VPS account still showing up as Suspended after migration..

Hi

Recently I had some trouble with my VPS at eBoundhost.com. They suspended my account without notice saying that I was using up too much of my resources. I am sure this only happened for a couple of hours or so anyway. They also didn't like my autoblog sites and claimed that it was spamming.

Anyway, after they suspended all my accounts I decided to migrate and after the migration, the accounts are still showing up as "suspended" on my new VPS. It has something to do with the CGI code that eboundhost has used to replace all the pages with during the account suspension.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this? None of my accounts are suspended with the new VPS. And they have twice the ram anyway. So I should be ok (as soon as I get this error sorted out).

Thanks.

Kind regards

VW

Are you moving the original files? Did you update your DNS records with your registrar to your new host? My bet is that they're still pointing to the old host. Either that, or the new DNS records just haven't resolved yet.

Have a look in the .htaccess files, it's likely they set up the suspension that way so removing the code from there will get the sites back online.

I tried connecting with the IP address and the result was the same. So, I think it's the .htaccess file like you suggested. But how do I edit it or delete it?

You can edit your .htaccess file in any text editor such as notepad, or you can do it via the cPanel file manager. (Assuming you have cPanel)

If you want to paste the contents of the .htaccess file here we'll be able to show you what to remove.

I use cPanel. But how do I locate the file within cPanel or the file manager?

Thanks Dan. I've done it. Fortunately for me I didn't have to edit any of the .htaccess files since they only had the redirection code to the "account suspended" page. And the file was visible after I checked the "show hidden files" option.

    All the best to you.
