Does a new blog harder to rank in google?

Hi!

I saw a video from a marketer who wanted to convince me that I could use links from high PR forums to rank high in the search engines. I have read about it before and guess it could be right.

This marketer show a website that he had. The website was on page 30 on google for a keyword that wasn't competetive. After he had added som likes from different forums (about 15) and waited a week, he was on the first page of google.

I tried and did a website for the same keyword because I thought, if he can do it, I can. It was a good try.

Now, after about 2 weeks and about 40 links my blog is on pages 2 of google.

So my question is, does his blog have an easier way to the first page of google because it wasn't a new site? And should I add more links to my blog or just wait to see it get better ranking over time?

Please ask any questions if you need more info.

backlinks is the key factor. Forum links are just one way of getting backlinks, there are others as well.

too many factors one could mention to rank well in google. But the one concern you is the history of your domain, if you just register it and nobody has registered it before. It's not gonna have a good credit due to short history (similar to the way credit history works), it'll take years to build up the history of the site to rank well in google.

The main differences could be the age of his domain, the content within his blog (his keyword density could be more favourable than yours), as well as the exact quality of his backlinks compared to the ones you've got. Hope that helps a little )
