twitter profile using the now "HOT" keyword Lebrons Elbow.

Now I haven't looked at the twitter profile, but just think of the possibilities. Let's say you run a sports blog or any website that would be affiliated with basketball or physical activity at all. You check your morning hot trends with Google and boom you find the awesome keyword Lebrons Elbow. You make the Twitter profile and you start to get a swarm of followers. Then all of a sudden ESPN mentions your Twitter profile because well, it's a really hot topic in NBA right now.

If this profile points back to your blog/website that eventually promotes something related, you could of just made a small fortune. Think of the numbers that came to that Twitter profile after that short mention.

I post this because Google Hot Trends should be something you are aware of on a DAILY basis. It takes 5 seconds to check what they are and sometimes they are highly related to whatever niche you are involved with.

I always make sure to check the hot trends 3 times a day (they change quite rapidly sometimes and I want to be the first to catch a good one). If something is even closely related to what I'm marketing towards, I will make a quick blog post, video, or podcast and push that sucker for the day. This practice alone has brought my content to a viral state multiple times in many niches. It's simple.

You're not going to get a hot trend everyday in your niche, but maybe once a month you will. And, it's for only a few minutes of your time checking whats hot. One of these has the possibility to bring thousands of visitors just like LebronsElbow did. I think ESPN said they had over 12k followers in less then 24 hours.

If you want a pretty damn good explanation of how to go about hot trends on a daily basis, you should check out Stephen Wagenheim's WSO on the subject. I am no way affiliated with this WSO, but it's very good and simple information that ALL marketers should have in their arsenal.

Just a little tip that you should be using on top of the 10,000 other ways to get lots of traffic .
