making a squeeze page - advice please

Hi, I'm trying to make a squeeze page for my new product but I have never been successful with it. Whenever I tried a squeeze page, I wasn't able to get good numbers of subscribers and I ended up just using my sales page as my landing page. But for my new product, I want to try it again.

Now that I think about it, I have never learned how to make a good landing page or what is (usually) more effective etc. I learned a lot about writing sales letters but it must be different from it.

Is there any good information about it?
Basically, I want information about "making a squeeze/landing page for dummies"

I know the topic could be too broad, but I'd appreciate it if you could tell me where to start or is there any good information(books, report, website etc)

Thanks

Maybe, since you haven't had much luck with your first squeeze page, you could try creating a Video Squeeze Page.

If you are comfortable with it. They are becoming popular, and really easy to set up since there's not too much on the page. If you did need to find a template, here is a WSO for some great templates that might be helpful to you:

    Good luck!

ikuret, a squeeze page basically has a headline that makes an offer to your visitor (often offering a report or other special information) in exchange for their email address, and then 3 to 8 bullet points describing the benefits of subscribing/getting the report/information to your visitor, and your opt-in form.

Lately, squeeze pages look like articles to the left of the page (with headline, and bullet points going there) and they have a clickable image that "looks like" a small video to play in the upper right corner, with the opt-in form directly below that.

The best squeeze page (if there is such a thing) is one that "works" for you. One that gets you subscribers. There is no template for that because it's not the layout that makes magic, but rather, the words on the page (your copy).

    Hope this helps,

    Tina

PS: Will this be for your ESL product?

Yes, this is for my ESL project.
I'm trying to do both in Japanese and English.
(In Japanese it was my backend product but I'll try front-end products as well by making more - Good thing about this project for me is it's not technically an "info" product so I can make as many as I want and sell!)

It sounds to me that making the page ISN'T your problem. It is getting traffic to sign up. You need to focus on getting targeted traffic to your squeeze page. I have seen squeeze pages that really suck-looked aweful, but because the person who had the page was driving TARGETED traffic to it, they were building a great list. Focus on driving TARGETED traffic to your page and you should see results.

      Hi,
well, actually, that's not the case.
I have constant around 1% conversion rate for close to $200 product that I am very happy with. (and that's why I really didn't try hard for making a good squeeze page)
      So, the traffic is right.
Just my copy-write is somehow wrong - I suppose - to get them to sign up. And yes, I tried several kinds of offeres, (free gift, news letter, part of the product, etc etc) but the result was almost the same.

    Hi

The most important thing when making a good squeeze page is to make you offer 'irresistible.' If you can offer people something that they REALLY want they will bite your hand off to get it. My advice would be to approach your squeeze page as though it is a paid product. Get some professional graphics made and come up with a fancy title for your report (or whatever you are offering.) Make it sound exciting - "Top 10 Tips For xxx" might have worked in the past but people are becoming more and more choosy about what they will opt-in to receive. Professional graphics can really do the "selling" for you.

One of my squeeze pages converts at 77.5% because the traffic I send to it is super targeted and (in my opinion anyway) the offer is "irresistible" to the people who land on the squeeze page. I spent quite a bit of time and money getting the graphics made and making it look good.

Stick at it mate. Building your list is more important than anything.

    Daniel
