Thinking of giving up on Internet marketing?
If you are thinking of giving up on Internet marketing then...
...go ahead!
That's right: give up.
No-one cares. You won't be missed.
There are plenty of other passionate, committed, determined, disciplined entrepreneurs who will stay in this game long after you have been and gone.
There are plenty of other people who will leave you half-way up the mountain, when the air starts to get thin, the climb gets steeper, and the summit is still a long way away.
There are plenty of others who LOVE Internet marketing so much that, despite all the challenges, the hard work, and no matter how long it takes, they would never dream of giving up.
Which brings me to a question: why are you thinking of quitting?
Is it because it's too difficult to make a living (or any money at all) from Internet marketing?
Or is it because, at the end of the day, you don't really love Internet marketing enough to keep on going when it gets really tough?
You see, it's not all that hard to make money from Internet marketing... if you are willing to do what it takes... and to do what it takes ultimately means loving this business to the point where you'll persist despite the (many) challenges.
And that's why, if you are thinking of giving up... maybe you really should give up. Because maybe you don't really love Internet marketing enough to make it in this business.
You may have been attracted by the promise of quick riches (what a cruel joke) or the 'Internet marketing lifestyle' (oh, didn't anyone tell you that it involves sitting at a computer?) or some other lie... but the reality is that Internet marketing - just like any other pursuit - has its own share of challenges and rewards.
For some - perhaps for you - the rewards just don't offset the challenges. For example, if you really don't like spending time alone, staring at a computer screen for hours on end... you should probably pursue something else.
Okay, so maybe you've read this and you really do love Internet marketing but have been considering giving up because you've been struggling, nothing you've tried has worked, etc. In that case, it's time to do some heavy-duty thinking about what has stopped, or is stopping, you from achieving your goals.
-- Lack of focus?
-- Trying to do too many things, and not finishing any one thing?
-- Not putting in the necessary hours?
-- Working in the business, not on the business?
-- Unrealistic expectations?
Whatever the reason... there WILL be a reason (or more than one), and when you know what it is you can make the necessary changes in order to get back on track.
Bottom line: if you are thinking of giving up on Internet marketing, ask yourself WHY you feel that way. Chances are, it has more to do with YOU than it has to do with Internet marketing.
Apologies if this message sounds a little harsh, but as I said, it's meant as a dose of tough love. I want to see more people succeed in Internet marketing because I know it can be done. But it all starts with having the right mindset - being genuinely passionate about Internet marketing, being willing to learn and do what it takes to succeed, and not letting ANYTHING stand in your way.
