PageRank

Other factors include how many internal links you have to each page and the quality and number of external links that are pointing to the page.
Pagerank also has a lot to do with page content. Does your page give the reader as much information as possible on the topic? Google tends to put pages with higher pageranks at the top of the search results which is why pagerank is so important. You'll often see Wikipedia pages at the top of Google's search results because many have a pagerank of 5,6,7 or 8.
