Where can I find content to fill my empty classifieds and business directory sections on my website?

I have a few sites that I've built and am trying to fill them with worthwhile content. I have a business directory and a classifieds plugin installed and would like to know how to quickly get content into these sections. Anybody know something about this or am I asking for way too much?

  • Do you have a printer?

    If yes then you should print out flyers and put them outside your local billboards, walmart etc to get started.

    Also, tell you friends to help you out.
  • Another awesome way would be to contact non-profits (libraries, clubs, schools, etc) and offer them free inclusion (assuming it's a paid directory).

    If it's not paid, just start cold calling. If it's not costing the business owners anything, you'll be getting high conversions in no time.
  • There are several ways to "populate" your site fast:

    (1) You can purchase and import directory data;

    (2) You can pull in a data feed from another classified site; or

    (3) You can outsource data entry of the first 1,000 listings.
